My husband and I came to Calabash last November (2021). In my previous review I wrote that while everything about the experience is top-notch (to put it mildly), the team at Calabash are why we will return. That experience was only amplified during our most recent ten-day trip to the resort. When our car pulled into the stunning entrance to the hotel (after such an easy airport experience), one of the owners (thanks for everything and all your time and thoughtfulness, Adele!), Stephens from Food & Bev, and a member of the concierge team were there to greet us. As other reviews have mentioned, the fact that there isn't a typical check-in process helps you feel on vacation immediately. Calabash is magical – when you see the grounds spread out in front of you, it’s truly breathtaking. Everything is perfectly manicured with so many trees, flowers, and green spaces regardless of which room you stay in. This time we stayed in a Westside Suite which had a ton of living space, the MOST comfortable bed (and a dark room that made for a perfect night of sleep), and a huge, well-appointed bathroom area -- plus the balcony view of the ocean! Gabriel also helped us out with keeping our mini bar stocked each day! We opted in for an All-Inclusive experience after loving it during our time in November. Both the Beach Club and Rhodes have endless options, incredibly delicious food, and beautiful plating all thanks to the talent of Chef Castillo and his team. Grill Night and Caribbean Night at the Beach Club for dinner on Tuesday/Thursday is also a nice change of pace, though with the constant rotation of specials at Rhodes, we never got bored (more wishing some specials could be permanent, because that fennel/coconut milk risotto?! I’ve never had anything like it). I can’t get too far along without singing the upmost praises for the team at Calabash. • Mornings/lunches at the Beach Club spent with the absolutely fantastic Desiann, Miguel, Betty Ann, Vacca, Kaydell, Shandy, and Kenrick were a great way to kick off the day. Their service and friendliness means the world to us (and some of the great laughs we had!). • The Beach Bar (where we were frequent guests) team of Leslieann and Mickey were also fantastic, mixing up incredible specialty cocktails (and pouring a perfect glass of rosé) and great conversation and laughs. • Where can we even begin with Rhodes and the incredible team there? Beginning with Michael, who kept not only the professionalism, but also the laughs coming, and also the outstanding service that he, Sherlyn, Tamika, Charity, and Morissa always delivered (understatement of the year). Blown away doesn’t even cover it. • And of course, how can I forget our buddy George, who brings so many smiles, amazing cocktails, and happiness?! He's a ray of light in the bar area. Paired with Dennis, they were a dream team! The beach itself is picture perfect and so serene. In another special, attention to detail moment, one of the workers on the beach saw where we sat each day and moved our chairs to that location for us. The infinity pool is also the perfect place to relax, with sweeping views of the grounds and ocean. Clearly (based on this novel) Calabash is a place that makes you truly feel a sense of belonging – and where better to feel that than in absolute paradise! This is a place we will try to return as regularly as possible – we can’t wait to be back in November (hopefully plenty of time to restock all the rosé we consumed). Thank you all for everything!

The people at the Calabash do the impossible - they start with the perfect location and faultless service and yet they manage to get even better every time they stay there! Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and every guest is a special guest. The suites ar large, comfortable and immaculate, the service in the restaurant and everywhere in the hotel is first rate. This was visit #17. We look forward to the next.

Where do I start! I mean this place is just so beautifully located. My favourite was the morning breakfast that would be delivered to my patio every day! Delicious breakfast, freshly prepared and delivered by the most friendly and personable staff. We got a turn down service ever day, so if we were out on excursions , our room will be sharpened up every night! The food, the staff, the ambience.....I cannot even begin to describe. The drivers that were allocated to us to take us to town, to the beach and to take us to and from airport were very informative, safe drivers and very clean cars at all times. Calabash also provide information about activities for land and water and good restaurants on the Island. The welcome and farewell we got was just so hospitable!! If you want a true vacation. Calabash is the place to stay.

We enjoyed a lovely all-inclusive break here as part of a multi-centre two week package. Although the neighbourhood approach road seemed a little un-prepossessing, any apprehensions were quickly dispelled on arrival at the main reception: All the reception staff appeared, just to extend a personal welcome, with the same treatment again on departure. Being well used to interminable waits at hotel reception desks after a long flight, this change was refreshing. And an understated indication of the low-key Calabash approach to relaxation. The quality of the accommodation was first-class, and little touches of service were a delight, each and every day. Every aspect of this place has been carefully thought-out, and its daily execution is clearly a matter of professional pride. The quality and the cuisine deserves a plaudit unto itself: Quite simply, you will struggle to better it anywhere in the Caribbean. The local beach is both discreet and accessible, and perfectly adequate for a quiet escape. The facilities are all first-rate, and the Spa treatments a delight. We certainly look forward to returning to The Calabash in Grenada: It has everything you need for a tranquil getaway. One final observation, and perhaps the most telling: Without exception, ALL of the staff seemed very happy in their day-to-day routines, and clearly enjoy working there. This factor is very striking when compared with many other places we have stayed over the years. Five stars without a doubt.

Fantastic stay from start to finish. If your looking for that luxury boutique experience with great food and where you can just relax in peace this is the place. The best room we have stayed in during our travels throughout the Caribbean, still had that authentic feel but with the luxury touches. We had room 33 which was amazing with the best balcony and views, to sit and relax on in the mornings and evenings was just magic. All the food from breakfast to dinner was excellent and something for everyone, we tried a few other options for lunch however just felt the food here was always best. The half board option is fantastic value for money! For us we really enjoyed the beach club for dinner and eating with the sound of the waves in the background with the grill and Caribbean themed evenings. Great cocktails and loved the touch of complimentary canapés delivered to your suite every evening before dinner. We didn’t use the pool much as we are beach people and there was never any difficulty finding beds and no issue with people reserving beds really early. We both had a back massage, treatments was excellent. The only thing that would have been nice is the addition of a relaxation area for before/after your treatment for a drink but a very minor thing. Hotel is close to airport, st. George’s and some lovely beaches to explore. The staff are all fantastic from the breakfast team, bar/dinner staff, beach team constantly providing waters and juices and reception and also lovely to meet the hotel owners as well. We’ll done to the team that look after the gardens and beach area, always beautiful. All in all we would definitely return and will be recommending to all, thank you Calabash for such a wonderful holiday.

Having been to Cobblers in Barbados in November which was distinctly lacking in understanding of service and delivery, being at best 3 stars and in reality no more than 2, the trip back to Calabash was made with some nervousness, especially as it had been bumped multiple times since 2020 because of covid. We need not have worried. We arrived, we were welcomed by the owner as we got out of the car and the welcome was by name and said welcome back. Cobblers had an empty reception and have you been here before. The rooms are understated elegance, the bathrooms the largest I have encountered in 20 years of Caribbean travels, the attention to detail superlative and the staff have a genuine warmth. At dinner the first night, they said welcome back, they knew our names and our suites. After 17 nights at Cobblers (no more rooms) we were still being asked names and suite numbers. The food both Rhodes Restaurant and the Beach Restaurant hit the spot time after time. The spa offers multiple treatments both for all sexes and is an oasis away from the beach and near the infinity pool. The beach team are attentive and know when to bring the next refreshment out (cobblers bar staff were not even around to gone 10 am and then you had to go to them). Only disappointment was we had to leave. But we have already booked again for 2023.

Only 6 months since our last visit but what a difference without all those pesky ( but necessary ) Covid restrictions and entry requirements. As soon as we arrived, we received the special Calabash warm welcome and that friendliness from everyone at Calabash never ceased from start to finish. As ever lovely to recognise so many staff who have been there many years. Our room. - de luxe suite was excellent , well equipped and positioned and kept so spotless by the lovely housekeeping team. We always love the cocktails and canapes , the start to a lovely evening and thanks to Michael , George, SherLyn , Morissa and team who always kept an eye out for when we returned from the gym, we had something to look forward to. The gym, incidentally, is one of the best equipped of the many gyms we have experienced throughout the world , spacious and very well equipped . The Rhodes Restaurant is still a great example of what a top restaurant should be. The ambience is special, the menu is excellent , especially with the daily specials (possibly something the Beach Club could also do for lunch ) and the service is very professional and yet lightly informal at the same time. A very strong professional team led by Michael and SherLyn with George who always seems to know what you want to drink before you do! We also liked Chef Nick circulating amongst guests as it is important to gain feedback - almost certainly mainly compliments! The Beach Club restaurant is equally good , the setting is great and again service is very good under the leadership of Desi Ann well supported by her excellent staff .. We love the beach bar which is still such a lovely hub, especially after an energetic game of shuffleboard! Thanks to Leslie Ann and the team for looking after us so well at the beach and the bar. A very professional team at reception , never ceasing to smile and always ready to help. Not forgetting the garden , maintenance , beach teams who were always smiling and keeping the grounds and resort in excellent condition. Yoga was excellent and the food classes were fun and informative. Scubatech continue to provide some great dives and snorkelling together with the various watersports available. Even managed to fit in spa treatments which were very good thanks to Hanna and Cindy. We enjoyed the varied entertainment every evening and particularly the steel band who were excellent. For us what continues to make Calabash so enjoyable and one of the best hotels we stay at ( and why they win so many awards ) is the attention to detail and professionalism and friendliness of ALL the staff . We can't wait to see you all again before too long

The best hotel we have ever stayed at in the Caribbean and we’ve been to a few. Being greeted upon arrival by the owners personally together with several senior members of the team was very special ( and was perfectly replicated on departure). The entire two weeks was so relaxing that it seemed to go in a flash. The hotel must be congratulated for assembling an incredible staff. All of them we met were amazing and literally nothing was too much trouble. Perhaps it is wrong to single any one out but we simply have to mention Sherlyn and Dennis in the restaurant, desi Ann and Betty Ann at the beach club, and, of course, George, surely one of the best bar chiefs in the West Indies! Facilities were also great, not once was there any problem with beach loungers, usually abundantly available, but one of the nicest touches was on the first night when we asked if it was necessary to book a reservation for dinner we were told no sir, as a guest we just expect you! Everything about the Calabash was of the highest class so, obviously, we must thoroughly recommend it.

Just returned from 10 days here. Have to say, it is the most relaxed I have been in a long time. Place is lovely, rooms immaculate, beds brilliant, and the staff are superb. However, like anywhere, it has its' flaws. Food was very good overall, but not outstanding in my opinion. A couple of dishes - the chicken sous vide for example - were just tough. The kitchen also struggled with a largish wedding party who were there for part of the time, and a couple of nights service was extremely slow and food a bit cold. Would I recommend it though. The answer has to be yes, simply for the location, staff and rooms. It is extremely relaxing, and if you're looking for a place to do literally nothing, but be well looked after in lovely surroundings - this is it.

It’s hard to look for words to sum up how much we enjoyed our experiences at Calabash Luxury Boutique Hotel. I have been to many hotel properties, but Calabash is hard to top. The impeccable attention to detail, the cleanliness of every corner, Chef Ramces’ food which is Michelin-worthy, I could go on and on, but it is the beautiful people of Calabash and Grenada that completes the package. • Calabash can easily be accessed by: o JetBlue directly to Grenada from New York o American Airlines direct to Grenada from Miami & Charlotte o Delta Airlines had direct access to Grenada from Atlanta, but due to the pandemic, they stopped, but hopefully will soon resume the operation. • Arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by smiling airport staff who will lead you to the immigration section to process entry seamlessly. • Airport pick up is part of the room rate, and a very polite driver will take you to the property in 10 mins. • The rooms are very well appointed with a stocked fridge, surprise amuse bouches, a view of the ocean, plus the sound of chirping birds and tree frogs! • Your choice of how you’d like your breakfast: at the beach club, eating while captivated by the sound of the waves, or any way you want to have it on your own balcony. • Lunch at the beach club – aside from the ones on the menu, there can be a surprise depending on what’s caught in the ocean! • Dinner at Rhodes – very relaxed atmosphere. Everyone who comes to your table is at ease, and you know they are happy with what they do. It makes a lot of difference when you are surrounded by happy people! • Spa, infinity pool, hammock, water sports, snorkeling, and scheduled activities where guests can participate. • Island tour, with a very knowledgeable driver/tour guide, will take you to the whole island, which can be driven in 1.5 hours. Book for at least a 3-4 hours tour to see the entire Grenada and what are its hidden gems (waterfalls, Mona monkeys that have their own migration history, and drivers high fiving each other and shouting “respect”! (That’s so cool. The world needs it very much!) • Abundance of staff. They are like white ninjas doing what they do best 😊. They’re everywhere but not intrusive. We loved them all! • Before check-out, you do not need to worry about the anti-gen test. They come to the hotel to administer it. It was a minor mishap when the result didn’t come into our emails, so a bit of panic set at the immigration, but the front desk lady, Shari immediately fixed it! Many more to say, but ultimately, the warm and genuine welcome is instilled in our minds. Special shoutout to Stevens. Very professional, but definitely funny! Chef Ramces, lovely Hannah, Junior (our tour driver), Danny, our boatman, and the spa ladies Hanna and Cindy. A great family-managed property. RESPECT to all of you😊!!!
