A LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN We chose Huvafen Fushi for our third trip back to the Maldives. We booked for 3 weeks into the “Cube” Villa which is the biggest room for two adults. Or though it can accommodate 4 adults or two children. The island is a 30-minute speed boat ride from Male Airport, if possible we would recommend using the CIP service for the transfer from the plane to the Resort speed boat or seaplane, as the new airport terminal building is still being built (looks no different than the last year) it is not a great experience arriving! as with the CIP service it is all painless and you get to sit in a nice aircon lounge while they get your luggage. We forgot to arrange this going out but we booked through the resort (our butler) for our return trip home and it was worth every penny. On arrival on the Island, we were warmly greeted by Noel General Manager, who throughout our stay was around a fair bit supporting the other staff and speaking with the guests which we felt was very positive. Noel introduced us to our Butler, Nazeeh, who took us and our luggage to our new home for the next 3 weeks the Cube. We instantly fell in love with it, Nazeeh showed us around and explained he would be looking after us for our whole time on the Island. As we settled in Nazeeh enquired what our preferred drinks would be in the Cube and that he would arrange any activities we may wish to participate in and which restaurants we wanted to eat in each night. Nazeeh proved to be the best “butler” he was always there when we needed him and arranged all the many activities we undertook. We had pre-booked the Silver Cruise for a private day tour and had to move it serval times due to the weather conditions not being “just right” and Nazeeh ensured he kept us informed every day of the changes. Nazeeh prepared a lovely day-by-day programme of what activities and dinners we attended and kept it updated as we changed our minds or had to move things around. In the end, I came home with a full schedule of what we had done as a lovely reminder. The Island is small enough to walk around easily and the Cube is very central so we did not have to go far to get to anything. But you can have a buggy taking you to each place if required. It was our wedding anniversary on the 17th of February so we had pre-booked the Latitude 4’ underwater dinner experience. It was amazing, the best dining experience we have ever had. Nazeeh was on hand to ensure all was perfect and it could not have been more perfect, the food was amazing and introduced by the amazing chef Shafy, at each course, the surroundings were stunning watching all the sea life around us, they had decorated it beautifully, then suddenly a diver appeared in the ocean waving a Happy Anniversary sign. It was so funny and a lovely added touch. We later discovered the mystery diver was the Marine Biologist Hamid, whom we later got to meet when we were treated to a meeting with him, and he introduced us to all the Corel in darkness back in the spa. Later during our time on the island had a couple's underwater spa massage, which was truly wonderful. I went to the spa a fair few more times and had two “Huvafen Glow” treatments and a manicure which were super all with the lovely Dyan (therapist) who did all my treatments, which was a nice touch having the same therapist each time. We both attended the complimentary yoga session several times, with Farrah, who is an amazing lovely Yoga teacher, at 7:45 am on the open-air pavilion an invigorating start to the day. I also went to the gym nearly every day, it is well-equipped and has a great view out to the Indian Ocean where I saw dolphins a few times swimming past. Breakfast is served in Celsius until 10:30 am, but they were quite relaxed as we were always the last ones still there! Lots of variety and beautifully prepared hot and cold food. I would have fruit every day cut up freshly and they soon got to know what I wanted each day. Once again Nazeeh(our butler) would appear just at the right time to be on hand to ensure all was perfect each morning and would always carry my bag for me. We rotated our meal destinations around the three restaurants which Nazeeh would book for us the day before. The Celsius had a good variety of food and all prepared by the excellent Chef Shafy team. The Salt is more fine dining with sushi and super fresh lobster brought to your table fresh from the sea. The Sunset cocktail bar is situated right next door to the Salt which is a perfect start to dinner. The Forno is the lunchtime venue, with a pizza oven and we would eat here at around 4 pm (latest slot) to mix things up and have a wonderful seafood pizza, Perfect. We had two dinners cooked and served on our private beach area in front of the Cube cooked beautifully by Shafy the chef, with Nazeeh on hand to make sure all went perfectly of course. There is also “Raw” another lunchtime restaurant which only prepares raw food, we did not go as I do not eat sushi. All the waiters were super and always ready to ensure all was presented well, Sadhin and Hussain were super and often our waiters. Soumyajit was the Sommelier and was so smiley and went the extra mile on every occasion. The team at Float (Water Sports) help with all water activities, snorkelling is great around the immediate area, and my husband had a catamaran lesson so then we went out a far few times. I did a Paraglide which was fun and the jet ski was super fun. We hired the Silver Yacht for the day, and this proved to be the highlight of our whole stay, the weather was perfect and the team looking after us on the Yacht was outstanding. Of course, Nazeeh was there in the morning to send us off and made sure we had everything we needed aboard. We swam with a Manta ray and while swimming we had a surprise visit from a 16 ft whale shark which was just incredible. We swam with turtles and saw some stunning coral and fish. We went in search of the dolphins and we did see a few from afar but they were fin dolphins who are not as friendly as spin dolphins so sadly we will have to wait until next time. The Yacht is stunning and we had a nice lunch with wine and beer on board, Nafiz was our snorkelling guide and looked after me at all times while in the water, (I am not the most confident) he videoed the whole day's events so we came home with some amazing underwater memories, especially of the whale shark. The Cube was amazing to stay in and Stave and Saihaan were our amazing housekeepers for the 3 weeks, they were always there when we were out (due to our Nazeeh organisation of course) they kept the Cube very clean each day twice a day and their attention to detail was outstanding as they got to know how we liked things left in the Cube. So my last comment has to go to Nazeeh our “Butler” and to be honest this is why I spent so much time writing this review ( I do many reviews but this is the longest one I have written ever!) he was outstanding in every way … he made our holiday very special. Nazeeh was always there at the right time and always with a smile and eager to attend to requests we had, or though he seemed to know what we needed before we did. He was always there as we opened the door in the morning and always there to make sure I made it in time to yoga ( I was always late) but he was there with a smile ready to carry my bag and make sure I found my way. Nazeeh is a huge asset to Huvafen Fushi, calm, professional, polite and always with a smile 😊. I will always say Nazeeh was the one who made our holiday very very special. Thank you always Nazeeh the best butler in the Maldives 😊 …
