Detailed Reviews
We just stayed here overnight as we were meeting with our grandchildren on the last leg of our staycation. Right from the start we felt it was a good spot. Lovely male receptionist checked us in even though it was nearly 2 hours early and we didn’t expect it. There’s a lovely atmosphere about the place and the rooms were nice and clean. The room was a good size but was incredibly warm, even at night it was roasting. The bathroom was fine with plenty of everything. The shower was in the bath but the shower head was powerful with plenty of pressure.
The meal that night was just bar food as most restaurants in hotels are closed. Nice food but only a small choice. They gave us plenty of notice when last orders were being served.
Breakfast next morning was lovely and the lady went out of her way to look after the grandkids even though they’d no interest in eating, only interested in wrestling each other on the floor.
Carrick-on-Shannon is a lovely town with plenty of pubs and restaurants to suit everyone’s taste. Hopefully this Covid will soon be under control and the town and hotel can offer its full potential.

Stayed at The Landmark on Saturday for a family celebration, from the second we arrived we were looked after like royalty, the place was dressed beautifully for Christmas and a fab tree to greet us, so festive. We went to the Broadwalk Cafe which is just lovely and bright and great views of the marina, we had a wonderful afternoon tea, which was fab (scones and strawberry cake were especially good!) lovely staff looking after us, and offered to box up anything that was left over. We then checked into rooms which were lovely/clean/warm and really good quality products in bathrooms!
We had a wander around town which was nice considering the weather was damp and miserable (used the brollys the staff in Landmark gave us to mind the hair!)and we had a pleasant visit to one or two beautiful bars in town Mc Hughs and Flynn’s and the lovely shops! Back to hotel,Dinner was in the bar, buzzing with atmosphere and served promptly considering how busy it was, had The curry which was amazing, spicy and served beautifully as was all the food, COD risotto delicious, everyone more than happy. Desserts were outstanding, traditional knickerbocker glory so retro and fab, but the bread and butter pudding a must try, recommended by the staff! Great wines and cocktail selection, and of course the local Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin! We attended the Three Amigo Concert In the adjacent ballroom which was fantastic, easy to get drinks before and during the show and plenty staff on hand to assist anyone!
Wonderful breakfast next morning fresh/hot great selection, great coffee too and again very pleasant staff, we checked out and were looked after well by the wonderful Marie and we decided to stay for lunch, which was really good! Can’t say enough about this hotel and the genuine hospitality that they give to guests, and lovely to see so many locals working there too and all happy to chat and take care of your needs!
Can’t wait to get back
Keep up the great work Landmark Team

The hotel is in a lovely location and very central.
Ate here Friday night with my family and the food and service was exceptional. Our waitress Gráinne was very friendly and attentive she went above and beyond for us despite it being very busy and having her hands full. The curry was delicious and the steaks were cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend both. All staff around us were wearing masks and cleaning menus after every use.

We were very lucky and upgraded to a suite as we were celebrating an anniversary. Room was spacious and clean, there were a few items missing eg Robes and glasses, I presume this was to do with Covid practices? However couldn't really justify having cups but no glasses in the room?? Some traffic noise but view more than makes up for this.
Bathroom was spotless, however a few cracked tiles and sink, handles on door were not matching, silver on one side, brass on other, probably due a revamp.
Staff were very efficient and polite. We ate at the Boardwalk on both evenings, good food, friendly waiting staff Maeve and Ryan. Breakfast however was very limited choice, full irish, mini irish or continental, I would have expected more choice from a Hotel of its size and quality.

I organized my friends baby shower in the landmark hotel and the service was amazing from start to finish. I could not rate the hotel, food and staff highly enough.
The Afternoon Tea was amazing and very reasonably priced, there was some cakes left over which the waitress kindly offered to box up and sent home with the group. The waitress was brilliant she was on hand making sure everyone had enough tea and coffee all the time.
We had 6 children attending and the hotel set up a table especially for them with they had crayons and paper to keep the kids entertained. They also made sure there was a children’s menu available for the Kids as they were not lightly to want afternoon tea.
Matt and his team really done a fantastic job and everyone was so happy with the day.
We will be back.
Definitely recommend.

This is a good hotel no mistake. However the rooms at the front with the fine view of the lake and amenity area is right next to the very busy N4 main road and the traffic noise is very bad especially late at night with heavy trucks hauling goods to and fro. So if you can bear the summer heat and keep the windows closed then it’s happy days but if you can’t it’s sleepless nights.
The staff are really very good and I can’t praise them enough, attentive and pleasant and professional. Rooms are clean and tidy and comfortable, however some fittings and fixtures could be attended to.
The restaurant was in full Covid 19 protocol mode and was well managed generally. The food choice was restricted because of the Covid need to keep menus manageable but the choice was still very acceptable a d the quality excellent.
It was fairly quiet during the visit as the easing of the lockdown was just getting underway. Carrick-on-Shannon has quite an interesting restaurant choice and the area is packed full of really interesting places and activities.

As friends do, we booked afternoon tea here to finish off a wonderful day of togetherness. Our table was ready and waiting for us and service was prompt and friendly. You are offered choice of tea or coffee as you are seated, then the three teired delight arrives. Pretty as a picture with a choice of tasty sandwiches on top, then freshly cooked scones with whipped cream to the side and finally an array of delicious gateaux. We spent a lovely few hours enjoying same and even brought home the left overs. Book it in advance and advice them of any dietary requirements. You have the choice of having a glass of bubbly for a few extra euro :) We thoughly enjoyed the setting, looking out through the glass windows onto the Shannon with the sun smiling down on us. Absolute bliss, how else would you spend a Saturday afternoon with best buddies. We loved it, do book in advance and enjoy

The Landmark created a great experience for our wedding. We got married in COVID times and things were very unpredictable. On the day, the landmark pulled out all the stops to ensure that restrictions didn’t get in the way of our big day. The staff effortlessly implemented the COVID standards and sanitiser was freely available. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and very understanding to all our guests, which included small children. The venue itself is excellent with views of the Shannon which lends itself to fabulous photographs and the private room for the wedding party was a great place to recoup and catch up with each other after all the photos. Having our wedding in the landmark, as locals from Carrick, was something that was very important to us and the treatment on the day cemented our decision as it truly was a day to remember and one we will never forget.

My husband has recently become a wheelchair user and is reluctant to go to new and unfamiliar places as not everywhere is wheelchair friendly. I booked a room with disabled friendly bathroom. Room was spacious and en-suite was excellent. We had booked 2 nights B&B and a 4 course evening meal. The food was outstanding, the service was excellent. The staff worked extremely hard and efficiently throughout dinner and on both mornings for breakfast. Everything was done to perfection. Staff had a clear routine of clearing and cleaning with minimal fuss or disruption. All staff were trained to the same high standard. Their customer service was also excellent. At no time did we feel rushed and had ample time for a 4 course meal and a few drinks. Very well done to management and all staff. We had a really enjoyable stay in the Landmark hotel. We felt safe and comfortable. Only regret is we didn’t stay longer. We will def return in the future
