What do you want in an excellent B&B? Really good facilities and breakfast- but most of all, the most considerate of hosts. This was why I chose it for a second stay while I did a weekend course at Assington Mill, (2 miles away). Other reviews refer to the super breakfasts with large dishes of fresh fruit salad and the excellent... More

This weekend was the second time I've stayed at Oak Lodge. Anne and Clive are perfect hosts. Not only is the accommodation clean and comfortable, the breakfast is fantastic. Being gluten intolerant. Instead of biscuits on my arrival, I had homemade mazipan chocolates. At Breakfast sausages made on the farm were substituted for GF beefburger, also made on the farm.... More

I have travelled the UK and Europe a lot in my time, mostly with Patch. This is by far the nicest B&B I have ever stayed in. Immediately on the telephone booking I felt welcomed and well looked after. Nice touch that Anne wanted to know both mine, my partner's and Patch's first names so she knew who to greet... More

Stayed last weekend and I have to say could not fault, hosts were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. Location really beautiful and a nice walk through the wood behind the house. The room was spacious and spotless so warm and cosy. Private bathroom. Home made biscuits in the room. The breakfast was amazing, thank you Clive, so... More

We stayed for one night whilst kayaking on the river stour. We were made most welcome by Anne and Clive they were perfect hosts. The accommodation was spotlessly clean with those little extras which makes a special stay, comfy bed, power shower, home made biscuits and a wide choice of teas and coffee. The breakfast was delicious, better than you... More

Stayed two nights in the annexe and cannot speak highly enough of Oak Lodge. Very friendly welcome, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, Freeview and an excellent breakfast. All of the extras of a good 4 star hotel.

Further good things to add..... In a last minute rush I called and booked the Garden lodge for myself and wife on a family visit. Ann could not have been more helpful and obliging. A remote....and peaceful location.....Spotlessly clean. We had dinner at our place of choice in the area ...The Fox at Bulmer Tye which must be the BEST... More

There's nothing really to add to the superlatives already written. Four of us stayed at Oak Lodge for one night prior to kayaking down the River Stour from Sudbury to Cattawade. The easiness of Anne's friendly welcome set the tone for a very pleasant stay. We particularly appreciated the highest level of comfort and cleanlines, fresh flowers and home made... More

Have just returned home after a second five night stay at Oak Lodge and it was just as excellent as it was the first time. It has already been said on trip advisor several times, just how good this b&b is, so it's pointless repeating it all. Suffice to say, if you are in the area and choose somewhere else... More

My wife and I stayed at Oak Lodge for one night during a family weekend at my sister's house nearby. We had previously stayed at another B&B in the area but this was booked up so we stayed at Oak Lodge. Anne and Clive were superb hosts - very friendly & hospitable and the breakfast was superb. Do not hesitate... More
