I totally understand why this place has such glowing reviews! My family had a perfect stay. It was clean, comfortable, and the customer service was phenomenal. The location couldn’t be better, and the owners seem to genuinely love their job and care about their guests. For the price, you will absolutely not find a better place to stay on the island. My only disappointment was having to leave after only a day!

This was a great location a few blocks from the main town with restaurants and tour meeting spots, so very easy to walk to but beware there are no sidewalks for part of the walk. We stayed in room number 5, which seemed cramped even with two beds, so we were glad we were only staying here for one night. The comfort of the beds was average; not terrible but not great either. The AC worked well to cool down the room in the hot temps. There are no elevators, so we took stairs up to our room and the walkway to the room was narrow but had furniture (chairs, hammock) for guests to use outside of the rooms. It was difficult to sleep in because of the barking dogs and crowing roosters early in the morning. They provide a $3 credit for breakfast, so my husband ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, potato, and onion skewers which was good. The owner was very friendly and allowed us to store our duffel bags in the lobby after we checked out so we could go on an excursion.

So we are a family of 5(2 adults and 3 t(w)eens) so we need a fair amount of space to keep the peace. When we found VGH online we thought it would be perfect and it was. We stayed in room 6 which is a 2BR/1BA with a full kitchen and living area. We found the unit in perfect condition, very clean and the furniture and fixtures seemed modern and up to date. The beds were very comfortable and they had AC units that kept things cool. They stocked our room full of plenty of towels(beach and bath) and had sand toys and snorkel gear for use during our stay. We stocked up on some food at the little market that is about a block or two away, this saved us time and $$.

The location is perfect, just a block or so away from the Malecon where the bars and restaurants are located, so it is close enough to this stuff, but far enough away that you don't hear any of the noise. There is a very secluded beach that is about 100 yards away that is just magnificent.

As others noted the owners were great and were very good about covid protocols. They felt bad that they couldn't provide more service like continental breakfast, daily cleaning, etc. But they kept telling us that if we needed anything to please let them know. They did set up coffee/tea every morning outside the lobby so you could walk down and get that if you wanted.

Esperanza is a great place to be able to explore the island, it is smaller than Isabella II, but that is just fine for those looking for an adventure. It is really a great place to be able to explore the many amazing beaches and other wonders of Vieques. VGH is just the perfect place to call home for the time you are in Vieques.

We loved our stay at The Vieques Guesthouse - from the moment we arrived, Todd and Amanda made us feel welcomed and comfortable. Our room on the third floor was perfect - clean and comfortable with a great view of the water from the large balcony. We took full advantage of the balcony - a great place to hang out and enjoy the beautiful weather, with plenty of chairs/tables and a hammock! We enjoyed the breakfast every morning prepared by Chef Stephanie - so convenient to have a great meal downstairs before heading out for the day (cinnamon roll Sunday was perfect!)
Amanda and Todd were so helpful with recommendations of things to do and places to eat on the island - Lizzie's Lunchbox was one of our favorites (the best tacos)! We could walk to the main area of Esperanza - restaurants, shops and a museum. We did the BioBay tour during our stay, and it was great to be able to walk from the guesthouse to JAK Water Sports where our tour started. If you have a car, I highly recommend exploring the island - there is so much to see and explore!
Across the road from the guesthouse (a short path from the parking lot) was an amazing beach - definitely a highlight of our stay. We felt like we had a magical place all to ourselves - so beautiful! The guesthouse has beach towels and beach chairs you can borrow - it was perfect!
We are already planning our return trip to this beautiful island and The Vieques Guesthouse - Thank you to Amanda and Todd for helping to make it a memorable vacation!

The hosts of this property were so amazing. At the 11th hour they rescued us from a mishap from where we were originally staying. They made it very easy for us to transition over on the fly well after hours. Their property is in a great location and across the street from a trail (and a quick walk) to a secluded beach. We had a wonderful experience here and would absolutely come back.

We truly felt like we were guests in a friend's home at the Vieques Guesthouse!

I initially booked our stay for different dates; however, upon realizing the full moon schedule would prevent us from a bioluminescent kayaking adventure, I spoke with Todd who was super helpful and helped me quickly change the reservation and ensure we had all the info we needed to book our kayak tour in advance (PS - highly recommend JAK watersports!) We also received plenty of advance notice both upon booking and a few days before our arrival about what to expect re: check-in times and other procedures/nuances of the island. We definitely recommend asking the team for taxi recommendations if that's something you'll need. We didn't rent a car or vehicle, and if we were staying longer on the island, we probably would've done so

At check in, Amanda was so incredibly welcoming and helped us get oriented to the island very quickly despite us arriving at the same time as other guests. She took her time with each party and made us feel right at home (and the other guests were lovely, as well!). We LOVED her recommendation for Lizzie's taco truck (which we had for lunch both days!) and also enjoyed two nights of vegetarian specials at Tradewinds. Our room (#5) was very clean and spacious, and despite a full house, it was very quiet and peaceful each night. We thoroughly enjoyed the on-site breakfast each morning and appreciated the option to grab a few snacks for days spent adventuring, as well.

When we reflected on our Puerto Rico trip, Vieques was our highlight and our only regret is that we wish we would've stayed longer! Thanks Amanda and Todd for a lovely stay.

We had a great experience right from the beginning at Vieques Guesthouse. Amanda checked us in and offered many recommendations for our stay. We took her up on many of those and she was absolutely correct. The apartment was clean, updated, and comfortable. Our group of four stayed in room 6 which has two bedrooms. One bedroom with a double bed and another with a double and a twin (maybe a queen, I wasn't in the double room). We didn't use our full kitchen much but it was nice it was there. The bathroom was well stocked and clean. We really enjoyed the rooftop deck for watching the sunset, ocean views, and the horses running by. The walk to town or a great beach takes about 3 minutes. Plenty of restaurants, bars, and gift shops, even when visiting during their slow time. We also rented a Jeep to visit parts of the island a little farther away. The breakfast each morning was enjoyed by all of us. It's not a huge menu but there is something for everyone and it was delicious. Overall, this is a great property. We were very impressed with the cleanliness, how visually appealing it was, ease of getting into town, and all of the staff members. Thank you Amanda and crew.

Great location - easy walking distance to town and beaches. Very friendly and helpful owners and staff. Quieter location than right downtown. Breakfast is discounted if you stay there and they have beach equipment rentals onsite. Recommend!

Our room was nice and I enjoyed the decorations and the ocean view from the top floor. The location was nice for walking to restaurants, tour pickups, etc. I especially enjoyed the 45 minute walk mostly along the beach to the Playa Negra (black sand beach). Todd and Amanda are very friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond when our scheduled taxi ride fell through and we couldn't find another taxi to take us to the airport. Todd drove us to the airport in his own vehicle and then went back again to bring my phone that I left in the rush to leave. Todd did not have to do that and our trip would have been so much more stressful and expensive if he had not. We wished we could have stayed another day or two to take advantage of the relaxing location and the chairs, snorkeling equipment, etc they lend guests.

We loved staying at the Vieques Guesthouse. The main reason is because Amanda, one of the co-owners, was so awesome. She gave us lots of ideas on activities to do. She helped us think through our options. She was fun and kind and full of tips.

We enjoyed the hotel. Even though our room was on the first floor, we could go up to roof and watch the sunset. We were able to walk to Coconut beach and swing on a giant swing. We walked to Esperanza and were able to also walk to our bioluminesence tour meeting spot.

The hotel also offered a breakfast for purchase that we enjoyed and was a great start to our day. We also rented beach chairs and towels from the hotel which made visiting other beaches more enjoyable.

Unless you are a resident of Vieques, no. The current executive order runs through February 7th; We have no way to know what the new rules will be after that. The cheapest option for a flight would be Vieques Air Link from Ceiba (RVR) airport. Their flights are $40/person each way, and can be booked directly on their website. Hope this helps!!
