Fifth trip to stay with Jimmie and it is always a pleasure. The b&b is very well located to walk all of Kinsale. Great shopping, pubs and a very scenic harbor. Great breakfasts and a really cool 16th century b&b. We'll be back soon! Highly recommended.

Booked online months ago after reading numerous reviews. The owner whose name is Jimmie was very helpful with directions as we were using public transportation during our 3 week visit to Ireland. Kinsale has enough going on to merit 2 days which was perfect for us. Jimmie helped with restaurant and pub information and knows most of what is going on around town. San Antonio house felt "real" and was very comfortable. We like to try local foods and the breakfast was excellent including home made brown bread and porridge...the best we had during our Ireland travels. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet and clean which worked for us as I am a light sleeper. The shower system was a bit confusing but we worked it out and the only issue I will raise is that "black out" curtains would have darkened the room and made it easier for me to sleep. My wife had no problems there. I rate "San Antonio" and Jimmie the best of the 5 modest places we stayed at during our trip. L&B San Francisco

Just spent 3 fabulous nights at The San Antonio in Kinsale. In addition to being a perfect location to explore Kinsale, Jimmie provides an excellent breakfast along with clean, charming rooms that are spacious and very comfortable. The historic building itself is fascinating and Jimmie is a fount of helpful information. Check out the old Bakelite radio still in use in the Breakfast Room.

I'm telling you, even your cynical old Aunt Fanny couldn't resist Jimmies hospitality.

Jimmie was a wonderful host. Great communication and reasonable priced. Beautiful B&B filled with lovely antiques. Room was very nice, with a pretty view. The location was terrific. Ample parking in public lot less than a block down the road.

Stayed one night in Kinsale on a tour through Southern Ireland. San Antonio house was lovely. Great location. Only 2 blocks from the Main Street with loads of restaurants, shops and pubs. The room was very comfortable with a large bathroom. Jimmy the host was amazing! Very friendly. He gave suggestions for things to do and even a weather forecast in the morning. The breakfast was fabulous too! Highly recommend staying here.

San Antonio B&B is in central Kinsale, walking distance to everything, yet quiet for sleeping. It is located in a lovely 200 year old house that the host, Jimmie, grew up in. He has lovingly restored the home. It is tastefully decorated and is clean and uncluttered. Someone else commented that the rooms were simple and that's true, but they offer all that is needed plus an extra blanket and pillows if you need them. Our room had a recently renovated bathroom that while small, managed to pack in all the essentials plus shelves to set your things upon. Who could ask for more?

Jimmie is a soft-spoken, obviously kind man. He has much to offer about Kinsale and the surrounding area and is helpful without being intrusive. He makes great porridge (oatmeal) plus breakfast made to order. Only in Ireland have I had two course breakfasts! This was our first B&B of the trip so at the time I had nothing to compare, but now I know I favored his breakfast above all others!

If there was one thing that made the stay less than perfection, it was the firmness of the mattress and pillows. I had read beforehand that this was fairly typical of Irish beds, but honestly, all the others on our two week stay were more comfortable. Absolutely NOT a reason to pass this B&B up. It was one of our favorites of the trip.

We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at the Saint Antonio Bed & Breakfast. In terms of nuts and bolts, the room was comfortable, offered everything we needed, and was clean, no spectacular amenities, just a cozy functional room with character. The breakfast was brilliant, a full Irish breakfast with the option of porridge, alongside fresh bread, squeezed juices, coffee or tea, and all the fixings. Beyond the food, what really impressed me was the homey atmosphere of the dining room, from the old radio and decorations to the tableware, dishes and jars. Saint Antonio's is a great value for this alone, but what makes this place truly unique and memorable is the owner and proprietor Jimmy. He is very knowledgeable of the area and his insights into Kinsale, whether it be about restaurants, pubs, activities, or directions proved valuable. For example, one of our best meals of the trip came from his recommendation of The Steakhouse. Jimmy reminded me of a friendly, caring professor, always willing to give a token of wisdom alongside good direction. Our experience at the Saint Antonio is the reason we love and prefer Bed & Breakfast's over hotels

In a lovely slate-shingled 18th century building, this was the cutest darn B&B of our stay in Ireland. The location is right downtown, but quiet, and with parking reserved for guests. Our room was a nice size, the bed was very comfortable and the bath was great. Breakfasts were very good. Our host Jimmie is funny, warm, erudite and helpful, and we really enjoyed talking with him. If we were lucky enough to come back to Kinsale, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

What a wonderful host Jimmie is... From the moment of booking, to lots of practical suggestions and answers to myriad questions before arrival and excellent breakfasts, we could not have asked for more!! Our rooms were a good size and well appointed. San Antonio is close to the centre but in a quieter street with pubs and restaurants within easy reach. Would recommend this B&B and would definitely go back again.

In addition to all the other comments about Jimmy, He calls everyone by name. I left a shirt behind and Jimmy sent it to me in Canada and wouldn't hear of me compensating him for his out of pocket. Every now and then in life you meet a really nice person who genuinely wants to add to the occasion, that's Jimmy

Hi Meg, My stay was booked through a tour company I was with. Jimmy is very old school, no website. I believe you just call to make reservations. This is the number I have 021 477 2341. I think the country code is +353. Hope this helps! Cat

Very sorry to say that trip advisor does not allow the posting of any contact info. I would suggest either an internet search by name of the B&B, contacting the tourism office in Kinsale, or also I know he is listed in a few different guide books. good luck!
