Stayed over for a wedding and was able to get into our room at early (midday). The room was basic but was just what we needed. Bathroom was a little dated but did the job. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast in the morning was nice. Location was a couple of mins walk to main high street

This is pretty good value for money; It is not luxury, but the price does not suggest luxury. It is very convenient for the town centre, and the land lady and her 'receptionist', Poppy were most welcoming.

Lovely spacious room. Comfy beds. Very basic room, no water to drink, so do remember to take a bottle with you. Quiet at the back of the hotel. Friendly owners and an ok cooked breakfast in the morning. Great value for money. Close to the town centre.

The owner is very welcoming, bedsheets very clean. Bathroom very dated and mould round the bath. Plain plywood door with paint marks. Begging dog in the dining room. No sausages with the breakfast "I've run out and need to go shopping". Burnt toast on one side. Grubby menu. Still charged the full price! It's not the £5.50 it's the priciple.... More

A group of friends met up in Sudbury and stayed at the Hill Lodge Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis which is a short walk from the town centre. We were made most welcome by the owner and had three individual rooms. My room overlooked the busy Newton Rd but once the double glazed window was closed there was... More

We booked the small room with the "wet room" which is a what it says - the shower just cascades into the small room. You gets what you pays for and, for the money, it was a good deal. The room was clean and tidy and had a jug and tea and coffee. No problem for one night. The uncontrolled... More

I stayed in this Hotel, for a business meeting with a client for one night. Even though reached well before the bookin tiime, but they were very understading. The Staff was very welcoming and co-operative in every manner. Especially the Owner lady, who was very polite, was always ready to help, caring and a nice person. Still remember the lovely... More

I didn't stay at the hotel but held a family party in the function room, Irene couldn't have been more helpful and helped in any way she could to make sure the party was a success. The function room leads out to the garden area which was perfect for an afternoon garden party. We had a brilliant afternoon/evening. Many thanks... More

The car park was terrible - the lady said we should park next to the skip! The bedroom was grubby and the "bathroom" was actually a tiny wet room - you could almost sit on the toilet and have a shower simultaneously! When we complained, they refused to move us to another room or give us a discount. There was... More

I was invited to a party in Sudbury and needed somewhere to stay and this family run hotel ticks all the right boxes. Very welcoming and right away we felt at home. It has a nice little bar and provides a good breakfast. It is in an excellent location with the town centre just a couple of hundred yards away... More
