2023 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best
The K Club is a stylish country resort, tucked away in the Kildare countryside but just on Dublin’s doorstep, firmly anchored in old-school Irish hospitality in a delightfully relaxed and unfussy way. The K Club is an exceptional backdrop to laidback country stays. With an authentic country mansion at its heart and comfortable contemporary wings, the fabulous décor, attentive staff and an impressive range of things to do both indoors and outdoors set the tone for days that can be as chilled or as full as you like, as there are scheduled and bespoke activities for you to dip in and out of, just as suits you. Set in lush countryside, overlooking formal gardens and its own pair of championship golf courses, The K Club has a wide choice of bars and restaurants, handsome drawing rooms and magnificent interiors with elegantly classic furnishings. The 128 spacious bedrooms are each individually designed with great attention to detail, with bathrooms that feature hand-painted murals. To ensure you get maximum pleasure from your dining experiences at The K Club, work up an appetite by playing one of the two Arnold Palmer-designed championship golf courses, host to the Ryder Cup in 2006, try kayaking on the estate’s private mile-long stretch of the River Liffey or experience the noble and ancient art of falconry, getting up close and personal with a stunning selection of birds of prey. Enjoy horse riding, playing a few games of tennis or fishing on the Liffey or the well-stocked lakes for pike, perch and brown trout, carp and tench, with the expert tuition of one of The K Club’s ghillies. With all equipment provided, this is an exhilarating way to spend a few hours, and even complete beginners catch fish in these well-stocked waters. Get out in the fresh country air on horseback where, from quiet lanes for beginners to full cross-country courses for the adventurous, you’ll be well minded by experienced K Club instructors on this classic country day out. Simply follow one of the gentle mapped garden walks, exploring the grounds at your own leisurely pace, or take the resort bicycles for a short spin to the cosy Straffan Inn, the pub in the nearby village which has been serving locals for over 100 years, opening its doors originally in 1920. Enjoy your drinks, with the concierge team collecting you when you are ready to return home to The K Club. If the weather isn’t cooperating, you could take a wine cellar or guided history tour, enjoy the beloved ritual of afternoon tea in one of the drawing rooms, or work your way through the menu of indulgent spa treatments in the award-winning K Spa, delivered by exceptional therapists. From deep tissue massages to cutting-edge skin treatments, there are relaxing and rejuvenating options to suit everyone at The K Spa. Rainy days are also a good time to experience the high-tech excitement of golf in K Golf World, a sophisticated suite of 8 state-of-the-art golf simulators, with spacious and luxurious bays, designed for up to 4 golfers at a time. In K Golf World at The K Club you can virtually play some of the world’s finest golf courses and improve your game, all while leaving your wet gear at home. For children there are Kids Club activities during school holidays, including movies, kids discos, treasure hunts, face painting, arts and crafts and duck races, as well as outdoor options like tennis and cycling, with families welcome to use the resort bicycles together to go exploring. Fuel your sense of adventure as a family and do some something different together every day with the impressive range of on-site activities at The K Club.

Rooms
Comfortable
Guests praised the spacious, comfortable rooms with lovely decor, though some criticized the dated furnishings and lack of cleanliness.
- Joanne MSep 2023 • 200 contributions...It was great to come back from the city to such a cozy warm room (101) and spend a day golfing and another just enjoying the grounds...
- GRAINNE LAug 2023 • 8 contributions...Very comfortable, clean Deluxe room with both shower and bath. Nice quiet room, not a sound could be heard from any other room... Great to have the Sauna and Steamroom in with the Showers and Changing Room...
- NeenalsJul 2023 • 190 contributionsGrand hotel located a short drive from Kildare Village... Check in was quick and we walked about 5mins to get to our rooms through the large hotel... The room was very cold and the thermostat didn't go above 20 so I just turned it all off, it eventually warmed up a bit... The room was very big with a huge bathroom... Tea and coffee making facilities, big comfy bed, very good WiFi and in the bathroom a separate shower and huge bath... I had my do not disturb sign in the door while I was bathing, but leaving the room at about 6:30 I removed it so the house keeping would do my turndown, I got back to my room after dinner around midnight and the curtains were still open, dirty towels in the bathroom, no replacement of empty water bottles and the bed hadn't been turned down...
- StephenR285Jul 2023 • 795 contributions...A very impressive facility and our room, while being a long way from the reception was huge and very comfortable. The bed was nice, the bathroom was big and overall we were quite impressed... We dined in both nights in a room beside the restaurant and the food was good without being exceptional... Service was intermittent and the room lacked any special atmosphere... Breakfast was in the same room and was delicious with many great hot and cold options...
- Donna GJul 2023 • 18 contributions...Hair dryers are in the room but in a dresser drawer not the bathroom...

- Sightsee27174020027Mar 2023 • 1 contribution...Our room had a slightly basement feel, (so if you like views might he worth emphasing at time of booking), but this was forgotten when one closed the curtins and focused on the lovely decor. This was made even easier when on returning to oyr room for the first time we were moticed a beautifullly presented anniversary treat followed by a knock on the door from Ceasar bearing a celebratory balloon...

- ARAAFeb 2023 • 1 contribution...Instead this time around we were given a tiny room for 3 people so that we could hardly walk around the beds, the bed for our daughter was so bad that she couldn't lay down as the springs of the mattress were hurting her (so blankets had to be put on top to mitigate the problem), the service at the fine dinning restaurant was very poor despite the price tag (empty glasses were just left on the table, bread wasn't offered, drinks would take forever to arrive.. generally it felt like I was in a cafeteria), and to top it all up when we arrived back home and just wanted to forget about the whole experience, the wrong amount was charged to our credit card so had to call back to get it fixed...
- gramochroiJan 2023 • 63 contributions...The little practical things on a family holiday make the trip…interconnecting rooms, gowns for everyone, cookies and juice on arrival, and an ability to borrow goggles in the leisure centre!...

Value
Overpriced
Many travelers found the hotel's value questionable, citing overpriced services and unmet expectations for the high costs.
- Iris HAug 2023 • 1 contribution...We booked an experience in the hotel spa - everywhere else is going to be the poor cousin now in comparison...
- GRAINNE LAug 2023 • 8 contributions...Very comfortable, clean Deluxe room with both shower and bath...

- CareyApr 2023 • 4 contributions...I also would not rate the service in the hotel... Overpriced for what it is and the hotel needs work done... Save your money and go somewhere else...
- Sightsee27174020027Mar 2023 • 1 contribution...This trip was quite a splurge for my husband and I after quite a hectic start to 2023 þo celebrate both a birthday and anniversary From initial booking enquiry to final farewell, the service was impeccable... Ceasar, and Martin on the front desk and Mikey in the Palmer were outstanding but each staff member was wonderful... If the Palmer Supper Club offer is still available grab it...
- Marina PMar 2023 • 107 contributions...Nice big bathroom, lovely big bath...
- ARAAFeb 2023 • 1 contributionWe had a poor experience in this hotel in Feb23... Instead this time around we were given a tiny room for 3 people so that we could hardly walk around the beds, the bed for our daughter was so bad that she couldn't lay down as the springs of the mattress were hurting her (so blankets had to be put on top to mitigate the problem), the service at the fine dinning restaurant was very poor despite the price tag (empty glasses were just left on the table, bread wasn't offered, drinks would take forever to arrive.. generally it felt like I was in a cafeteria), and to top it all up when we arrived back home and just wanted to forget about the whole experience, the wrong amount was charged to our credit card so had to call back to get it fixed... We did raise these issues with the hotel staff and they did apologize however paying the price of a good hotel and restaurant to rest and spend some relaxing family time and to have all these issues is incredibly disapointing...
- shelly-annFeb 2023 • 1942 contributions...Food and service was excellent and reasonably priced...
- ShaneJan 2023 • 1 contribution...The reservations team went above and beyond in helping secure a package deal for the stay... The only negative point of our stay was the food on the night...
- Mshaw61Jan 2023 • 9 contributions...Would definitely stay again and would happily recommend...
- Out on the tiles.Dec 2022 • 239 contributions...Never ever used in the cheapest of hotels... They know how to charge €25 plus 12.5% service for a passion fruit Martini….Claridges don’t charge that.‼️ The Spa is 🤦♂️….the gym is like a walk of shame from the hotel and the Gym equipment is so old and obsolete….treatments are non existent as theSpa caters for external guests...
- Pegah JOct 2022 • 1 contribution...Then to top it off- they tried to charge our bill twice for two different amounts...

All the bed linen seemed relatively new too... The grounds are absolutely impeccable, manicured to perfection... I somehow wonder is the whole place looking so well because the Irish Open is being held here in a month or so, who knows...

Service
Attentive
Travelers highly praise the service at the hotel, frequently citing the staff's friendliness, professionalism, and attentiveness.
- NeenalsJul 2023 • 190 contributions...Staff are very attentive and the hotel was much bigger than I expected. Check in was quick and we walked about 5mins to get to our rooms through the large hotel... Tea and coffee making facilities, big comfy bed, very good WiFi and in the bathroom a separate shower and huge bath... I was over the moon to see bath salts provided and made sure I had time for a nice soak... Opens at 6am but was a good 10min walk from my room... Still that said I managed to get done what I needed... Dinner was delicious although it took a while to serve each course... The sommelier knew his stuff and we enjoyed some very delicious wines to accompany the meal... Breakfast was much faster served and again very tasty... After a few minutes chasing a young concierge guy around the hotel we finally found the bags and went on our way...
- StephenR285Jul 2023 • 795 contributions...A very impressive facility and our room, while being a long way from the reception was huge and very comfortable. The bed was nice, the bathroom was big and overall we were quite impressed... Service was intermittent and the room lacked any special atmosphere... Breakfast was in the same room and was delicious with many great hot and cold options... A delightful and unexpected bonus, was when I asked someone from reception about bars we could go to after dinner and he offered a hotel shuttle to take us at no cost to a pub in the nearby town that the K Club owns... We took him up on the offer and it took two shuttle trips to get us all to the pub and fear a Guinness or two the pub called the hotel to get the shuttle back to return us to the hotel...
- Road159356Jul 2023 • 1 contribution...Myself, my wife and our 2 year old stayed in the K club last weekend and it was a truly restorative stay. From the moment we arrived in the carpark, we were greeted by very helpful and friendly staff who took our bags and brought us in van to door so we didn't get wet... The breakfast was superb and again, every member of staff was so friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable...
- Paul BJul 2023 • 3 contributions...Unfortunately, we were a bit underwhelmed by the experience. It was the day after our wedding and we had asked the hotel if it was possible to have something special arranged which they confirmed... When we arrived in our room there was a note congratulating us along with a jar of pastilles (which I think are standard in most rooms) so we were a bit disappointed we didn't receive a glass of prosecco or similar to toast to...
- SherriJul 2023 • 2 contributionsThe K Club is a fabulous hotel where the staff can’t do enough for you. The doormen and reception staff were so welcoming and most helpful and the restaurant staff were excellent... The courtesy car drivers were second to none, especially Martin who made our stay extra special... The pool and spa area was clean and modern with a lovely outdoor hot tub... The nearby lively Straffan Inn Bar, which was accessible by courtesy car, was a welcome and added bonus...
The Spa receptionist insisted on calling a shuttle when it was raining, so we wouldn't have to walk back.. Breakfast was wonderful and a couple of hiccups on service the second morning very easy to forgive... This was made even easier when on returning to oyr room for the first time we were moticed a beautifullly presented anniversary treat followed by a knock on the door from Ceasar bearing a celebratory balloon... Drinks in both The Henry and Blue Martini felt like very special occasions indeed... If the Palmer Supper Club offer is still available grab it...
- Cbosser1Mar 2023 • 6 contributions...Excellent service from the time we arrived at the door... We also tried horse riding for the first time and the owners of the horse farm we extremely patient with us...
- Adam CookeMar 2023 • 1 contribution...Myself and my friend stayed in the hotel which was a fantastic experience. Every member of staff was extremely welcoming and made us feel like VIP guests... The courses are maintained to a very high standard and you can tell there is no expense spared... I will be recommending to all friends and family to stay and play and experience this outstanding facility...
- João Victor SFeb 2023 • 2 contributions...Since the welcoming in the Checkin the staff was perfect and very kind all the time. Breakfast is delicious and they serve it in the villa as well... The WhatsApp group made very easy to request any assistance we needed... The transfer for Ubud centre is also very convenient... Thanks k club Ubud team...
- SarahFeb 2023 • 3 contributionsHaving stayed in lots of other 5 star hotels around Ireland I have to say everything about this hotel is most definitely proper 5 star treatment. We stayed two nights for my birthday and from the moment you set foot through the door of the resort you are treated like royalty... The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and cannot do enough for you... The atmosphere is so relaxed and everybody we encountered were very friendly both guests and staff... We ate in both the palmer and the south restaurants during our stay... The spa was lovely and I had a treatment also which was lovely and relaxing... My compliments to the staff in particular as they make this hotel so special... The service is like nothing I’ve seen before...
- shelly-annFeb 2023 • 1942 contributions...Food and service was excellent and reasonably priced... We got a fantastic welcome from Cesar, who went out of his way to look after us... Nicholas on reception was very professional and a credit to the hotel... Brendan the concierge took us to our room, we enjoyed his banter... Really friendly, he makes you feel at home... Great selection on the buffet, hot food was excellent and service also very good... I didn't get the ladies name in reception who checked us out but wanted to mention that she also was friendly and very professional... It was a pleasure to meet the staff who are fantastic ambassadors of the Hospitality industry Highly recommend a visit!...
- John GFeb 2023 • 5 contributionsHaving stayed in many great hotels in Ireland and abroad I have never experienced a welcome close to what I got in the KClub. Tony Brendan Dean, I can't remember all the names of the staff but genuinely I've never felt more welcomed in a hotel... The touches for kids, gift bags and lollies truly memorable, I felt like I had been living in the hotel for years such was the welcome... Well done Tony and team I can't speak highly enough of you, your hotel and your staff...
- gramochroiJan 2023 • 63 contributions...The staff from front desk, to the restaurant, to the leisure centre couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. We really enjoyed dinner and breakfast in a lovely setting with good food and excellent service... The little practical things on a family holiday make the trip…interconnecting rooms, gowns for everyone, cookies and juice on arrival, and an ability to borrow goggles in the leisure centre!...
- StephenWaringstownJan 2023 • 80 contributionsIt has been quite a while since we visited the K Club, which then was a first class visit. Delighted when one of our daughters bought us a trip as a Christmas present... Parking is easy and upon entering and registering, Tony, the Concierge took our bags and led us to the room where he expertly explained all that we needed to know... Our stay was extremely enjoyable and the catering at both breakfast and evening meals was of the utmost quality... Throughout, all staff were extremely professional yet treated guests with a high degree of individuality...

Courtesy car to each restaurant/bar on site and also the local pub in the village We didn't use our car once So relaxing Breakfast was unreal Very well looked after by (Perr Went out of his way to accommodate my kids And so attentive Which I really enjoyed Correct me on spelling of his name Audrey manager First smiling face I met on numerous occasions greeted me by name which I was pleasantly surprised as hotel was busy ... kind and so accomadating Eoin front desk kind and swift to deal with Ronan the driver Too many to mention Caesar funny guy with great banter gets the job done But overall Staff of a 5 star and above Here we felt really special and so well looked after that gives us the easy job of this review Amazing time .. One thing if I have to Is that an area that could be looked at In the main hotel particularly Is the wait to be served and order taken at lunch/brunch Then to arrive It can be lengthy Each time But as I say this is minor and definitely won't put us off agai... Next trip was booked before we checked out today Thank you The staff all made our trip amazing Niamh Colin murtagh and kids...
- MytravelJan 2023 • 63 contributionsWe had such a wonderful night stay at the k club... LOVED seeing larger hand soaps / shower gel / shampoo and PAPER water bottles in the rooms... Breakfast service was slow; staff were lovely but def overwhelmed... One of our group gave up waiting and had to leave with a coffee...
- mcgovcNov 2022 • 4 contributions...The house, the grounds and the food were all fabulous but the jewels in the crown here really are the staff. A warm and welcoming atmosphere is felt throughout the hotel and we felt truly at home for the weekend... A special mention to Rachael who organised our wedding so expertly and got every detail just right... Also thanks to Cesar who was always there with a helping hand and a smile...
- G ONov 2022 • 201 contributionsOne of the things I like about this hotel is that even though it is 5 star, the level of service and whole hotel is casual luxury... This hotel has had major investment over the last few years but still welcoming to people of all walks of life (families, couples, business people ..)... The staff are a good mix of youth and experience and are very enthusiastic...
- jen_hotelguruSep 2022 • 24 contributionsThe K Club has consistently, each visit I have made over the past 20 years provided a standard that all hotels should aspire to achieve. A wonderful stay again and a special mention to Nicolas on front desk with the patience of a saint dealing with 6 over excited English ladies... Clara at breakfast on Tuesday who only knew how to say yes to our every whim and Bernie, who went out of her way to make our stay so special... Thank you to all the staff on duty 19th-21st Sept 2022...
- Niamh WFeb 2022 • 1 contributionA really lovely hotel made even better by the more than helpful staff. We were welcomed to the hotel by Tony who ensured we knew exactly where to go at all times for dinners and walks etc and nothing was too much trouble... All staff were very eager to please throughout all areas of the hotel... Norma head of housekeeping also babysat for us and the girls instantly warmed to her lovely nature...

Travelers generally praised the hotel's extensive amenities, such as comfortable rooms, luxurious spa, excellent food, and welcoming staff, while a few noted minor cleanliness and maintenance issues.
- Shar1234567Aug 2023 • 162 contributions...The hotel is set in a rural location just outside Dublin with beautiful gardens, a meandering stream, and surrounded by a championship golf course. The pool and spa are spectacular and there is a wide range of activities, from paddle boarding to archery for leisure... Staff was helpful and the ambiance was very relaxing!...
Both the Palmer Restaurant and the South Bar and Restaurant (slightly more casual) offered delicious food with beautiful views of the golf club... The pool and spa area was clean and modern with a lovely outdoor hot tub... The nearby lively Straffan Inn Bar, which was accessible by courtesy car, was a welcome and added bonus...
- StephenR285Jul 2023 • 795 contributions...Our last two nights of a coach tour saw us staying at the K Club. A very impressive facility and our room, while being a long way from the reception was huge and very comfortable... The bed was nice, the bathroom was big and overall we were quite impressed...
- Road159356Jul 2023 • 1 contribution...From the moment we arrived in the carpark, we were greeted by very helpful and friendly staff who took our bags and brought us in van to door so we didn't get wet... The rooms are so beautiful and well maintained... Our bedroom had the comfiest bed we've ever slept on!... The breakfast was superb and again, every member of staff was so friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable...
- Paul BJul 2023 • 3 contributions...We were really looking forward to the stay as had never been to the K Club before... When we arrived in our room there was a note congratulating us along with a jar of pastilles (which I think are standard in most rooms) so we were a bit disappointed we didn't receive a glass of prosecco or similar to toast to... We had an evening meal in Barton's which was really nice and the grounds of the hotel are stunning...
- Frances BApr 2023 • 3 contributions...Towels aren’t particularly white and fluffy, generally needs a refurb and toilets need inspecting more often...
- Sightsee27174020027Mar 2023 • 1 contribution...This trip was quite a splurge for my husband and I after quite a hectic start to 2023 þo celebrate both a birthday and anniversary From initial booking enquiry to final farewell, the service was impeccable...
- Adam CookeMar 2023 • 1 contribution...Myself and my friend stayed in the hotel which was a fantastic experience. Every member of staff was extremely welcoming and made us feel like VIP guests... Both Courses (Palmer North & South) are in incredible condition... I will be recommending to all friends and family to stay and play and experience this outstanding facility...
The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous to explore and the k trails is a must... We ate in both the palmer and the south restaurants during our stay... The spa was lovely and I had a treatment also which was lovely and relaxing...
- thegilsFeb 2023 • 11 contributions...It was a fabulous trip filled with great memories of delicious food, wine tasting, massages, swimming, walks in beautiful surroundings, fun and laughter...
- ARAAFeb 2023 • 1 contribution...We had been there already in late 2021 and decided to repeat as last time it was great; the hotel is beautiful, food was fantastic and the location is close to Dublin airport which comes very handy when taking an early flight... We did raise these issues with the hotel staff and they did apologize however paying the price of a good hotel and restaurant to rest and spend some relaxing family time and to have all these issues is incredibly disapointing...
- FifieFeb 2023 • 59 contributions...From the groundsmen, housekeeping, bar and restaurant staff, spa and the management levels everyone was thoroughly welcoming throughout our stay... That was a direct result how we were greeted at the gatehouse and by the concierge at the door...
- StephenWaringstownJan 2023 • 80 contributionsIt has been quite a while since we visited the K Club, which then was a first class visit... This made the road trip enjoyable and set the scene for the hotel... Parking is easy and upon entering and registering, Tony, the Concierge took our bags and led us to the room where he expertly explained all that we needed to know... The room- magnificent with a view to die for!... Our stay was extremely enjoyable and the catering at both breakfast and evening meals was of the utmost quality...

We visited in February 2020 and from the onset it was clear that our stay would meet our expectations.
Unfortunately many Hotels these days offer the marketing hype but fail to deliver, not at the K Club.
A warm welcome by immaculately presented staff and a very efficient check in combined with the whole ambience of Reception proved to be the benchmark for our stay.
Our very large room was well equipped and presented, scrupulously clean and left nothing to be desired, a very impressive and comfortable bed with a lovely touch of monogrammed bed linen.
In many hotels of the same ratings there are often disappointing details which distract from the overall feel of a Hotel, little discrepancies such as a tatty carpet, knocks on furniture, items missing, even just a bulb out, petty to some but in reality the attention to detail makes the difference because when I walk into a Hotel room I want to feel as though I was the first person to stay in it.
A huge bathroom included a huge bath which just happened to be large enough for two, as well as a walk in shower, with towels in abundance.
We enjoyed afternoon tea and noted the attentiveness of the staff, a lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes, the tiny scones to die for.
Breakfast was a grand affair, I love breakfasts and again, a benchmark for choice and quality ingredients, the jams, joghurts and pastries served at the table another little touch.
Well done the K Club on delivering!

Excellent stay at this large yet still uniquely personal 5* hotel.
The room overlooking the Liffey was large and luxurious with every comfort in mind. The grounds provided great walks regardless of the poor weather.
Unusually, for such a high end hotel, there is a very good range of dining options. Top class fine dining in the restaurant and more informal dining in the equine themed bar.
Then surprisingly the hotel owns the local and very authentic Irish village pub which serves a limited but great value meal. The pub is a pleasant and easy 20 minute stroll from the hotel on top of which the concierge service offers a complimentary ride both there and back.
The staff were habitually and consistently welcoming and friendly.
For guests with electric vehicles there is ample free charging available.
There is a spa with large pool and other facilities which I would rate as serviceable but not on a par with a hotel of this standard. I was expecting Four Seasons/Ritz Carlton spa standard but it was more Virgin Active. Somewhat basic in my opinion but with enormous potential to upgrade it to great. (Photo of foyer of spa)
I can’t wait to return!

I have wanted to visit the K Club for a long time, but have never been able to come to terms with why a hotel room for the night costs so much. We took the plunge and booked a package including 2 nights b&b, a 4 course dinner and a spa treatment each.
And what can I say - you get what you pay for! From the moment we walked through the front doors, we were treated like old and valued friends. We felt so welcome. Reception greeted us by name, and a very friendly porter helped deliver our bags to our room, which had been very kindly upgraded. He explained all about the hotel and facilities en route to our room. All of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special - from the reception staff, to the cleaners, to the restaurant staff.
Our dinner in the Barton restaurant was quite simply the best food we have ever eaten. The Somalier helped me choose a beautiful bottle of wine, which we were able to finish in the bar after the meal. The cocktails in the bar were excellent also!
We decided to have room service breakfast on our last day, and my partner cheekily requested pancakes on the form which was not on the room service menu, in addition to eggs benedict. Low and behold, when breakfast arrived, there they were! (So I think we might owe you for a third breakfast!).
Our massages in the spa were great, and the hotel was beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations. Despite the hotel being very large, it feels very intimate - like visiting an old (very rich) friend's home.
All in all, every hotel visit from now on will now be judged on a scale of 1 to K Club, and I highly doubt anything will come close. Until next time!

An impressive hotel with friendly staff but needs significant investment and improvement of food and service to be truly 5 star. As mentioned by other reviewers the breakfast service was poor. We repeatedly had to ask for basic items like cutlery, milk for tea etc. Toast always cold by the time breakfast arrived. The food quality was good however. Room service was a complete joke - overpriced and tiny portions - when questioned with the server we were told ‘that’s what I was given.’ We had issues with restaurant bookings and transport too.
On the plus side we loved the pool, rooms were great (apart from wind noise) and appreciated the kids goodie bag on arrival. We enjoyed the fairy trail and horse riding and a visit to a nearby pet farm. Found that there was not really any family space in the hotel and as a result didn’t get to relax and mix with other guests as you usually would. The concierge and reception staff were friendly and helpful. We did enjoy our stay and appreciate that the staff are working very hard in difficult circumstances. Given the significant expense we’ll probably look elsewhere for a family break next time. For older couples interested in golf etc worth a try.

Overall a very nice hotel however food quality and service was poor on the whole. First night we opted for room service as they couldn't accommodate us in the bar or restaurant. We were initially given the option of a more expanded choice of menu, this was then revoked. Fine. When it did come, it took over an hour (8pm) with two small children losing the will. The pizza was burnt, same with goujons and the main curry was like a tapa size (at 22 euros plus). We rang back and they reordered. Another hour and visits downstairs (the restaurant manager asked was I from a different room - obviously were numerous people with issues). Second time around, no pizzas (none 'left' apparently) so received a plate heaped with chicken goujons instead. Through all of this the communication was shocking and no apologies. Basic things at breakfast were also awry- lack of basic cutlery etc.
At checkout the receptionist that day was very understanding - refunded the room service. Which was kind but wasn't about the money. Pool area etc was great. Understand there are challenges post covid etc and I understand a lot of staff were new. Still, no excuses for lack of attention in key areas and we'll short of 5 star standards based off this visit.

The K Club is conveniently situated about 40 mins drive from Dublin airport. The hotel has been extended over the years but is built around a beautiful original Georgian building, and is set in extensive, manicured grounds with two stunning championship golf courses.
We had a large deluxe room; generally quiet, very comfortable bed, nicely furnished and had a modern bathroom with quality products. TV could have been bigger! We were awake by 7.15am watching the Olympics but surprised that there was a noisy lawnmower going outside at that time!
Neither of us are golfers but we had plenty to do; relaxing in the hotel, walking and cycling the trails skirting the golf courses and air rifle shooting off site. The only slight disappointment was the pool/spa area which is quite new but already feels a bit tired, especially the changing room and shower area.
We had two great dinners; the first night at the signature Barton restaurant and the second night at the more informal Palmer. Both times the food was excellent and reasonable value for money. Breakfast service was a bit slow. Drinks in the cocktail bar were fun.
Overall, this was an excellent, relaxing short break. Service could not have been more friendly and helpful from front desk, porters, servers and cleaners.

We stayed here as a family of three as a Wedding Anniversary treat in late October. Imminent restrictions loomed due to Covid-19 and to say we were stressed was an understatement. That is until we reached the tree lined drive into the resort. As we walked through the doors of the hotel I could see my partner's shoulders relax and they stayed that way for the duration of our stay.
Nothing is overlooked here even with Covid-19 guidelines in place, we experienced true 5 star hospitality. From Brendan playing superhero with our Batman obsessed son, Mairead's warm welcome at check in and care throughout our stay, Matea's perfect dinner service and Guilia's cheery breakfast I can honestly say, as parents of a boisterous 4 year old who don't often feel carefree when out as a family, we were exactly that for our entire stay.
Dinner in the Barton restaurant was beautiful with wine pairings for each course chosen by the oh so knowledgeable Lisa. As our son tired, room service dessert was easily arranged and promptly delivered including a sweet Happy Anniversary message with petit fours. Another highlight in current times was the individual pastry tiers for breakfast. Compared to other breaks away, this certainly was the best take on continental breakfast. Dairy free yoghurts and butter were provided readily for our intolerant son.
We managed to fit a swim into our one night break. The pool is beautiful and the changing rooms comfortable and spacious. A walk after checkout on the vast, well kept grounds rounded up a perfect stay.
We look forward to returning again as a couple to experience the spa, get a massage and perhaps a tipple in the Cocktail Lounge.

We look forward to returning again as a couple to experience the spa, get a massage and perhaps a tipple in the Cocktail Lounge.

Last weekend I stayed at the K Club for one night and the only complaint I had was that I'd wished we'd booked in for longer! It was the most enjoyable and relaxing night away and only 30 mins from Dublin so we arrived nice and early on the Saturday to make the most of the beautiful location. It was our third time to visit the hotel and I have to say it never disappoints. Our room was so luxurious and spacious with a bed to match. We took advantage of the hotel's bikes and cycled all around the grounds, there's so much to see. We also took advantage of the pool area later that evening which has a jacuzzi and outdoor hot tub - the hot tub is a must! The staff were all incredibly warm, welcoming and friendly during our stay and incredibly helpful with any questions we had. I already can't wait to book my next stay at the K Club!

We visited the k club the weekend after it reopened. This was our second visit and we wondered if it would live up to the wonderful weekend we had before, especially in the Covid era. I’m pleased to say it did. We had an amazing massage in the spa, two wonderful meals in the restaurant and loved the change to breakfast to have a ‘afternoon tea’ style tray instead of the open buffet. We enjoyed a few drinks in the bar and our room was gorgeous. We felt safe throughout and the staff were visibly cleaning/sanitising everything. The staff were impeccable in general and very friendly. We will be back again as soon!

So, just wanted a wee break nearby, something a little special to celebrate our 21st Wedding Anniversary. The K Club is a very short 30-40 minutes from our home so perfect for us to get down early Friday afternoon and we were sitting down to lunch 2.15 in the Media Puzzle Bar. From the moment we arrived we immediately felt comfortable, relaxed and knew we would enjoy it! Staff were attentive, professional, helpfull but with a relaxed easy going manner which we loved.
All meals we had were of the very highest standard...particularly the fine dining experience in The Byerturk restaurant, our meal was exceptional if not a tad pricey. Loved all the areas and rooms that you can relax in, with big fires and plenty to read.
Would have loved if there was a bigger area to walk around but being in between the 2 golf courses you are restricted to a small area around a small island. Specisl mention to Martin one of the transport drivers, lovely guy and very helpful. Will 100% be back☘️

I don't know. I was at a wedding.
It's a bit upmarket place so smart dress.
It would be better to ring them. I was only at a Wedding there
Good evening collie1970,
We do not offer shuttles to the race meetings however our Concierge team would be happy to book you a taxi should you wish. We look forward to welcoming you to The K Club.
I am not sure if they offer transport or tours of Dublin however The K Club offer many tours local to the hotel, from Kayaking and Cycling to Fishing, Wine and Whiskey tasting, Archery, Horse Riding and Historical Tours of the house. The K Club is about forty minutes from Dublin and there is a local bus stop close to the hotel costing Ten Euro for a return ticket. There is a tourist office in Dublin right beside the stop as you disembark from the bus and they run a myriad of Dublin Tours and also provide tickets for the hop on and hop off bus tour of Dublin. A taxi will cost you around sixty euro from the Hotel to the city Centre. I hope this is helpful.
