I visited with a group of my friends for dinner only. We ordered main courses which we all enjoyed and drinks for the table. Upon arrival of the bill we were all charged €50 for a set meal which we had only had a main course. The staff did not inform us the set menu was the only option as of course we would have had three courses knowing this. We were quite upset and they told us we could pay €40 for the meal not including the drinks. This is still ridiculous for a main course only. I was so upset over the poor service offered to us in relation to this and the treatment from the management when we queried this. I will never return on account of this.
Often called in to this hotel for food and drinks over many years ,so we decided to stay there on the 28th of dec. We were met by very friendly staff at reception on our arrival who showed us to our room overlooking the sea.The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean .We had dinner that night which you couldn't fault. if you are looking for accommodation in Waterville you won't beat this hotel for comfort and value.
Called there for Breakfast on spec.We were warmly welcomed and seated overlooking the Atlantic bay.Great full Irish Breakfast followed with great array of fruits and breads. Local advice for seeing the area was proffered by the staff. And did I mention they got the newspaper delivered to our table.
Every time we come to Waterville we cannot but go to the Butler Arms hotel for a drink and food. The monkfish curry is out of this world and possibly the best pint of Guinness!! Staff are friendly and so helpful! Will continue to return every time we are here!
Yes, this is the Hotel that Charlie Chaplin just loved and you will too. We stayed here just one night but it was delightful. A great location, good restaurants and the small town of Waterville is also very quaint. Had a great sleep in a historic hotel.
