We were passing by and decided to stop in for a bite. The place was absolutely immaculate. The food was excellent and the beer was cold! Great conversation with the host, presumably the owner. We did not stay here but wish we did. If the pub is any reflection on the accommodations, then I doubt there would be a better... More

Lovely warm welcome on a cold February day when everywhere else in the area seemed to be closed for the season. We were really lucky to come across the Irish Arms. A beautiful pint, and very tasty chowder and toasties. Well worth a visit if you are in the area and want a pit stop.

I stayed in this Bed and Breakfast in Mid August. It was clean, comfortable and central. Shower Room was small but for the price I was not expecting luxuries but I must say everything was in this B+B including Tea and Coffee making facilities. I booked a twin room and got a Room with two double beds which were very... More

Me and my girlfriend found the Irish arms by chance as we were heading back to Shannon after a weekend in galway. It is really a lovely pub and the food was fantastic the portions were generous and the service was very good and friendly. Myself & my girlfriend were doing the tourist thing in Ireland, when we happened upon Lisdoonvarna. we went into the market across the road to find an ATM, the clerk said there wasn't one in town but if we were looking to have lunch, we should try at the pub across the road. We did & we were delighted to... More

Hi there. It is good to know that we are still recommended by other local business as a great place to dine. The Bacon & Cabbage and Beef in Guinness Stew are hugely popular. Call in again next time you are nearby and thank you so much for the recommendations to other people you met on your travels. Much appreciated!! More

I've been to Irish arms twice. It's a great place to experience the pub atmosphere, great service, great food and the locals. The pub/restaurant guarantees an excellent time for those who want to eat in a very Irish pub/restaurant. Lisdoonvarna has the best festival for singles in Ireland (September every year). Even if you're not around at this time go... More

6 of us stayed here, the rooms are small but more than big enough, the only complaint we had was we could hear all our neighbours talk and cough, luckily they went to sleep early. The pub was good and served great meals. I highly recommend the Guinness Irish Stew, the best one we had on our trip. All followed... More

Lisdoonvarna drew my attention from movies and The Irish Arms drew my heart upon arrival. I was new to the 'B&B' experience so I was not sure what to expect. Located at the end of town The Irish Arms is family run, literally - son tends bar, Dad serves breakfast. Mom probably cooks...food was delicious but we did not meet... More

We stayed here on the advice of some freinds who stayed here earlier in the year. It is run by a very nice family who helped us out with getting good deals on all the local attractions. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Irish Arms is a small family run Pub, Restaurant and B & B situated in Lisdoonvarna, Co Clare. All of our spacious rooms are tastefully decorated, and we try our best to offer our guests all of the comforts they would be accustomed to at home. We have single, twin, and double rooms available. This landmark pub has been owned and run since 1990 by The McNamara Family. Our varied food Menu caters for most tastes, with a strong leaning towards Traditional Irish Food. We serve Soups and Chowders, Seafood and Steaks, as well as our famous Bacon & Cabbage, and Beef in Guinness Stew. Lisdoonvarna itself is famous for its Sulpur Spa Wells and the September Matchmaking Festival, not to mention the song by Christy Moore. We are an ideal place to stay while visiting North Clare's many famous tourist attractions, such as The Burren, The Cliffs of Moher, The Ailwee and Doolin Caves, and Aran Island Ferries (Discount for guests) all a short 10 minute drive away. We are conveniently located at the top of the town on the main Galway Road (N67) and only 200 metres from Lisdoonvarna Town Centre. We look forward to seeing you soon at The Irish Arms soon!! ... more   less
