Private nature reserve in the Karoo , Western Cape . 14000 Ha of unspoilt Karoo mountain wilderness with free roaming game . Management policy is no intervention in nature . Beautiful private accommodation in 9 chalets and a guesthouse , sleeping 36p . The lodge includes the reception , dining room , shoppe , pub , pool area , etc . An info centre contains a lot of objects and information about the area . The reserve has three main 4x4 routes and several hiking trails over beautiful hills and valleys and has five Big Five viewpoints . Guided drives by Land Rover or walks with a nature guide is ongoing . Many guests do the hikes on their own and there are a lot of choices that we explain to you . The area is completely safe . Otherwise guests just chill in the peaceful environment . No passing roads , no nearby industries , no overhead elect or other lines --- you are excluded from the world outside . And then you are treated with special meals by our in-house chef!

Good morning Christine
We do have an information centre at the lodge and our guide takes youngsters on an informative and interactive tour through the different tracks, droppings and habits of some of the animals present on the reserve. Fossils and the geology of the area is also explained. We also offer guided nature drives through the reserve which is a favorite with the youngsters.
After the walk through the info centre, a follow-up short guided hike to a San cave with some rock art is also popular, our guide then further explains the tracks etc. on the ground with the chance of seeing some of the animals in the flesh
