We called in for a well earned drink. We passed the Hotel on our way to Bakewell saw the magnificent views. On our way back it was so hot in the car decided we needed a drink. We called in so pleased we did. Great little bar, very friendly staff and reasonably priced

Stayed at Monsal Head Hotel a number of times now and on the whole, the experience is very nice. The staff are very friendly and try to be as helpful as they can be. On the whole, the food is very nice (although, nothing overly special) and the menu quite varied. The quality of the food does vary sometimes (generally...

Stayed here for night, really friendly & helpful staff. Meal in the Stables Bar was very nice and a good choice on the Restaurant breakfast menu. Easy access to Monsal Trail and just 2 mile walk to Bakewell, we thoroughly enjoyed our day and experience here. Would definitely stay again.

This comment refers to only to The Stables Bar over two mid afternoon visits. So we went back I guess. The location makes it a very attractive place to visit. The beer was excellent. Sadly, the overall experience was let down by the attitude of the bar person's unpleasant and extremely unhelpful attitude.

Stayed here with friends over May bank holiday. No complaints - rooms with good views, friendly staff, breakfast as one would expect. Good walking from door to door - Monsal Trail Only downside is the food for evening meal - it was OK, but didn't pass the "could I have cooked it better" test. ANd for the same price you...

Me and my 2 sisters stayed in a family room on dinner, bed and breakfast basis. We spent the day walking the monsal trail. The view from this point is amazing. Helpful staff, gorgeous food that was really great value for money based on our package. Yes the rooms are a bit shabby (the bed was very comfy!) but it...

We've loved this place for years, it's our regular stop-off on the way home from walking up at Kinder Scout. We've always had lovely food and enjoyed the amazing view. After today....I've changed my mind! We sat in the (surprisingly quiet) beer garden at the Stables, and my husband went to order our drinks. I had asked for a 'fruity...

This is one of my top two places to visit. Yes, the rooms are rather old-fashioned and in need of refurbishment but the view is to die for and the welcome we get is always really special. The 4 rooms overlooking the Dale are the ones to go for. Then you can sit and watch the people come and go,...

Stable Bar! After walking on the Monsal Trail we decided to call in for refuelling. 3 ladies, 3 dogs and two children we decided to sit outdoors and take in the beautiful views. Went in to order and there was no flexibility when ordering and were told that as we were paying separate, food would not be brought out together....
