The staff at the Sandpiper were excellent. We were made very welcome. The car park is barriered, which is good as it is on a main road. The restaurant was closed as it was a Sunday night but we were recommended an Indian restaurant a short taxi ride away which was fine. The hotel even rang and booked the restaurant... More

Excellent value for money and a great night and good food, attended a works Christmas party here, we liked it so much we have booked again for this year. Definitely well worth a visit. Also stayed the night here the rooms were clean and well presented the decor maybe needs a bit of modernisation but overall a good nights stay... More

When I arrived at the Sandpiper Hotel whilst working away, I was met by a snappy unhelpful women. I proceeded to my room, smelt of damp, and linen was dirty. I would recommend avoiding this at all costs

Stayed just the one night. Slightly out of town but suited our needs £55 per night with breakfasts £7.50. Barriered car park for added security. Larger than normal room with bath and shower. Clean bright and everything you'd expect from a more expensive hotel. Friendly reception (John, you are a gentleman) Taxis booked to take the present wife and I... More

I had to arrange a family funeral and as I live 200 miles away from The Sandpipers, arrangements were made completely by phone and email, liaising with the manager and also some of her staff. Communications were extremely efficient and prompt, with answers to my questions and amendments coming back to me by return the same day. The staff were... More

Booked this as a last minute getaway. From the minute we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. They went out of their way to accommodate our every need. The hotel is slightly dated and in need of a touch-up but was really clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and very reasonably prices.... More

Stayed here for one night when going to an event in Sheffield and needed a place to stay overnight before heading home. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the receptionist was friendly and welcoming. We rang prior to arrival to check we could check in late as due to the event finishing late we wouldn't be there until gone... More

I arrived in Chesterfield to see a T20 match and stayed here. Very good value. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and all the fixtures and amenities worked. Comfortable beds, too. Chesterfield's not the most exciting place, but if you find yourself there, this is a good place to stay at a fair price.

Stayed here for one night for a weekend away in The Peak District. My heart sunk on entering the room. It was drab, dark, old fashioned and depressing. The decor and furniture is old fashioned and drab throughout the whole hotel, restaurant and cafe bar and needs dragging into this century. The beds squeaked which became a source of amusement...
