We were there for three nights ,the first night being a Sunday, when we arrived there was a few men in the bar and quite a bit of swearing, which was a bit off putting, but by the evening it was quiet and no evening meal provided so we went to a large pub chain in town. The room/bathroom was... More

Myself and 2 friends chanced upon this pub and restaurant as we were camping nearby and was looking for an evening meal after spending the day travelling and setting up our tents. We found a warm welcome from the staff at the Drovers Arms. After ordering drinks we ordered the 'Friday special' of fish, chips and peas. We were thoroughly... More

Having thought we had booked bed and breakfast we were surprised to be asked for a further £15 and full payment for the room on arrival. We agreed. The next morning on getting up for breakfast we were told the chef had not turned up so there was no breakfast. We were escorted across the road to a transport café... More

Very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. We decided to stay over due to family issue. Visiting this place was unexpected but turned out to be a lovely option. Staff very friendly and changed our room very quickly after we saw the original room wasn't ready.

So, when we arrived we were given the keys to our rooms and asked to pay before we had even seen our room! We then wanted to have a bath as we were going out for dinner, however, the water was stone cold and the lady who worked there told us to run it and it would be hot, half... More

Approaching the Drovers, though could be put off at having to walk into a very basic bar area to check in. A little intimadating if on your own. Room was basic but clean and comfortable with tea & coffee facilities and ensuite. Breakfast served from 7-9am. Small hotel car park at the back. Otherwise public car park free after six... More

Very basic room but clean and OK for just one night. No noise from the bar downstairs or from outside. Breakfast was only average - the bacon was very thick and more like gammon. Friendly staff. Managed to park on site.
