I cannot recommend the Butler Arms highly enough, be sure to visit. My husband and I spent a few weekends there last summer. There is always a warm welcome from the moment you arrive in the hotel. Stunning location and great views from the bedrooms. The dining room had a major revamp last year and the surroundings match the delicious food. A wide ranging menu but the seafood is the star and the crab gratin a particular favorite of ours. Always service with a smile and great food, what more could you want! Re a previous review, we were in the restaurant for the New Years Eve dinner. The Hotel is usually closed at this time of the year and we always really appreciate that they open for New Years Eve. We found the food superb, were always aware of the cost and thought it was great value for money and a great night out. Looking forward to when the hotel is open again and we can enjoy their warm hospitality and great food…
I visited with a group of my friends for dinner only. We ordered main courses which we all enjoyed and drinks for the table. Upon arrival of the bill we were all charged €50 for a set meal which we had only had a main course. The staff did not inform us the set menu was the only option as of course we would have had three courses knowing this. We were quite upset and they told us we could pay €40 for the meal not including the drinks. This is still ridiculous for a main course only. I was so upset over the poor service offered to us in relation to this and the treatment from the management when we queried this. I will never return on account of this.
Often called in to this hotel for food and drinks over many years ,so we decided to stay there on the 28th of dec. We were met by very friendly staff at reception on our arrival who showed us to our room overlooking the sea.The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean .We had dinner that night which you couldn't fault. if you are looking for accommodation in Waterville you won't beat this hotel for comfort and value.
