We visited 22/12/2016, with my family. It was quite busy but the staff were really good and weren't rushed. We ordered 8 meals and they all arrived within about 20 minutes of ordering they were all hot and fresh. Sometimes when you got to restaurants and order chunky chips they are still hard in the middle but these weren't they...

Having walked round the Bakewell market (Mondays) my wife had worked up an appetite and suggested going in for lunch. Went on the tap room that is dog friendly and Star my greyhound found a spot a lie down. She wasn't the only dog in the room she joined 2 others. My wife ordered the lunchtime special a turkey roll...

Bakewell was very busy, on a Sunday close to Xmas, and I'd begun to give up thinking we were going to find somewhere good. Thankfully we struck lucky with a table here, and enjoyed a very friendly and genuine welcome from the bar staff. Plenty to choose from on a big menu and specials board. Food came out very quickly,...

Staff very atentative , rooms very clean and fair size, food very good. All in all a very good stay. When we arrived we were also given a car parking permit( only a couple of minutes away) which really saved money.

Good selection on menu, staff were a tentative, food well served and excellent value for money. Would have given 5 stars but the tables were to close together. But the The Red Lion was well worth a visit.

We came here for lunch and was not disapointed. Good honest pub grub. The menu had a good selection and was hard to choose from. In the end I settled for the fish and chips-perfect. Nice ales on tap and the dog was allowed in the cosey tap room. Nice open fire. Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't...

Stayed three nights when temperatures dropped to below zero and was pleased to have a very warm room, very clean, with very hot water and TV. Basic but comfortable. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and breakfast was a decent full English ( or any variation) with cereals and toast. The ales are well kept and a number of...

We had a fantastic lunch at The Red Lion, and were able to take our dog into the Tap Room. In fact there were several dogs in there, no problem at all. I had a turkey roll with stuffing, cranberry sauce, salad and home made chips, fantastic! My husband had the special burger, pork, black pudding and mushroom, again with...
