Myself and my wife stayed here for one night and really enjoyed it. It's a lovely hotel, with old style charm with a modern twist. I have to say that any of the staff we dealt with were extremely friendly and helpful. A very pleasant stay, highly recommended

Hotel looks nice from outside. Restaurant staff v good but some of the chairs bit grubby. Bedroom nice but upon investigating the sheets the next morning (as I had a very bad sleep due to the smell) I found recent urine stains. That was bad enough but underneath that was a blood stained mattress.Totally unacceptable for a four star hotel. I was moved to another room, obviously, but very distressing and inconvenient. The paltry compensation offered was disgusting. I guess they need it more than me.

Response from Sales Marketing, Sales at Ballymascanlon House Hotel
Responded Oct 13, 2020
We investigated your review with the housekeeping manager and the reception team who informed us that you did not stay in the first room as you believed that there was a smell in the room. The housekeeping manager moved you straight away to a different room due to the odour you thought that you smelled. You were offered a discount on your accommodation as a goodwill gesture even though you did not stay in the room. This discount was declined as you wanted double the amount offered. We tried to call you in your room and on your contact number provided to discuss this as you did not return to settle your account. We applied the discount which we thought was fair to your bill.

I had a beautiful lunch today in the bar at Ballymasconlon House Hotel. It was my first visit to the hotel and I was very impressed with the whole experience. The grounds are stunning and the hotel is beautiful, well maintained and very clean. I as an "at risk" person felt very comfortable; it certainly was COVID-19 compliant. There was plenty of hand sanitizer, tables were well spaced out, staff wore masks and a server promptly took my name and contact number for the purpose of contact tracing which was reassuring. Staff were very polite and friendly and the service was excellent. The meal itself was delicious and was of a high quality standard. I would recommend a visit - well worth it.

We celebrated our golden wedding anniversary with 24 family members on 22nd August and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Beautiful grounds, excellent food, lovely spacious bedrooms and exceptionally attentive and friendly staff. Special thanks for the very thoughtful bottle of wine and best anniversary wishes from the management. Can’t wait for another excuse to celebrate in Ballymac!

Just back from another stay at this fab hotel. Great food and friendly staff. Been going to the "Ballymac" for years and have always loved it. Room 232 faces onto the bird bath with spectacular views of Ravensdale in the background.
