After visiting Howth for over 30 years, had never eaten at the East Café Bar at the King Sitric. We have eaten upstairs, one evening many years ago, but it was not open the lunchtime we visited. Great chowder, great Irish craft beer, helpful staff and I had a "Howth Salad Nicoise". Not much salad which is good with plenty...

Oysters, great beer, atmosphere. Nice way to finish the walk. the staff were really friendly. Local beer. even if you are in Dublin is worth it just to go to eat there. Fish freshly caught. Nice view if you sit outside

We Booked the special offer for dinner, bed and breakfast through Blue Book. We wanted a treat to recover after doing the Gaelforce Dublin adventure race. Howth is beautiful and was looking particularly picturesque as the sun broke through the clouds. The hotel is great, lovely boutique rooms (and we got a complimentary upgrade to a penthouse suite 😃) the...

Fantastic small hotel with sea views and an excellent fish restaurant. I would highly recommend and we will be going back again. We found the rooms to be a good size with a chic bathroom, well maintained. The restaurant was one of the best I've visited with a good selection of freshly caught fish on the menu. I'm not a...

We were a group here for study for a week. Joan and Angus could not have been better! The breakfasts were sumptuous and extremely well-prepared, of local products delivered to them almost daily. ( Have the grilled fish for breakfast--amazing!) My colleague and I shared a double room that faced the Irish Sea. The room was small, but extremely well-appointed,...

The King Sitric is tops. I have stayed here twice for a graduate school residency and once on holiday and it can't be beat for hospitality and quality. Howth is a fun seaside town and the Sitric is quite literally at the end of the pier on the water, so the sound of waves and gulls rolls into the seaside...

This is a fantastic restaurant with rooms. Staff are super friendly and the dinner and breakfast menu are outstanding. Everything cooked to order. The personal touches and genuine friendliness of staff is brilliant. I just wish we had been staying more than 1 night. This is a superb place to eat and stay. Loved everything about it

We wished that we had stayed here instead of Dublin. There is frequent service into Dublin, the setting is lovely (right on the harbour front), the room was delightfully decorated, the staff friendly, the dinner excellent and the breakfast the best we had in Ireland. The town is bustling with shops and restaurants.

For over 20 years the King Sitric restaurant has perfected the art of cooking fresh fish . Served by intelligent polite waiters in a pleasant room with spectacular views . No gimmicks , no hanging nets or lobster pots , no nonsense . This is a real restaurant run by real people , believe me this is the real deal...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Established in 1971, Aidan and Joan MacManus have earned an international reputation for fresh seafood in their harbour-side restaurant in the picturesque fishing village of Howth. In 1999, they extensively rebuilt their old Harbour Master's house, relocating the restaurant to the first floor with panoramic seaviews, and adding eight guest bedrooms. All the bedrooms are named after Lighthouses and have sea-views. DINING Fresh fish landed daily on Howth Pier, oysters and mussels from the west, lobster caught by our own fishermen in Balscadden Bay are among our specialities. Enjoy a pre-dinner drink in our East Cafe Bar while choosing your wine from our outstanding Wine List. National Hospitality Awards Best Seafood Restaurant 2014. We are situated in the golfing heartland of North County Dublin and for sailors Howth Marina is three minutes walk. Enjoy a gentle stroll on the Pier before breakfast or a more energetic hike on the unspoilt Cliff Path and the trails of Howth Head. For business, shopping or sightseeing, Dublin City is only 25 minutes by Dart. Dublin Airport 25 minutes. ... more   less
