All hotels are bricks and mortar and what sets them apart is their staff. The employee’s attention to detail in The Trident is second to none. We first stayed in the Trident in 2000 and have been back at various times throughout the last 22 years. The cozy, homely atmosphere is fantastic but it’s the employee’s attention to detail, friendly demeanour and smiling faces that really set’s this place apart. Never change and we will be back again. Great location in Kinsale with parking. Easy walk to restaurants and shops. Very close to the harbor. Room was clean with a large bath and comfortable chairs to enjoy the beautiful harbor view. Nice breakfast room with large selection of buffet items along with a cooked to order breakfast.

The Trident Hotel is modern with large clean rooms. Our room overlooked the sparkling harbour. During our stay there was a wedding taking place which made parking quite challenging. There are nearby restaurants along the waterfront. It's a wonderful hotel which was quite relaxing for my wife and I. The staff was very friendly.

This was our fifth visit in as many years and we would never choose to stay anywhere else in the area. Apart from the location and views, the rooms are comfortable and well appointed, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the food at breakfast and in the Wharf Tavern is delicious and plentiful. We have always had an executive room in the past although have only ever paid the basic rate. This time, however I was told that we would have a classic room, which was smaller and not front facing. We needn't have worried though because we had room 219 which, although smaller, had possibly the best view in the hotel. Right at the far end with two full walls of window. So we had views of the harbour in both directions. Looking forward to our next visit.

Booked here as it was the best known hotel in Kinsale, but after staying at the River Lee the night before I was a bit disappointed to be honest. The whole place, decor, rooms just felt a bit old and tired. The walls are paper thin, so once people are up and about so are you. The rooms themselves were ok in terms of space and view though. Not having its own hotel bar wasn't great, we had to have a drink in the Wharf Tavern which is quite small and not where you want to spend time. Breakfast was pretty ordinary too, items forgotten on the fry some cold, some burnt. Just not very good. In the summer I can imagine its a nice place to be, but a cold wet November day not so much.

The view from room 221 was perfect, sea view and could also watch the fisherman on the wharf. The standard room itself is perfectly adequate with everything you could need but what was surprising to me was how quiet everything was, I have had many hotel experiences where the staff are chatting and very noisy while you are still trying to sleep. Not this one and we were able to sleep in late and have a good rest. Breakfast is also at a nice relaxing pace starting at 8:30 until 10 and it is plentiful with lots of choice on cold buffet and hot menu. You can have dinner in the Wharf Tavern which we did not as we unfortunately had other restaurants booked before arriving but went there for a drink every evening before heading off for dinner and the staff are fantastic! Thank you to Peter on reception for sorting out our tea addiction with an additional supply and to Niall from housekeeping for delivering it with a smile and fantastic attitude. Would definitely return to this hotel again.

Kinsale is a beautiful port town with amazing food. We're giving the Trident 5 stars for the amazing staff in the bar/restaurant and also the restaurant / breakfast offering in the morning. Catarina for example is one of the best waitresses we've ever had on either side of the Atlantic. The harbor views are beautiful, and the price for the experience is an excellent value. The front desk staff was good but, for superior service, they may want to take a lesson from the restaurant wait staff. Unlike other hotels in Dublin, the front desk staff did not go above and beyond as was our experience in Dingle, Dublin and Wicklow.

Excellent overall, only problem was lack of parking at the hotel. Food service and drink were excellent. I can recommend it to anyone, first class hotel. I will definitely visit again and lap up the luxury.

Terrific 3 night stay in the Trident in room 207 with fabulous views out to the harbour. Room was well decorated and spacious with a very large comfortable bed, bathroom was huge and the room contained everything that we needed for our stay, room was cleaned every day. There are various relaxing seating areas around the hotel along with the restaurant/bar and all areas were spotlessly clean and very well decorated. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, check in/out was very quick and efficient, I would have no hesitation in staying here again.

The least friendly hotel we stayed in during our trip Desk clerk (Tara?) was the most unfriendly. Good views from our room. Located at the end of the road on the far side of town. But a very short walk into town.
