A very nice room in a really pretty location just by the river. Owners are welcoming & helpful and all in all it was a lovely stay. The room is more modern than shown in the pictures and was clean, comfortable, light & airy. Nice to have a hearty breakfast there overlooking the garden. It's about 10 mins level walk... More

On arrival my sister and I we were greeted with a very warm welcome and helped with our cases . Showed around the facilities and told about the local area which was only a 6 min walk ...Bedroom was spotlessly clean and so was the large bathroom and equipped with lots of helpful little touches . Breakfast served in the... More

An excellent retreat, just a short walk from town over a very attractive old bridge. The place is spotless and very cosy. It was a joy having a fabulous brekkie in our room overlooking the garden and river.

We stayed here for three nights in August, and found the hosts (Judith and Alan) to be extremely accommodating. The bed was comfortable, the breakfasts were excellent (brought to our room on the dot of the agreed time) and the free wifi was faultless. The bathroom is not en-suite, but is for the use of B&B guests only (not shared... More

This may be a very good B&B, but since the owner messed up our booking we were denied the opportunity to find out. In March 2015 we made a reservation for 4 nights in July, subsequently extending this by one night by telephone. We only found out late the night before we were due to arrive that the owner could... An absolute gem. Peaceful, glorious setting, a beautiful garden and views of the River Wye and ancient packhorse bridge from the room. The owners are so friendly and helpful and do everything to make sure your stay a good one! Short stroll into Bakewell for pubs etc. As keen walkers, this was a brilliant base, with umpteen walks from the... More

The cottage is a short distance (about 10 mins walk) from the city centre. The walk along the river towards the cottage offers a lovely view. You can relax along the river banks, while enjoying the sight of grazing livestock nearby. The owners are extremely friendly and attentive. Their breakfast is excellent and we are delighted to try the black... More

Decent sized room with amazing views. Lovely private bathroom. Handy walking distance to Bakewell. Fab breakfasts and great hosts. Great location for touring the area. We cycled Monsal trail from the door. . Good value for money.

The cottage was a very cozy and beautiful place. The room was very comfortable, and the bathroom was adorable and amazingly convenient. The owners were a lovely and nice couple who cared for our every needs. The breakfast they served was absolutely delicious, and they were nice enough to personalize it to our taste. It is definitely a place I... More

We stayed here two days/nights as a break in the middle of our lengthy hike around the Peak District National Park. The price was so reasonable we were not sure what we would get, turns out we should not have worried. Mr & Mrs Dunn were very welcoming and Lumford Cottages is in a wonderful location, on the northern outskirts... More
