Had dinner only at the house, did not stay. Henry made us feel very welcome when we arrived and we had time to see some of the rooms on the ground floor. The house has great character. There was no choice on the menu but it didn't matter, everything was excellent. The cheese board was the best I ever remember... More

The best place we have stayed in Ireland. Excellent, descret and still friendly service in the cosiest house you can imagine. We appreciated the view to the lake, the fishing, the aftenoon tea, the dog and the ballgame, Russian Bagatelle. And the lovely homemade food! Henry, you have a marvellous place. Don't change a thing. Will love to come back.

A unique experience from beginning to end, we stayed in Currarevagh House in May. The family have been running a guest house for a few hundred years; it's in their blood. The food, the accommodation (guest house standard), the service, the surroundings - everything is just incredible. A delightful treat for a sneaky couples getaway.

You get a genuine warm welcome on arrival to this charming, old world house. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing break in a beautiful setting with great service and good food, this is exactly what we got when we stayed for 3 nights. Dinner (served at 8 for everyone) is a 4 course set menu so if you... More

Step back into an Ireland of genteel country house hospitality. Relaxed and tranquil on the shore of the beautiful Lough Corrib half an hour north of Galway lies this gem of a place to stay. Henry and Lucy are the perfect hosts and Mum June is a wonderful presence at breakfast. Dinner is a must because not only is Lucy... More

We spent four wonderful days at this remarkable country home in Ireland, on Loch Corrib, just north of Galway city. This was a return visit for us - we stayed here ten years ago during a trip celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Since then, Harry (the proprietor) has retired and the home is now splendidly run by his son Henry.... More

We had two nights and two wonderful meals (and great breakfast) at Currarevagh House and would highly recommend to anybody who is looking for a warm, very beautiful home to stay in. The family atmosphere and the comfortable and sociable nature of the stay we found to be lovely.

First of All a super duper quiet place, leave all your stress and worries behind.. located at a very remote location, must have your own card or rental to reach there, roads are decently marked and can be located easily.. The place is wonderful, practically on top of lake with beautiful rooms and loverly services.. we are vegetarians and had... More

This was our third visit to the Currarevagh House, and this will have to be the last review as I have exhausted the superlatives I know. The Hodgsons have mastered the art of hospitality. Henry is delightful, an equable and interesting host, always there when you need him. His mother, June, is lovely and kind. She knows everything about the... More
