We arrived on a cold day in February and the B and B was lovely and warm and cosy. We had a friendly welcome and a very pleasant room. I would urge anyone to stay here with confidence. The cooked breakfast was very nice.Very close to town centre. We did not hear any traffic noise ( which other reviewers have...

Recently joined a Company in Bakewell, travelled up from Kent for a meeting & Christmas meal. We normally stay at a Premier Inn. I cannot praise this B&B enough, warm welcome, great clean room, comfy bed, excellent breakfast. Location brilliant for anyone looking to visit Bakewell, 2 minute walk into the town. Thank you to everyone for a fantastic 2...

This was a stay with family about a decade after a stay with friends and the standard is still very high. We were warmly welcomed to our large comfortable en-suite room. It was a very cold weekend outside but nice and warm in every respect inside Melbourne House. Onto the practicalities, there is small but functional car parking outside Melbourne...

Stayed a couple of nights with friends at Melbourne House. Once again, service was second to none. Lovely big clean rooms, warm hospitality and a great breakfast. Would certainly recommend to friends and family.

We stayed here for two nights so we could visit Chatsworth House and enjoy the Bakewell Christmas Markets. The location of the B&B is fabulous. Our room was lovely and very spacious with a good size bathroom. The bed was gorgeous and provided a very pleasant nights sleep. We heard some other guests saying their rooms were too warm but...

Have stayed here a few times now for the weekend of the Rock exchange and always found it good and accommodating for early breakfasts. The beds are comfortable and rooms are furnished to a good standard. The shower in the room was rather weak so it took longer to shower especially when washing your hair. The other point to make...

Lovely stay in a nice clean, well presented room, with perfect hosts. Nice breakfast. Handy car park. In a good location although on a fairly busy road not much road noise to keep you awake at night. Would recommend highly!

We enjoyed our stay here, and would not necessarily discourage anyone else from choosing it. The rooms are nicely furnished with plenty of space, good quality sheets and are very well cleaned. If you want convenience for seeing the local sights like Chatsworth, Haddon, Thornbridge brewery, the Bakewell show etc. then this is all within walking distance. The disadvantage of...

A friend and I spent three nights at Melbourne house in July. This is an extremely well run establishment with two houses (across the street from each other) and 8 or more rooms. John and Marie are welcoming hosts (John cooks a fabulous breakfast, Marie is the face of the organization.) We had a room with twin beds which was...
