Finns never fails to impress me with their meals. We have been numerous times with many different people and on every occasion all have been very pleased with their meals and desserts. Service is laid back and friendly, and there is a great selection of wine, beer and drinks.

Booked for business stay, to be closer to work and were greeted by a very friendly receptionist at the bar. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. Bathrooms have lovely deep spa baths and underfloor heating. The restaurant meals were exceptional, well presented and very tasty and reasonably priced. The owners are friendly and welcoming and accommodating, to the point of... More

There isn't a lot of choice in Paekakariki but if you don't want to stay in Wellington but want to be within a short driving distance from the capital city, Finn's at Paekakariki is a good choice. While it is close to the railway line, double-glazing ensures that there is no disturbance when staying at Finns. The room was spacious,... More

The cafe over the road had run out of decaf coffee and suggested the hotel . I was surprised but tried it and as I suspected - it was awful. Some people just don't know how to do a long black and I sooooo wanted one at the start of my four hour journey! It was weak. Tasted old though... More

This was a last-minute booking. We had been trying to get 2 nights at Paraparaumu from where we were taking a day flight to The Sounds. Nothing available for some reason so we went further south & found Finn's. Hotel check-in is at one end of the Bar. Nancy was most welcoming & asked us to drive round the back... More

Was in Paekakariki for a wedding - and friends kindly booked me into Finn's for two nights. I was initially a little confused at where I was to "check in" - as this is a shared counter with the house restaurant, but was ultimately welcomed and shown to my room by a very pleasant woman. What a great room! Spacious,... More

Got to Wellington after traveling from Napier and thought we would wing it...whoops, the cricket was on and it was Chinese New Year and Wellington was booked out, there was nothing even in Levin or Masterton. Thankfully after lots of phone calls i managed to secure a room at Finn's Paekakariki. What an awesome place, the staff were so welcoming,... More

We were looking for an overnight stop before catching the ferry to South Island so arrived here by accident. This proved to be a pleasant surprise. Rooms were newly fitted out, large and spacious, ensuit was well equipped with a large spar type bath. There was a good sized balcony to the room where you could sit out. At $135... More
