Well, there we were. We'd arrived at Skipton station after a scenic journey on the beautiful Settle & Carlisle Railway - then dragged our cases along a main road to.....what's this? A car-repair workshop? Blimey!...... BUT - we met Mick, the owner, who showed us to our room - plenty of space...room, separate shower and separate WC...really spacious, clean and... More

We booked this for a last minute bank holiday trip. Family of 4- including 4 & 6 year old kids. Positives- central location, easy to find, good and free parking right outside, good value-£100 for a family of 4, easy system to get keys with clear instructions, online booking was fast with good communication, parking permit and access instructions emailed... OK perhaps for a single person like me, on a long walk, for one night. To start with, the name is a bit of a misnomer. The property appears to have been converted from a commercial use and is in a bit of a backwater with other commercial uses. It does not have a domestic character. The recessed entrance is... More

I take on board your comments, but the rooms are deliberately not "Homely" as one man's meat is another man's poison and what some consider "Homely" others consider distasteful and sometimes disturbing. We keep it "Plain and simple" as that's what the vast majority of visitors want, simply a comfortable bed for the night in a clean environment with all... More

The other reviews for this place are extremely generous...Starting with the positives - the bed was comfortable and the location is very central to Skipton. However, the location is very commercial - the building is not attractive and the car park is shared with a number of commercial units. The owners do not appear to live on site and on... More

It's a shame to hear that Emma didn't enjoy her stay, unlike hundreds of other very happy guests have done before her. Some of the comments are incorrect the car park is shared by us, Central Garage (a small vehicle repair centre, Savers which is a discount chemist type retail outlet and a private resident) so hardly full of commercial... Nice place, accessible but it was double booked when we got there after an event which meant that some of our party had to go to another hotel and we were separated. Breakfast was good but the rooms upstairs a bit cramped. Overall okay and good price but nothing too special.

Clean, friendly, warm and cracking breakfast. Had a day at Xmas markets then stayed here. I like the idea of the locked pin safe to get key, just modern and less fuss. Owner down to earth, friendly guy with his finger on the pulse of what people need. Breakfast great and cooked by owner. Will definitely stay again when in... More

I must say this has to be one of the best places I've stayed. Having been caught out by train cancellations, Glad to have found a room at the last minute after they had a cancellation. Breakfast was a wonderful experience. The host was so welcoming and accommodating.

Stayed for one night in room five. The bed was comfortable and the room spotlessly clean. There was some paint peeling off the wall in the shower, however that is nitpicking !!! Breakfast was cooked to order and was more than acceptable. Great location in the centre of town with free parking. It isn't luxury but is fine place for... More

It's good that you enjoyed your stay We are aware that the decor is in need of some TLC but the B & B has simply been too much in demand this year to entertain it. There will be an additional room for 2016 which will hopefully allow for us to carry out some renovation work on a rolling basis,... More

I stayed one night when I was down in Yorkshire on busines but could happily have stayed longer. The safe, private car park was a huge bonus as was the location of the B&B. We had the family room: 1 double and 2 full-width singles with en suite bathroom up a steep set of stair; only a velux window. The room was cramped: only space for 1 bedside table.
