A few people old us we had to try this pub / resturant so off we went on a Wednesday evening. So glad we did. The staff were lovely and had a sense of humour. The menu was interesting especially for a pub. For starter I had the Oriental duck which was good. My only criticism would be that the... More

Warm, welcoming stay at this cosy country pub. Food and staff were excellent! The room was clean and comfortable with a country feel. The staff made us very welcome and we're very attentive. Our evening meal was delicious - loved the feta bombs and the hanging kebab.

Manners is on the edge of town but still in a good location. Plenty of car parking which is a bonus. There are two rooms, both about the kitchen. It was the hottest room I've ever stayed in, presumably because it was above the kitchen. Food in the pub is nice and good value. They bring a breakfast the night... More

We enjoyed an overnight stay here after an event at nearby Chatsworth House. Food was delicious - loved the Hake and the Hanging Kebab. Comfy bedroom and very clean. The continental breakfast was put together with care and was a refreshing change from a full English! We would definitely return if in the area again.

What a great find... this is much more than just good pub food ... It is a true gastropub with great food. The menu was extensive, and there were so many things that we wanted to try that rather than go with a standard meal we settled on 5 starters and some fries to share between us. They were all... We have just experienced a truly delicious 3 course meal here. Our party of 10 were all delighted with every dish placed in front of them. We were served very well presented and incredibly delicious food, a fabulous menu, it was difficult to choose as the choices are so very tempting. Nothing was left by anyone on every course. The... On a visit from Canada read about The Manners from trip advisor no bad reports. Booked overnight stay with my family. Originating from Sheffield and always looking for value for money couldn't believe how good this place is. The food was out of this world varied and fantastic quality. If you are looking for an overnight stay in Bakewell and... More

Enticed by the board outside describing good food, staff etc. The food was overpriced and very average. The staff seemed quite grumpy. There was nothing inviting about the venue, not a place I would visit again.

Great evening meal. We're having a cottage holiday in Bakewell and night one was a winner. Definitely going back. Well kept beer and lovely prossecco by the glass. Really helpful friendly staff. Decided not to have a starter as we were a bit tired. I had the pie which was superb. Great suet pastry and a REALLY FULL pie with... More

We visited this restaurant as a party of 5 and were pleasantly surprised by the variety and complexity of the menu - which we expected to be normal pub food. We ordered a range of meals from fish and chips to vegetarian. For once, everyone had a really super meal - which is unusual! The chefs here were superb -... More
