We stayed here with our dog and it was amazing. Mairead is a wonderful host. Never had a host make us so at home. Every community needs a person like her. The dog loves being in the heart of the mountains. I will recommend this place to everyone I know.

I'm not one for writing reviews but feel I should in this instance. We stayed here for two nights because we wanted to bring our dog somewhere on a 'doggy' holiday. It's hard to find accommodation that welcomes pets. The Mourne lodge welcomed us and our dog and we had a great time. Mairead and the staff were friendly and... More

Sinead and I stumbled across the lodge late on a Saturday night, keen to find a bed for the night. We called Mairead and she was kind enough to come over and give us a room for the night. Mairead is a bit of a legend, welcoming, thoughtful and full of local knowledge. Our stay there was extremely chilled out.... More

We stayed at Mourne House as a group of 7 mums who have disabled children. We wanted to have a break away from caring and some time out. We were greeted with a lovely welcome pack and taken around this beautiful house. It is immaculate and very well set up everything you may need is provided. Very comfortable and spacious.... More

Stayed three nights very comfortably. Rooms were simple and clean and shower was clean and powerful. The manager was amazing. She was so welcoming - felt like home straight away. Breakfast was lovely too - the staff really look after you. Would happily stay again :)

It's not quite a hostel but it's not a guest house either yet the prices by the time to add in breakfast are a little on the expensive side. We felt 7pound for the breakfast we got was too much compared to what you can get elsewhere. The director of the centre was very friendly and welcoming. Parking is very... More

Spent a night here a few weeks ago. The room and entire lodge were lovely and very well presented. The welcome was excellent and a great breakfast was ready first thing to set me up for the day, The location is ideal for the mountains and you can be in the heart of the Mournes in no time.

Vince, thank you so much for this positive comment. You did not stay long enough with us to avail of our excellent hospitality and attention to guests. We'd love to see you again. More

The room itself was perfect - warm and cosy with all the necessities. I got a lovely greeting on arrival but was surprised that I was the only person staying and that the place was not staffed at all. I did not feel safe staying in such an isolated building totally alone, and as a result did not sleep well.... More

Thank you for your kind comments on the room. However, on your arrival, I did explain that you were the only person staying (mid-week, January) and asked were you happy about this - you assured me this was no problem. I came back at 9:30pm but you had gone to bed so I did not disturb you. I do appreciate... More
