This hotel is not worthy of 4 stars. Although clean, the room was very small, outdated decor which was quite depressing looking and room was stuffy. Very noisy air conditioning system which hums all night even when it's off in the room. The bed was extremely hard. Menu mediocre, limited choice if you are vegetarian. Overall the hotel needs a major facelift to brighten it up. Cost of staying at this hotel is very overpriced for what is being offered

Had a great evening in Bailey's with two friends. Were pleasantly surprised to be seated promptly having arrived with no booking. Had a great table sat under an umbrella between two lovely heaters! Riain was serving us and was so friendly, welcoming and accommodating.

I was here with my boyfriend last Saturday night for dinner. It was amazing. The entrance, restaurant and table service is very well done. I had made a very late booking of 4 hours previous to the time and I was accommodated appropriately. The two of us wined and dined and I had the Pan fried cod with lemo risotto. I love risotto so this was a real treat as it isn't catered for coeliacs in many restaurants. On the side I ate gluten free chips fried in a separate oil, and some water for us both. My boyfriend ate the steak and was delighted with his meal. Unfortunately we have no photographs to share but our night in the Baileys Hotel was so lovely. It had a great buzz. Staff are very efficient and the Christmas feel is so lovely.

We were out for a weekend family meal at the Cellar Bar and Restaurant in Baileys Hotel. We were greeted by a lovely lady at the door who took us to our seating area. The restaurant bar area seemed lively and busy on a Saturday night. We were presented with our menu by a nice waitress. When ordering I asked if the wings for the starter were fresh or frozen. The waitress insisted that everything was fresh which I was delighted to hear. We ordered the wings as a starter to share at the table. For mains I ordered the pasta special, we had two orders of lasagna, the salmon and the fish special. The starter came out in a timely manner with a finger wash bowl, which was a nice touch and side plates for everybody. But unfortunately this was where everything started to go downhill. The wings were not fresh, they were frozen and deep fat fried. This was a major disappointment as I would not have order them had I known that. Working in management myself in the hospitality industry, I found this very deceiving and disappointing. The mains came next. Both fish mains were nice and well plated but unfortunately the lasagnes and pasta special were very disappointing. The lasagna was dry, flavourless and over cooked. It had obviously been reheated and was not freshly made. The pasta special was flavourless and bland. The sauce seemed to have been watered down and the chicken was nearly nonexistent. Overall the mains were dissatisfying. For dessert we had the crumble and chocolate cake, these were ok but not the best we have had. Myself and another family member were still finishing our desserts when we were told that we had to leave for the next bookings. Normally we would have no issue with this however, we were not notified that our time was coming to an end. Some notice would have been nice as we would have ensured to have finished eating sooner. Seeing that the hotel was Failte Ireland Covid-19 Safety Chartered Certified was a reassurance as coming from the hotel/hospitality industry I understand the work the team have put in to achieve this. Therefore, I was surprised to see the kitchen staff were not wearing any masks or face shields. This was really disheartening as the kitchen was an open kitchen and everybody could see them. The waiters wore face shields and were continuously cleaning which was good to see. I wanted to speak with management about the food on the night however as it was a special occasion my mother asked me not to make a big deal about it. I was very disappointed overall as I had heard amazing things about it and several family members have dined there regularly. Overall the food was disappointing, overpriced and I will not be back in a hurry.
