We booked a room for two nights in August 2019, we then had to cancel the booking 6 days before we were due to check in as my mother in law became seriously ill. The owner accepted the cancellation and offered us a credit note for one night’s stay. My mother in law then sadly passed away the day before we were due to stay at Perryville House. We understood the refund policy, and did not expect a refund especially as they are a small family run business, but given the extenuating circumstances we thought it was reasonable to ask for a credit note for the two night stay. After sending two emails they finally replied and said they would still only give us a credit note for a one night stay despite telling them that my mother in law had passed away. We felt this was unfair and when I rang to discuss the matter further I was told by a member of staff (that was up to speed with the situation) that we did not give 7 days cancellation notice and they had bills and staff to pay so we would not get a credit note for the full amount. The staff member was very rude and aggressive on the phone. The owner never bothered to return my call. Needless to say we will never ever stay at Perryville House after the way we were treated by the owner and staff.…
This was our first visit to Kinsale and we stayed at the Perryville House....what a treat!! The House is so lovely and comfortable inside. The guest rooms are large and very plush. Breakfast was in cozy surroundings and very tasty. Location is great and walking was easy here. We will definitely stay here again.
This was our second time in Kinsale and the first at Perryville House. What a treat! Perryville offers a beautiful home, cozy and impeccably furnished. From the moment you enter, you feel like a privileged guest on holiday in a fine seaside home. The staff go out of their way to help. They are welcoming and charming, bending over backwards to make sure your stay is extraordinary. Both Emily and Francis were simply outstanding. Every night when we arrived back after being out on the town, they were there to greet us and as us about our adventures. Need a cab or a dinner reservation? They make it happen! We stayed in room 27 which was at the back of the home with a lovely view of the garden and fountain. It was very quiet, private and so comfortable that I didn’t want to get out of the bed in the morning! The bath is huge with motion activated lights in case you need to get up in the middle of the night. The fragrance in the bath was also so lovely, it was like walking into a fragrant garden. The breakfast in the morning lacks for nothing- you have everything you could possibly want to eat including fresh made breads and jams which were delicious. The only criticism I could make is that the carpet, which I believe is sisal, is beautiful but a little scratchy on bare feet, so wear socks whilst in your room and its all good. One thing my husband and I know for certain- we will be back to wonderful Kinsale and when we do, we will stay at the luxurious and welcoming Perryville House! Thank you for making our stay so delightful. …
We stayed in the waterfront second story room - a bit pricey but absolutely grand. Woke up to views of the water and boats and all of Kinsale. Bed was comfy and bath was grandly outfited. But our experiece revolved around staff who really did go the extra mile to make your stay special. The Irish breakfast was the best we had during our stay (and that is saying a lot given where we stayed). The bartender in the little hotel pub made our stay special with good advice about sightseeing and drink. We asked for a taxi to be called to drive us to Charles Fort and a return walk to the hotel. Taxis were all busy so Andrew drove us out to the fort. Staff made our dinner reservations at yummy restaurants.I need a fan to sleep and one was provided. And the location is perfect for enjoying Kinsale dining and pubs. Go here!…
We loved the Perryville. I can't think of a lovelier place to stay. Everything about it was wonderful including the guest rooms, the many living rooms, dining room and the view of the harbor. The breakfast was fantastic and served in the most professional way. Everything was a short walk. Finally - the service - amazing, every single person who worked at the hotel went out of their way to make our stay wonderful! Point in fact I had a bout with a wall on the super small roads. We needed a tire replaced and they told us they would get a new one and have it replaced and we could settle up in the morning. "Enjoy your day" they said to us. I want to go back.
