The name "House B&B" could be confusing...it's more a small castle overlooking Bantry Bay. Only 6 rooms overlooking the gardens in the back. Take the time to visit the gardens and the house (free for B&B guests), it's fantastic and full of history. The breakfast was excellent, pancakes, porridge, scrambled eggs, everything we tasted was good. 2 minor issues :... More

We had a fantastic stay at Bantry House. The house was magnificent. The B&B was well appointed and very comfy. Breakfast was great. The staff were really friendly. We flew in to Bantry House by light aircraft. A wonderful experience. Gardens were beautiful.

What a lovely experience, it's hard to know where to begin. The house is amazing with a breathtaking view of the bay. Our rooms were spacious & comfortable overlooking the formal gardens in the back. The wisteria was in full bloom and couldn't have been prettier. The White family was welcoming and helpful with any questions we had. Sitting in... More

Booking early for 2 nights we got a great deal at Bantry House. When we arrived we realized it was even better than expected. Our room was large and comfortable with views over the formal garden. Sitting in the library of a grand house at night with a log fire burning it was easy to daydream that you were the... More

Worth a visit just for a tour of the palatial interiors, gardens and the view. For the cost of an over night stay, you get all of the fore mentioned plus the B&B wing is connected to the grand library's where a drInk can be enjoyed along with a fire in the massive fireplace. CharmIng elegance is the best description... More

Where to start? Staying four nights at Bantry House was the highlight of our 2+ weeks in Ireland. Living like a lord (an early, actually) was a unique experience. This 47 room mansion, dating from the mid-1700s has been in the same family for ten generations. While the house itself is less than pristine (it’s a lot to keep up),... More

I tell you the best bit about staying here is when all the visitors leave for the day and you get the property to yourselves. B&b guests have access to the library with a roaring fire, 18th century piano and a honesty bar! We had a family room which was beautifully renovated and very comfortable. For dinner we walked down... More

Passing through Bantry on a lengthy road trip I decided it would be interesting to stay at Bantry House - a place I associated with house tours and classical music concerts. The gate for the B/B section is cunningly concealed at the town side of the estate so it took an effort to find my way in. As I circled... More

Great location overlooking the Bay and it's worth climbing the steps in the garden for the complete setting. As a resident, private and quiet access to the grounds after all the visitors had left. Although the rear gardens had fallen into disrepair, it seemed that there were plans to re-establish the planting and we just caught glimpses of the Wisteria... More

Bantry House and gardens are superbly situated having fine views of the Bay, and being easily found as adjacent to the N71, and a great opportunity to stay in a stately home, but early booking is advisable (I booked last December, but only one night was available). My Wife and I enjoyed our stay in the spacious, well furnished and... More
