From the first step on to the island until the final step on to the seaplane this was the best 2 week holiday we have ever had. Greeted by traditionally dressed staff and a drummer to welcome us as we overdressed newbies disembarked the Dhoni that had picked up from the seaplane we had already added new experiences to our lives. The first item was to get rid of shoes and socks and trousers for the duration of the stay, next a dip in the warm sea with colours no photograph can ever do justice to. The two weeks were pure relaxation. Although small the resort is perfectly formed, the villas are set back in the shade of palm trees and other exotic trees or over the water at the west end. Even though the occupancy was high during our stay it felt as if there were very few people around and you could enjoy seclusion and peace away from the the bustling world. The wildlife above and below the water was mind blowing, sharks that swim around your ankles as you take the first coffee of the day knee deep in the sea in front of your villa, parrotfish of every colour, pipefish, turtles even dolphins. On land herons, fruit bats, lizards and so many hermit crabs you had to watch where to put your feet. The food was exceptional, so much variety three times a day in the restaurant and the fall back of snacks and drinks from the bar all day. The most important element of the holiday was the staff - always unfailingly polite, happy and wanting to do their best for you, they elevate the holiday to perfect.…
Love Vilamendhoo, it really does feel like coming home in a way (i wish this was my home, to be honest). I've been here a few times already, and will be coming back only to this island after experiencing a few others. This place is pure paradise and they really go out of their way to make your experience perfect. When you're a returning guest, they also find extra ways to pamper you. The welcoming smiles here, no matter who you approach, really make a difference. The entire staff, from waiters, to the diving team, receptionists, customer care, management, the spa ladies, the excursion gang, are all so helpful and caring. The covid measures were easy to follow and don't interrupt with the casual setting, and you only have to wear a mask in closed areas and on line for the buffet, for example. The island was exceptionally clean and the gardeners were constantly planting new trees and working on display. Food was great, with a large choice as usual, although there could be more vegan options. The all inclusive is really wroth it if you want extra activities and not to worry about snacks and alcohol. The spa, as usual, wow. Great staff, and the Balinese message pure, heaven every time. Can't wait to come back (actually already working on that). The only non smiley face i would mention, was by the doctor on the last day, checking for PCR, she was probably the least communicative in the whole team. But otherwise, Vilamendhoo is the full package!…
We just got back from Vilamiedhoo. We spent two wonderful weeks there. The hotel is very clean, the staff professional and friendly. The food is varied and very good. We would like more grilled fish and meat without sauces. The all-inclusive offer of drinks and snacks is good and also includes cocktails and mini bar. For snacks, I would praise the garlic bread, which is great. We tried an Asian restaurant that we didn’t like as the main restaurant which is on a much higher level. The house reef is close to the shore and easily accessible, the corals are broken, but it is full of fish. We have already dived on other islands in the Maldives, but we have never seen so many fish. On the reef you can see manta rays, whales, skates, moraines, jacks, string ray, dolphins, turtles ... The all-inclusive offer also includes 2 free excursions: sunset cruise and snorkeling. Both trips were very good. I would praise the guys on the ship. We also tried night snorkeling and all day boat snorkeling. Both trips were fantastic. The only criticism we would have of the evening’s happenings. Every night the program is so boring that you have to work hard to stay awake. One day a week he is a DJ who is the only one I would praise. Twice a week there is live music, which is of good quality, but the selection of songs is completely wrong, as they play slow and sad songs that put you to sleep, so the whole bar is emptied in 1 hour. I would love a little more fun and dancing on vacation. …
Best Island of Maledives, greenest Island and Best Housereef, Food ist so much of all Favorites we have, very good Curry with Fish or Meat, i Like that dalcurry 👍👍👍👍👍 In Housereef you can See all that who lives in the Indian Ocean!!!
Stop lighting and climate im empty villas. Encourage guests to reduce or deactivate the climate when they are longer outside the vila (for example half day or all day activities). I think that would by a benefit for “ green way”
Superb resort for snorkelling from a small island 250 metres x 900 metres, set within tropical plants and wildlife. Note there is a sea current that flows east to west or west to east depending on the season
Just back from the perfect week at Vilamendhoo island resort. The island itself is absolutely stunning and the beach villa I stayed in (144) was cosy and kept super clean by housekeeping on a daily basis (option of twice daily). The food was incredible with a huge variety of dishes to chose from. The snorkelling was out of this world. Already planning a return trip!
Vilamendhoo is an island for a perfect stay. The two parts, adult and family is fine for couples and families. All you need is totaly well organized- from the airport Male till back to the airport. You can relax, when you want or you can do differnt kind of activities. The first time we say : We will back again.
We spent two weeks at Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa and it deserves the highest praise. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so welcoming and friendly and took such good care of us, always going the extra mile to ensure that we were getting the most out of our holiday. The staff really do this resort credit, nothing is too much trouble. Special mentions to Ilham in the restaurant who looked after us exceptionally well and made our holiday even more special, Hussain who also assisted in the restaurant and took good care of us, Ibrahim who looked after our rooms and always left them immaculate and Hamza and the crew of the Zenio who took me out on several trips and helped to find the most amazing marine life encounters with whale sharks and manta rays. I was particularly impressed with the resort's ability to deal with food allergies, I have a nut allergy and was introduced to one of the chefs who showed me their system. All the dishes in the buffet restaurant have a card stating the name of the dish and then all the allergens contained in that dish using pictures. It made the whole process of choosing what to eat so easy and allowed me to try dishes that I might not normally have tried due to concerns over contents. Well done Vilamendhoo for taking such a pragmatic approach, it is much appreciated. The island itself is just magical, the house reef is simply spectacular, I've never seen so many fish species in one place. Metres from the door of the beach villas is some of the best snorkelling I've ever done with turtles, sharks, eels and rays all present without having to leave the island. The facilities are also great, we had adjoining beach villas which were very clean and comfortable and had a partly open air bathroom which was a fun addition. The bar area both inside and out is very comfortable and well equipped, all the servers were very friendly and the range of food and drink available on the All Inclusive Plus Package along with the care and detail put into preparing that food was impressive. The resort offers a great range of excursions to experience all that the local area has to offer including trips to see whale sharks, manta rays, turtles, neighbouring reefs and a sunset cruise to name a few. The guides for the excursions are great, they're really knowledgeable and do their very best to make sure you get the most out of your excursion. We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday and could not have asked for more from the resort, I would recommend Vilamendhoo to anyone wishing to visit the Maldives, it was truly a magical holiday.…
It was a perfect holiday with great weather and, apart from a few days, ideal water quality for photographing rays, lionfish and boxfish. The restaurant provides excellent catering from breakfast to dinner. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was strikingly unobtrusive. We will come back in any case!
