Having visited the resort for the first time on Saturday/ Sunday the following is my review.

Facilities:
• I found all current facilities were excellent and the place looked and felt amazing and worthy of a world class status, the pool, rooms, beach areas and the main body of the hotel were all terrific and felt high end and luxurious.
• West beach was again really terrific and a lovely spot to swim at high tide and completely enjoyable
• Walking tracks and ridge walk were all great, easy to access and easy to navigate an early morning walk around to west beach and along the ridge highly recommended
• Rooms (Ocean View) were excellent couple of issues in the bathroom door was very hard to move and Ac wants great but overall fantastic rooms and great amenities beds etc.
Staff:
• Upon arrival at the pickup point the staff were very pleasant and helpful
• Boat staff were all competent and ready to assist
• Welcome staff at island on the pier and reception again extremely welcoming and helpful check in was easy and really very well done considering a large part arrived
• Food and beverage staff were all again helpful and ready to try and make things easy and seamless, all well-presented and engaged in conversation, they did their best
• Security staff were unobtrusive and discreet at all times, unless I knew what they were I would not have known and this made my wife and daughter extremely relaxed this was exceptional and made all guests feel a thousand miles from POM I am sure.

Hidden gem in Port Moresby. 20 minutes drive from city to mainland and then cool boat drive of 15 minutes to the hotel. Nice property which is surrounded sea. Great view from the west bay beach and hill top where you can experience perfect sunrise and sunset. Panoramic view from the hill top is something experience of its kind. Rooms are nice and Wi-Fi is fast enough even though it’s an island.

Staffs from front desk, restaurant, security, housekeeping were simply amazing, helpful and kind to assist at all times. Pool is nice and you can do kayaking as well.

Sea salt spa is perfect to rejuvenate yourself which is located in first floor. Food at main restaurant was very nice with variety of options available. Good buffet spread for breakfast too.

Covid Protocols

All Covid protocols were followed. Temperature check was done at pick up point, tahira and island. Sanitizers and masks were provided in the car.

Sanitizers were placed in the room, all public areas. All the staffs were wearing mask and even restaurant tables were set with social distancing.

Definitely five stars and highly recommended for holiday resort vacation.

I stayed in Loloata Private Island resort in December 2019. It is perfect for a relaxing getaway and overall I found it an excellent place to stay in Port Moresby.

Room:
I stayed in one of their overwater villas with my friend. We are both young women and felt very safe at the resort. The villa was really pretty with an indoor and outdoor shower. The bed was comfy and there was WiFi. It also has lovely dressing gowns and slippers for your stay. Room was very clean. It would be ideal if you could go from the balcony into the water below though.

Staff:
The staff at the resort were very helpful and friendly. They brought cookies to our room at night also. Although sometimes a little slow with our drinks during the day despite us being there on a weekday and it being quiet.

Food:
The breakfast buffet was excellent with a large selection. The chef was there on hand to make you an omelette of your choice while you watch.

Location:
Stunning location. The hotel will pick you up and take you via a boat to the island, so if you are looking for somewhere that is close to town this is not the place to stay.

Activities :
The pool is a good size and there is a beach too. Although I spent most of my time at the pool tanning. You can also do water sports etc. I didn’t use the spa but next time I will. I stayed there during a weekday so I’m not sure if they do any night entertainment at the weekends but if not maybe it’s something they should think about.

As I thoroughly enjoyed my stay I gave it a 5/5.

We went to Loloata as a family of three for holiday. We live in PNG and did not want to leave the country. We were picked up from our hotel promptly by the shuttle driver and taken to the dock for the quick ferry ride over to the island. Our check-in and room were great. We would recommend bringing some of your own snacks because there is no convenience store on the island. All of our food was purchased from the one restaurant (the second restaurant was closed) and even though the food was very good, it tended to be pricey. We would like to say thank you to server Stanley. He was friendly and prompt and waited on us several times in the restaurant. We also appreciate Jessica, the dive instructor. She did a wonderful job on my husband's dive. We loved so much about our time there. We would recommend to the resort that they consider turning some of the rooms into two queen bed rooms to accommodate more small families. The extra bed charge they wanted to charge us for our daughter was quite expensive, but we could not afford the two bedroom villa. We had a lovely time. We wish the best to Loloata and hope it thrives.

Things that you have to be advised:
1. Pick up to the island are arranged for 8:30 or 10:30 am. You will reach the island 60-80 mins later. So you will have to wait until checking in hour (2 pm)!!!. This is the most stupid & cheating thing I've ever seen.
2. .Make your mind to wait for ANYTHING at the restaurant a minimum of 30 min. The most simple cup of coffee takes 30 mk s to be brought to your table. ,
3. Whatever they will tell you about room prices at Port Moresby is wrong. The price of a room is 880 Kinas (Jan 2020). A burger with chips is around 48 kinas.

The rest is OK. the rooms are nice and absolutely romantic with a view to the sea a d a big balcony over the water.

Large, comfortable room in the Overwater Suite. Great views over the water, and removed from the main buildings so no noise from the pool or activities area.

The walking tracks on the island were well maintained, and easy walking to the beaches and view points.

Restaurants had a varied menu, and quality was very good.

I used the spa for a deep tissue massage, and highly recommend the service here.

The transfer from Port Moresby was also quite good, and the ferry clean and plenty of space.

If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful, relaxing stay, I'd would highly recommend Loloata.

We stayed with our kids for the weekend.

One of our best stay in recent times.

Check in was very smooth and we were taken to our by the club car. Jackson was explaining about the resort on the while driving.

Rooms were spacious with beautiful view of the sea and best sunrise that you can experience. Pool was nice and kids really enjoyed it. They also offer kayak and morning is best time to do as the sea was quite.

Well maintained property with friendly staffs who were always ready to help.

Restaurant in the lobby offer wide range of menu selection. My favorite was butter chicken and muddy fudge. They also serve buffet for breakfast. We had few drinks at second floor which has aerial view of the resort and amazing sunset.

They follow all Covid protocols, staffs were wearing mask at all times, sanitizer machines placed in lobby area, TV and AC remote were kept in sanitized pack.

They checked our temperature at mainland before boarding the ferry and also at arrival at hotel reception.

Biggest assets are the staffs and kudos to them. Definitely Five stars.

Really nice resort with excellent spa. Food is ok, staff is excellent and goes out of their way to offer assistance. One security officer his name is David showed me around the island to the highest point as well as pointed out the wildlife, wallabies and others. I got a picture of this large blue bird, but the wallabies are too fast. The island is great to walk around. Pool is beautiful. Only downside is there is no beach access. The West beach access is closed and despite being an island there is no other sand beach. They could easily just put down sand in an area like they did behind the pool, but you can’t access the water from there. I’ll likely come back for another holiday weekend as I am in POM for my job for a few months. Nice quick escape for the weekend from POM. Their shuttle meets you at the yacht club visitor parking with pickup time at 10:30 and 12:30. You can’t go to your room until 2 so it’s probably better to do the later option

The 'old' Loloata resort was a few decades old but was a very charmy and cosy place. Not long ago, the old resort was completely knocked down and replaced by a state of the art western style resort. By looking at the facilities alone, one could not guess that you are in Papua New Guinea. The resort could be anywhere in the world. Lacks character. The food is OK but nothing special. While there are 365 days a year wind and sun, the diesel generator runs 24/7. The developers could have invested in more eco-friendly/renewable technology to keep the air cons going.....

One of my friend recommended to stay here as all borders were closed.

It was my first time and not disappointed. It was quite and calm as its weekdays. Stayed in one of the rooms over the hill. Comfortable room with view of the sea.

They have club car to drive through the resort. Wi-fi was good. Good menu with great selection and also serve tandoor chicken and naan bread. Simply delicious.

20 minutes drive from town and 15 minutes drive in ferry before reaching beautiful island. They check the temperature at tahira and all public areas have sanitizers.

Great location and definitely will return back.
