We stayed at the Bagshaw Hall Hotel for 2 nights and were delighted with our room. It was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel. Our room was enormous and we had a huge bath for 2 and brilliant views over Bakewell. The room also had a kitchenette with sink, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster and cafetière - far more than I’ve ever seen in any other hotel room! We came with 2 other couples and their rooms were equally delightful. There is a lovely lawn at the front of the hotel with 2 picnic tables and we all met up outside for drinks in the evening. The friendly staff were most accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for them. Bakewell is a lovely town and we went on some great walks. We can’t wait to return!

Lovely room with a fantastic view. Kitchenette included which we probably didn't make the most of as we dined out but is certainly very useful. The hotel is on a hill but we found if you walked back up via the church( longer way round) it was easier. It made a great base not only for Bakewell itself but for the surrounding area. Very friendly and efficient staff.

Stayed in the Sleep Lodges alongside the Hall. Nice private entrance so we didn't have to meet anyone to get in and out. Beautiful rooms, really clean, lovely modern bathroom. Great location for Bakewell. Helpful staff. Breakfast delivered to the door in the morning - how are they keeping the cooked breakfasts so hot?! Kids wanted to stay for the week and we could have done quite easily.

Liked · The bathroom was modern and clean, with good towels, but very small and cramped. The bed was large and comfortable. The staff were pleasant and quick to respond to problems. Disliked · It was called the garden room, but it was actually the cellar, with no sight of a garden, just a brick wall. The kitchenette was not adequately cleaned, with cracked and smeared glasses and used washing up cloths. The table mats had the previous users’ rings on them. It was advertised as ‘Bagshaw Hall Spa’ so we expected to be staying in a spa hotel. What we got was an unserviced self catering room at hotel prices.

Response from David Oulsnam, Owner at Bagshaw Hall

We are pleased that Wendy had some likes, however, we are concerned at the dislikes, which are aimed at the facilities of the Garden Room. We replaced the cracked wine glass, which unfortunately had not been noticed, and the table mats had heat marks on them which were replaced. The Garden Room Suite has a window facing onto the front lawn of the hall and a glass door for direct access to the garden. We have spa and beauty treatments available, but due to the current covid situation, this service is arranged at the salon in town. As seen from previous reviews our check-in system, cleanliness and friendliness of our team is praised.

Thank you for your positive recommendation. Our guests find the kitchenette facilities in every room are a real bonus, over and above what is normally provided. The easy walk into the town is really convenient for the many facilities available for our guests to enjoy.
