On the weekend of 12th July 2020 we stayed at the silver tassie hotel. We had a voucher for Select hotels so we booked our room through the select hotels office.
We arrived about 6ish on the Sunday evening and were checked in without any issues. Got to our room and what a surprise! It was truly wonderful, very spacious , spotless room and bathroom. A video player with the TV, some very tasteful artwork on the wall. Each room was named after a town/village in the County, ours was Gweedore.
We had dinner in the bar/restaurant. Very good experience as was breakfast . We were very impressed that ALL front of house staff (receptionists we’re behind a screen) we’re wearing face masks, I mean everyone. The hotel was very busy that evening (12th) July but staff gave everyone their full attention.
I knew nothing about the Silver Tassie (I’m originally Donegal, living in Dublin) before we went there, and left it being so so impressed . I have some experience in hospitality and what struck me was that the hotel is very well managed, flawless (I mean that ) .
I think maybe the artist and the owners are connected. The management are a credit to Donegal and the Hotel Industry.
Big thanks to all involved .

We stayed for 2 nights bed & breakfast & an evening meal. The food was delicious and the customer service both with the waiting / bar staff & the reception staff was excellent. Such a lovely atmosphere around the hotel making us feel welcome. The room service provided was excellent and under the current circumstances with covid 19 the measures they have in place made us feel safe and at ease. We took a day trip to Rathmullan which was beautiful and the beach is a 15-20 minute drive away. Great location and a great service. Our room was unreal with so much room and everything was so clean & tidy. Thanks Silver Tassie team, we will be back in the near future!

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. A famiky of 5.
The rooms were spacious and clean. Although rooms were not serviced due to Covid that didn't cause us any problems. We just asked for what was required and the lovely frkeny cleaning staff left it outside your room in a wooden box. What actually quite lovely!
Staff in the hotel were terrific, Orla had been my main correspondence on lead up to our break and when we arrived she introduced herself and spoke of our correspondence. I thought that was very terrific and so personal.
Bar and waiting staff were so friend and one in particular stood out to us... Wionetta. She made of our children every time she saw them.
Breakfast and dinner was delicious, our kids didnt want to eat anywhere else but hotel - not even Mcdonalds!
We found the location to be also great to see around Donegal.
We would highly recommend this hotel.

Spent a night in a family room there. The room itself was big and could fit a family of 5 as had 2 big double beds and a single. There were a number of improvements to the hotel which could have easily made it nicer (like doors all seemed grubby and floors sticky). There was a big crowd (communions) when we arrived and to be honest we did not feel comfortable having dinner in the restaurant with so many people there, so had room service. Food was very average and I think expensive for what we got. In terms of Covid standards, staff all wore masks. We were seated however in top of another table for breakfast the next morning so again felt uncomfortable with that situation. Reception staff were super friendly and helpful and hotel had a great choice of dvd’s for all age groups. Hotel is situated about 10 mins outside of Letterkenny and was nice and quiet.

We recently attended a family wedding in this fabulous hotel. Having eaten here several times in the past this was the first time we actually stayed overnight as we reside in County Donegal and would generally travel home.
Booking was very easy- I booked by phone and our request to be near reception was granted. From the moment we entered the lobby we were attended to by polite, efficient and friendly staff. Our room was spotless with all facilities you could think of or require- fluffy towels, facecloths and toiletries in the bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, table and chairs, plenty of wardrobe space, comfortable bed and windows that opened.
The food and service at the wedding were second to none. The function room was tastefully decorated, the staff were amazing and the food was delicious and hot too! We had a great day and night.
Breakfast was very tasty- a good choice with hot plate served to the table. Everything about this hotel is just fantastic. Many thanks for a wonderful stay. We will be back! And we will recommend to all our friends and relations!!

From start to finish what a wonderful experience, everyone was so friendly and we would like to mention the young lad in the restaurant who took our order for meals drinks etc. this lad could not do enough to make sure we had everything our heart desired, nothing was too much trouble he went above and beyond. As a disabled person we were given a room with a wet room for the disabled raised toilet etc and there was another bathroom for able bodied, towels, face cloths, soap and beautiful shampoo and body wash were supplied. The room contained a double and single bed, tea facilities and biscuits and that wonderful lad delivered biscuits to our room with extra milk. The Silver Tassie is spotlessly clean and has a beautiful glass conservatory which is very atmospheric and gorgeous when lit up at night we would 100% go back again. We have been around most of the Wild Atlantic Way and this was our best experience ever ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a homey hotel that pays attention to every guest's needs and wants. The rooms are large and well-appointed, nice amenities, and there is an outstanding bar and restaurant where you can mingle with locals and share the blarney with them. Tuesday nights are Irish music night--don't miss it!

Stayed in the Silver Tassie on Saturday night last while on a road trip to Donegal. A beautiful hotel in a lovely setting with a warm welcome. We were given a beautiful huge master bedroom which was spotless. Due to fine weather, many guests were on the terrace and we had a tasty dinner there which was really good value. Hope to visit again!

Hi There How do we get to the restaurant from Carvoeiro please?
Answer from Tony M

Hi Monica, Have your tried contacting the hotel directly? On occasions, I have found that whilst the websites state that there is no availability, this may not always be the case. However, a few things to bear in mind are: 1: this is a very busy peak holiday period, and the hotel attracts a lot of guests from N Ireland as this centres around a 2week traditional holiday period. 2: the hotel could have a wedding on and be booked out with guests. Hope this has been of help. Tony
