I didn't stay here but I did eat here & the service was faultless, the food was lovely & the desserts were amazing, huge portion though but beautifully presented. Music in bar was different, 1st night it was a group called Sonny & friends, a mix of acoustic & vocal, unusual & thoroughly enjoyable. 2nd night was The friends without... More

I really wanted to like this place. Comfortable, clean, great staff, and one of the best breakfasts I had in Ireland. And you could argue it is the most perfect location in town, if it wasn't for the noise. The windows don't block out any sound at all. I can't recall ever complaining about this before at any hotel, but... More

We stayed one night in this lovely hotel. The room was lovely and the beds were soooo comfortable! Breakfast was tasty. My one and only gripe is that we waited a long time to be served in the bar for food despite given the menu. Probably an oversight but we were starving and ended up eating later that we wanted.... Spent two nights at the Blue Haven, did not want to leave! Perfect location right in the heart of Kinsale. Spoilt for choice in terms of where to eat within the hotel and surrounding areas. The rooms were clean and cosy, my favourite part being that you can order from a 'pillow menu' :) Staff are welcoming and friendly and... More

Old has its charm, but not when it comes to the carpet, mattress and chairs in your room. The carpet was soiled and when we sat on the bed we thought it was a water bed. Saw housekeeping place the 'fresh' towels on the hallway floor (unwrapped). Very small spaces and floors were not level. The staff was friendly and... More

We stayed in lovely Kinsale for two nights and loved the Blue Haven Hotel. The location was perfect, and right in the heart of the city. Easy and quick walk to the towns many excellent restaurants, pubs, shops and a few sightseeing spot (churches, castle, etc.). The hotel additionally had a trendy and popular restaurant, bar and coffee shop. The... More

Called here after a walk around Kinsale checking out the big houses on the hill and the yachts in the harbour. We were shown to a table on entering and the staff were quick to take your order.Food in the bar was serving full cooked breakfasts or different types of toast. (French) or morning coffee and scones .If you like... More

Very nice decor and surroundings. Food was only average. And that's being kind. Chowder had very little fish, burger was way over cooked and not a massive fan of the bun it is served in. Desert was probably the best part of the meal.

For an mid week stay this hotel was overpriced and not value for money. The lady at repection was unpleasant and rude. The room we stay in was an odd shape and very old fashioned. There was no air conditioning all I had in our room was an rubbish fan!!
