My room was positioned on the quieter side of the hotel, but had a strange smell. On asking reception it transpired new window had been fitted that day and the smell was the fixer. I changed rooms and the staff were very helpful. The new room was much better. The hotel is a bit tired and a refurbishment would be...

Staff are always friendly and helpful and make an effort to please. Rooms are ok and typical for a budget type hotel. Beds comfortable, rooms clean. As would be expected for this type of hotel, there's only a shower, not a bath. Rooms are functional, rather than luxury. They include a decent sized desk, so suitable for work stays as...

This was a one night visit to attend a local venue. The hotel was ideally placed, welcoming staff. The room was classy and tidy with the usual facilities. Had breakfast the following morning, extra £8.95, but very good. It was a buffet style with lots of variation, including full English, fruit, cheese and tea and coffee. Would stay again, thanks.

Adequate. My hopes were not raised by the confusion of trying to book. Booking was possible - but nobody at IBIS or ACCOR would commit themselves to that elusive "Lowest Price." It turns out Guaranteed Lowest isn't guaranteed at all. The poor punter certainly pays high - then has the ignominy of seeing that "Low" price come down each day...

I stayed here a long time ago while working in the area. Let's face it, this chain of ibis are cheap, and cheap for a reason. The location is perfect with free parking but the rooms are very basic, the rooms to the front need new windows or secondary glazing so you can get a good nights sleep. Some of...

We had stayed at this hotl previously and wrote a very negative review about staff attitude and cleanliness of this hotel. We thought we would give it another try as it is very convenient when we visit family. What a difference. Very friendly staff. Our room was very clean. We stayed 4 nights and had bed and breakfast at a...

We wanted somewhere to stay overnight to break up our journey from Newcastle to Stoke. This hotel was ideal. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and everything we needed was provided TV,Wi-Fi, coffee,etc.. Breakfast was really good with plenty of variety. The location is only a few minutes walk to chesterfield town center ,and although the hotel is near a very...

You know the format for an Ibis hotel. They are similar in different locations. Chesterfield one is clean, efficiently run and close the centre and station. Room 202 looked onto the roundabout but was quiet at rush hour and other times. Crossing the roundabout is a downside for pedestrians. There is no official crossing or traffic lights on the way...
