Staff were always attentive and very polite, restaurant and breakfast food was excellent and on time even though extremely busy. 3 bars serving excellent beverages. Room was a tad small but perfectly fine, c'mon who wants to sit around in the room all day when there's lots to do!!...

The perfect Sunday roast, good price and good service. Would recommend booking as it was fully packed at 12noon. The quality is very good and the open fire is perfect for a cold winters day. Excellent choice of meats and puddings - all very tasty.

Found out why later............We booked two midweek rooms, including the four-poster, for the princely sums of £65.00 per room including a very good breakfast. The rooms were comfy, clean...

Stayed here as we were going to a local wedding at Hassop Hall, this place is very picturesque on the outside but slightly dated on the inside - not a bad thing but I personally prefer a more modern feel. Decor aside, our room was clean with everything you need (tea and biscuits etc!) and we had a good nights...

We stayed at the Ashford Arms last Friday night having prebooked 2 rooms for our party of four. The quoted rate was £85 bed & breakfast and all agreed that it was really good value for money - small, dated but spotlessly clean rooms with quality bed linen and towels. Ample tea & coffee in the room included. We also...

We stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast 14/15 Sept 2012 following a birthday trip to Chatsworth House. Friendly and helpful staff, matched by excellent cuisine and first class accomodation. Evening meal menu is very varied and breakfast has full choices served from 9 am until 10 am. A very old building which has quality accomodation; we stayed in a family...

Called in for a beer with a party of walkers. Greeted by a miserable unhelpful barmaid. Most unhepful over the food and missed a drink off the order. She then made me wait for the missed drink and someone else ended up getting it.Don't order any chips because they will not serve them on there own. A couple of sandwiches...
