From the moment we arrived and we were greeted by the fabulous Reagan to the minute we left nothing was too much trouble for all the amazing members of staff at Calabash, they really make you feel welcome and the level of service from everyone is second to none.

There is a real air of calm at this hotel, the gardens are pristine and the beach is so peaceful, on the couple of days we did venture out we were always happy to return to the calm surroundings.

We stayed on a half board basis and really could not have eaten anymore if we had wanted too, the breakfast on our patio everyday was a real treat and the evening meals at Rhodes were always beautifully presented and delicious.

Our room was modern and had everything you could possibly want in it, there really is so much attention to detail and thoughtful items in the rooms, and was always kept spotless.

We have been lucky enough to visit alot of Caribbean Islands and stayed in many hotels and have never returned anywhere as we like to try different places but here is somewhere we have seriously already discussed returning to.

Thank you to all the Calabash team !

Everything about the resort oozes class and sophistication. I travelled with my young family wife and son of 9 months. First of all on arrival they had a car seat set up in transfer vehicle and a modern crib in room as well as a plastic high chair with tray. Any parent will tell you these small details make the most crucial difference to ensure the baby is comfortable and the extra effort didn’t go unnoticed by me and my wife. All the staff were exemplary - helpful and professional without any pretense or fawning fuss made. Our baby made friends with so many of the staff and seeing so many waving him off after a few days blissful rest and relaxation on our first family vacation is something that will live long in the memory. The beach location is private and sedate, the feel is timeless luxury with all mod cons and features to make you feel like a home from home during your stay. In room dining and breakfast set up without any complaint or fuss particularly with a little one again was so appreciated. You have set after set of happy clients here when such attention and care is taken - this maybe a Carribean hotel on the sea but the feel is anything but generic resort more boutique classical elegance reminiscent of Esencia on Riviera Maya or Tea Trails in Sri Lanka (another Relais and Chateaux delight) we have stayed at. Situated on a sheltered cove with atmospheric bluff with water as a warm as bath, fine sand and boats in the harbor it’s highly recommended and we will be back. Thank you team!

We visited Calabash for our 25th wedding anniversary and we were treated to an unbelievable experience provided by the wonderful calabash staff which is the only way to describe the exceptional, dedicated people who provided us with an unforgettable holiday .
Greeted on arrival by Adele with “welcome home” keys which is exactly the feeling we had immediately, at home and comfortable with everything explained in our stunning junior suite with nothing omitted right down to the finest detail .
Calabash sits on the Lance Aux Epines beach in Prickly Bay probably one of the best locations on the island .We enjoyed many happy times relaxing on the beach having been made at “home “ by the guys/girls on the beach, setting up your sun beds and ensuring you had iced drinks regularly, always served with a smile. A few steps away at the beach club restaurant a varied daily lunch time menu was served , with the fabulous infamous banana crumble .
Breakfast was served on our balcony overlooking the beach, ordered the previous night by either paper menu or QR code, served impeccably, on time and piping hot.
Dinner was always an experience in the main restaurant with the most fantastic menu every night with Sherlyn looking after us fabulously, even knowing our favourite after dinner cocktail, which was always waiting for us! The restaurant staff were always excellent, on hand to explain and advise, all over seen by the excellent Michael. The evening music was always perfect for the hotel mood.
Our anniversary dinner was served on the beach, a pure luxurious 3 hour experience that will live long in our memory, such a personal thing to have, made ever more special by Diandre, our personal waiter for the evening. Special thanks to you Diandre for this, giving us such a fantastic evening.
We had the privilege of meeting Leo, Adele and Beth at the cocktail evening by the pool which gave us a true understanding of how the Calabash has evolved, where we were also lucky enough to get the, infamous crumble recipe from Beth .
Our special holiday was made ever more extraordinary with the exceptional efforts of every member of the Calabash staff, making a luxurious experience feel so warm and pleasurable.
Breakfast served on your balcony, drinks served to your sun bed, canapés brought to your room prior to dinner, constantly changing menus, the highest quality spa and pool area.
The Calabash is undoubtedly the best resort, with the best staff we have visited and we will find a way of returning to this home from home, family run paradise . Thank you Calabash for everything, a truly memorable holiday that we will never forget.

First time visitors to Grenada. We chose Calabash for its boutique size. The accommodations were beautiful. It was upscale, but felt like it belonged and blended in with the beautiful nature around us.
We mostly ate at Calabash for all our meals. The food was excellent and there was new menu options each evening. Hats off to Chef Ramces.! try the new Japanese fusion restaurant. The food was amazing!
The entire team from the front desk, to the servers, to the housekeeping were professional, friendly, helpful, and made you feel at home.
We rented a car and did day trips around the island to get a feel for the island of Grenada . The beach at Calabash is quiet, and the service is top-notch, but there are other beautiful beaches to explore close by such as Magazine Beach, and Grand Anse beach. Visiting St. George’s, walking around the harbour and shopping in the spice market, gives a good impression of the pulse of the island.
The front desk was helpful with supplying towels, bug spray, and even a cooler bag for our days exploring.
Spending time on the balcony at night, listening to the tree frogs was a favourite thing to do.
When we return to Grenada, we will definitely stay at Calabash again.

The Calabash team surpass every expectation, every detail is considered, with buckets of charm and infectious smiles. The food was absolutely incredible, we spent 10 days at the hotel and left feeling there was so much we hadn’t yet tried.

Breakfast on the beach, beautifully laid on white clothed tables is the ultimate luxury. Lunches at the beach bar ranged hugely from curry & roti, tuna tacos to club sandwiches. Izakaya restaurant is so slick - sushi with the freshest fish, unreal, all beautifully presented. And Rhodes Restaurant amazing too. I was honestly blown away by the flavours, presentation and variety at all of the restaurants. Service too.

Special thanks to George who makes delicious pinacoladas & frozen margaritas. Lesli Anne, Desian, Micheal in particular made us feel so welcome. The whole team are simply amazing.

We took a trip to L’Esterre where we were shown the family’s cocoa and nutmeg plantation. It is a magical place and having lunch there is an experience I’ll always cherish.

The Garbutt Family create something very very special, impeccable luxury service delivered with such warmth and ease.

Thank you for having us, we miss it like home.

This was our fourth stay at this wonderful well-run family hotel with brilliant staff. We did however have one minor issue with someone trying to get into our room at 4 am. My wife was awake and clearly heard the door handle click. She shouted who is there. I got up and looked around but could not see anyone . Mentioning this the following day we were told that it was someone from security. It was very unnerving and we asked to be moved at our expense to a room we felt was safer. We had not had this issue before and were a little surprised in the way it was dealt with. It did not seem to be taken seriously . Our other minor grumble is that the owners are very visible eating in one of the restaurant most days. The previous year we had been very warmly greeted on our arrival by them and also they took the trouble to say goodbye to us when we left. We even discovered we had mutual friends in Norwich . This year we were not spoken to and just felt it rather strange after a 10 day stay. Not sure why? On a more positive note, the staff are brilliant and the food is exceptional, though the wine list could perhaps be better? Would we go back again? Yes we would!

Dear 179alastairc, Thank you so much for your continued loyalty l and for taking the time to share your feedback from your recent stay. I’m truly sorry to hear about the unsettling experience you had with the security incident during your stay. We consider Calabash and Grenada to be extremely safe, but completely understand how unnerving it must have been for you and your wife, especially in the early hours of the morning. Please accept my sincerest apologies for any distress this caused. We have taken your feedback seriously and have already discussed the matter with our team to ensure such incidents are handled with greater care and transparency in the future. Your comfort and peace of mind are of the utmost importance to us, and I regret that we did not provide you with the reassurance you deserved in that moment. I am also deeply saddned to that you felt overlooked by our family during this visit. Our intention is always to make our guests feel warmly welcomed and appreciated, and we regret that this was not your experience this time around. But I hope I assure you that it was not intentional at all. We value the connections we’ve made with our guests over the years and are committed to ensuring that each stay is as personal and engaging as the last. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback and for your kind words about our staff and cuisine. We are delighted to hear that you would return, and we look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back and provide you with the warm, attentive service that you have come to expect from us.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. Within an hour of arriving and having Afternoon Tea we felt at home and relaxed. All the staff were so welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed a delightful breakfast on our balcony one morning but loved dining right on the beach in the mornings. Best French Toast eve !! We could not fault any of the meals we had. Dinner in Rhodes was a highlight for us and loved the Lion Fish on the menu. We felt the upgrade to half board was a good decision.
The Suite we had was very spacious and had everything you could ask for. The clothes steamer was a great idea as who wants to iron on holiday.
There were so many attentive staff such as Alex, Michael, Stephens, Hannah.. the list goes on. The Garbutt family really do an amazing job and I will certainly be recommending this hotel to family and friends.

We had the most amazing stay at the Calabash Grenada! The room was superb, boasting an outdoor (shaded and private) bath tub and private plunge pool which was perfect for cooling off after a hot day at the beach.

The location could not be better, with lots of beach activities (we went paddle boarding and sailing) as well as awesome food at the restaurants (we particularly enjoyed the roti and grilled watermelon salad for lunch and the sushi for dinner). The gym has everything you need to stay feeling on top of your game, and we even managed to get in a yoga class.

The Calabash has everything you need for a perfect trip in Grenada, we couldn't recommend it more highly!

After almost a year and half of pandemic living, my family and I decided to head to Calabash in late August (we had stayed there back in 2018, and had a fantastic time). It was a really hard decision to make, as we have an unvaccinated kid. That being said, the incredibly low numbers in Grenada made if feel safer to us than anywhere in the USA (plus you had to be vaccinated unless you're a kid to go there). Adele, Racquel, Shari and the team answered countless questions from me with incredible patience and graciousness. Knowing we would be so taken care of was one of the main reasons we felt comfortable returning during these crazy pandemic times.

Upon arrival at Grenada it felt like coming home. We were SO happy to see the beautiful landscape, ocean and hotel. Our Pool Suite was fantastic (one small incident with plumbing in the beginning that was quickly rectified). We remembered many of the folks that work there and they are all so accommodating; it was such a pleasure to see them again. The food at the Beach Club and Rhodes was overall scrumptious, and well presented. I would love to take a cooking class during our next trip (already booked!) to learn some of their secrets for perfect fish and amazing soups.

In terms of covid protocols, staff wore masks and the hotel provided (for a cost) testing at the hotel for our return trip home. Staff and guests were respectful of distancing and using sanitizer etc.

Because it’s a smaller resort, there are not a ton of activities. Calabash is a wonderful place to unwind, and things never feel rushed or chaotic there. Like I mentioned above, I’d love to take a cooking class or chocolate-making class there. I think some on-property classes like that could be a neat addition that wouldn’t take away from the calming vibe.

Thanks again for a fantastic trip. We look forward to returning soon.

Just a couple weeks ago we introduced our weekly activities which include a cooking class, chocolate tasting, yoga, rum tasting & tropical fruit tasting. This was our second visit to Calabash and it was just as good as the first. Indeed in many ways it was even better!. On arrival you are ‘welcomed home’ by the owners and staff and it feels exactly that. We were a little nervous this time as my husband is now more disabled. How silly of us! Every single member of staff were always on hand if necessary and I have to single out Kareem, Vaughan and Calvin, the wonderful beach boys. They reallly looked after us all and especially Peter. Vaughan took him sailing for what was probably the last time and also out in the kayak, something we thought impossible. My very very grateful thanks to them.
Desk-Ann and her team in the Beach Club were both as delightful and professional as ever. And how happy were we to find Coconut shrimp on the menu occasionally.
Our room was ideal for anyone with mobility issues and I really can recommend Calabash for anyone with such a problem. Not something I do very often.
I could write so much more but our thanks to the Garbutt family, all the staff, visible and invisible, for making our last long haul holiday so memorable
We will never forget you all

We are family-friendly and do have interconnecting suites, however our long standing child policy is below. This is in place to keep the peaceful atmosphere of the hotel that our guests love. 5 Jan to 15 March - children from the age of 12 are welcome 16 March to 20 Dec - children from the age of 6 are welcome 21 Dec to 4 Jan (Festive Period) – no age limitations

Hello, Under the current regulations which are in place until 21 September 2021, beach access is limited to 5-10am daily from Monday to Friday. However at Calabash, the portion of the beach immediately in front of the hotel is accessible to our guests 24/7 as it is essentially an exclusive beach.
