We thought that the food was excellent and great value. The mussels wete delicious. Friendly service and atmosphere with welcoming staff. An attractive historic pub to visit just for a drink, too.Very handy for canal boaters and looks pretty from the outside, too.

Our room was large and bright with a very comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. We had dinner in the Inn which was very good but the breakfast was really excellent in the morning with plenty of choice and lots of food was available. The staff were really nice and helpful and couldn't do enough for us.

Stopped off for a Sunday evening meal. It was a warm evening and we were impressed by the space the kids had on the grass area to play. The meals we were served were average, nothing special but think we were expecting something special to match the location. Staff seemed harrassed and rushed. When we went into the bar it...

Great selection of beers, good food in a well maintained and well-appointed establishment. We stayed one night - our room was very small and overlooking parked cars but was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding and was served by a very attentive waitress. Worth a visit also for the great pub garden that sits alongside the K&A canal.

My husband and I decided to eat here after a lovely walk along the canal with our dog, at the weekend. We had been recommended 2 other pubs and in hindsight, should have taken our money elsewhere! It's not a big pub, in an ideal setting on the canal and with a great garden, however, the weather was abit drizzly...

After reading some reviews we were nearly put off but when shopping in sainsburys a staff member recommended the pub so we decided to give it a try, we were not disappointed, food was fantastic, service was quick and the girls were so friendly I fully recommend this pub as it was after a long day on the canals....

Perfect location, lovely modern room with very comfortable bed. Incredible friendly staff who can't do enough for you, particularly the manageress and the housekeeper. The food was amazing! Breakfast and dinner were very tasty and very generous portions! The chicken curry and belly pork were outstanding. The best place we have ever visited by far! Will definitely be recommending this...

Good menu choice. You can have a 'tab' at the bar if eating. Specials board was good. Service was friendly and we didn't wait long for our food. Pleasant environment. Locals as well as visitors which is always a good sign. Lamb burger was excellent.

We stayed here for one night. A well laid-out room, surprisingly spacious,an extremely comfortable bed, and a good -sized bathroom meant we had a very pleasant stay, which was finished off with an excellent breakfast. The food was of high quality and freshly cooked. I would heartily recommend The Barge Inn as a good base for exploring the surrounding area, being not...
