Really friendly helpful staff. Best Sunday lunch that I have had for a long time. Between us we had all 3 roasts, rare sirloin, slow cooked silverside and slow cooked belly pork. All were delicious. The portions are huge with a wide choice of vegetables but you can specify childrens or smaller portions beforehand. Altogether a superb meal with attentive...

We had lunch here.It was very very quiet and lots of very young lost staff. No one offered us a drink on arrival or during our meal (we were the only people in the place!) The most senior bar member looked stressed and didn't even acknowledge us on arrival. Lunch was pleasant.good gravy. Goodly amount if a bit short on veg....

Met some friends here for luncheon today. From the moment we entered we felt welcome, a log fire roaring in the corner competed with the warmth of the staff. Food was lovely, nicely presented and generous portions, from the prawn starter, the 'welly belly' ( which was delicious) to the succulent steak and ale pie and the tender liver and...

This venue was recommended to us and I have to say it surpassed what we expected. Couldn't fault it. I didn't realise it was a hotel as we weren't there for this - I thought it was a village pub with great atmosphere and superb food and that met all those criteria and more - brilliant.

We visited last week and had a delicious meal in a cosy corner of this quiet pub. Despite it being below zero outside, it was warm and welcoming, even on a dark and very quiet January evening. I had the sausages and mash with the most amazing onion gravy... deliciously rich. My husband had the steak and ale pie which...

We stopped off at this pub having heard of its reputation. We were not disappointed! The lunch menu was varied enough to appeal to most tastes, including the obligatory vegetarian option. We both chose home made steak and ale pie. The pie was packed with tender beef, chunky and shredded. We both agreed that it was one of the best...

Choice of 3 meats, plus all the trimmings, divine gravy, perfect veg, amazing yorkshires with every dish, crisp roast potatoes, I am salivating as I remember!! Honestly couldn't fault a thing. Lovely service, and they stagger the bookings so your lunch arrives relatively quickly, piping hot, no room for the delicious puddings which are written on a slate, the cheese...

We were pleasantly surprised when we went to the Tuckers Arms in Dalwood near Axminster as the pub was had an old fashioned interior & we never expected to have such a wonderful meal. We both had fish dishes which were on the specials board & they were truly exceptional pub meals! The waiter Richard was very helpful although he...

So encouraging to find such excellent food & service here. We loved the antipasto & or mains. We've had some bad experiences here in East Devon with service or lack thereof but this has renewed our faith. Thank you. X
