On our second week holiday in Bakewell where we have been to the Peacock inn for dinner on quite a few nights as we did last year on holiday. We were never dissapointed with the food or the service. The food is delicious and the portions are very generous. Yes you have to wait on your food as it is... More

We stayed at the Peacock on the hottest two nights of the year with our baby and they really helped accommodate us by providing us with a fan and bringing the amazing food up to our room while the baby was asleep. The staff go out of their way to help and the food is brilliant. Perfect location for exploring... More

Dropped into the Peacock with our young family on a weekday evening while passing through the beautiful town of Bakewell. Walked about and stumbled upon the Peacock. To summarise: Bar wasn't that busy (no one else at bar when I ordered our food), Plenty of space at our table even with 4 small children, Food was very tasty and plenty... More

No need to complain about anything is there paddysontheroad, after all you're in the Peacock in Bakewell, not even the fact that the staff as you say aren't rude or shall we say intrusive as we like to think we do our job, while you enjoy what we have on offer in the shape of food, or ambience in our... We stayed 2 nights in room 4 which we immediately liked - generously sized, clean and comfy. Our friend's room on the other side of the building was less generous, apparently. Breakfast and Dinner was tasty and the menu was varied with lots of local choices. Other half's fish and chips were among best he has had. The service was... More

I wouldn't visit this establishment again. There are lots of other more welcoming pubs in Bakewell. The staff are rude. I'm very surprised this place is still open due to the rudeness of the staff. Great location, nice building but it takes more than that nowadays to compete.

Stayed in Bakewell over the carnival weekend and ended up eating in The Peacock twice. Our hotel food wasn't up to much so we looked elsewhere and The Peacock pub grub came up trumps. Myself and three colleagues booked and visited this pub-restaurant for dinner as it was central and convenient and there did not appear to be much choice in Bakewell. The menu seemed OK except it was laminated in plastic and a bit greasy, but we decided to stay and give it a go. However although the food was alright it seemed... More
