Awesome room - Awesome food - Awesome staff - Awesome location. Right in the heart of Carmarthen with plenty of restaurants and shops all within a few minutes walk from the Boars Head. Train station is only 5 mins walk.

on main market, congested car and difficult to get car to back of Pub cum hotel through very narrow passage. The persons at reception was not very accommodative and rather off attitude. Even staff at morning breakfast has lack of politeness

Stayed two nights, just!!! First night turned out to be "Pub Singer" night. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant :-) However when having a beer they started to clear out the bar area... It turned out that there would be a singer (it was Saturday Night). It started at 9 ish and carried on past 11.... I went down... More

Fairly priced, but as it was when our weather went "scorchio" for a couple of days, air con would be good. With the somewhat dirty windows open, at 1.30 am the drunks of Carmarthen in the street below rendered sleep impossible. On my first night the hotel restaurant was closed by 8.15 as it was quiet! Had to wait to... More

Car park entrance was very narrow, scraped wing mirror so fold your mirrors. People swearing and smoking outside hotel entrance from the bar. Nobody at the reception hatch. Rang bell several times a gentleman just happened to be collecting glasses and took us into a bar area to check in! A lady took us nearly to our room as she... More

Disgusted to discover the booking I helped my dad and his elderly friends to make was messed up. They arrived after a very long journey to find that 1 of the 4 rooms that have been booked for months was not available!! How on earth can that happen??? You had the credit card details, they had the confirmation printed, I... More

A very average Pub / hotel. The room was clean but dated. The wifi had issues and hence I could not get connectivity during my two night stay. The staff were very polite and friendly. The tv in the room was a 14" - 16" screen. No desk space to use a laptop. The complimentary breakfast was excellent.

In the early nineteenth century the Boars Head was an important coaching inn, and that focus on good food and hospitality continues today. The interior, though obviously modernised during the last two-hundred years, retains much of the atmosphere of its coaching days; the ground-floor layout has largely been retained, with a maze of small interconnected rooms, containing bars and restaurants.... First opinion, an old style Hotel. Second impression, I was correct. quite dated in every aspect of the building. Bar, restaurant and rooms offer the impression your going back in time. What time, i'm not too sure. But, don't let that put you off. The Hotel is clean and tidy. I had a small yet comfortable room. Wifi was a... More

We booked two rooms here last weekend, the rooms were modern and well furnished with fabulously modern bathrooms. Lovely old style feel to the bar, dining room and stairs. Great breakfast too. Had seen mixed reviews on here, so was unsure what to expect but everything was excellent. Bargain price for what we got, free parking at back of hotel... More
