Allocated room 4 on arrival. All rooms appear to be on the first floor with no lift. The manager helped with taking my bag to the room. The room overlooked the rear of the hotel, not the front main street. It was a double bed "in a room above the pub". Furnishings were a bit sparse - just a hanging... More

We hadn't booked but managed to get a table on a Saturday night. The waitress was lovely and we chose main courses from the Chef's specials. My haddock with prawns and mushrooms was delicious and my husband said that his chicken stuffed with cheese and garlic was good as well. We spent a leisurely evening with very enjoyable food. The... It always makes a difference to me when I enter somewhere to a friendly greeting which is what we had at The Red Lion. The pub is a delightful old building which was busy with lots of diners (always a good sign). The food was of restaurant quality but not restaurant prices; my Mother had the roast meal (beef) which... More

Lovely visit on a lovely day. Sat in the garden which was pleasant. Good menu choice and quick service. Excellent bar staff thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Also dog friendly which is important to me will definitely recommend and return

If it's atmosphere, friendly company, helpful staff and superb food you're after, don't go past the Red Lion in the delightful market town of Bakewell. Judging by the amount of seating in the dog-friendly tap room, the lounge bar and the dining area, lots of others think so too. There's also a large walled outdoor area where, on Thursday nights,... Dropped by during a visit to Bakewell. Dog friendly in the tap room (which we call a bar down south). The pub looks traditional with oak beams and flag stone floor. They have a nice selection of real ales for men and lagers for the ladies. The menu looked great with proper food and all of the dishes made it... More

We drove from Matlock to Bakewll just for lunch and boy oh boy was it worth it. The food was great and my cousin said he remembers the chips being great. So of course we ordered the chips and they were fabulous.

Popped in here for a drink, sat outside in the busy beer garden in the sun!!! The food which was coming out looked lovely and good value for money! We will be back to eat here that's for sure! Staff friendly and plenty of seating!
