We just returned from a 5 night stay at the White Rocks. Room #319 was great. It’s in the main building which is very convenient. It has a beach view with a balcony and the best water pressure & rain shower head. The front desk staff were very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. The pool was enjoyable. The chaises were very comfy. There is bar & food service by the pool. The breakfast buffet (included) was adequate. They constantly ran out of hot water for Tea (you have to fill your own tea pot at the buffet) We much preferred the public beach next door as the WR private beach is very narrow and has loads of slippery rocks in the water. We enjoyed having drinks at the Lungomare Bar, but the staff could have been a bit more attentive. The location was great as there are lots of shops & restaurants nearby (walking distance). A taxi into Argostoli is only 8 euro. The front desk will call a cab for you. Food & drink prices were reasonable. Close to Airport and a winery. Not suitable for guests with mobility issues. We will be back!!

Hotel's Favorite
When we booked this hotel, the only rooms available were the standard rooms; either rear view facing the road, or sea view. The bungalows look to be very nice, but these were all fully booked, some by people who had booked back in 2020 at the start of the pandemic. Our sea view room (329) was fine, and had a lovely view from the balcony. Nice shower over the bath and towels changed regularly. Be aware that Platos Gialos, the beach near the main hotel building, is a public beach so can be a bit noisy at times during the day. The hotel's private beach is a fair walk away from the main building, and so is the pool, which I felt was a bit small for a hotel of this size. Everywhere is kept very clean, and I often saw housekeeping sweeping up around the place first thing. Covid precautions are excellent. All staff wore masks at all times, and guests are encouraged to wear them while in the building and not seated at a table. Plenty of sanitizer available. The food is a good standard. There were what I think were a few start of season hiccups in catering, but nothing that didn't get sorted out. Breakfasts were very good. Great selection of cooked and cold items, and I loved the choices of leaf tea that you make for yourself. We never ate lunch here, nor did we use the a la carte restaurant downstairs, although you can get a €15 discount there in the evening. Dinner was good. Plenty of choices, and I would recommend the freshly cooked items from the grill counter, especially when fish, e.g. sea bream is being prepared. Lovely salad selection, and delicious desserts as well. Staff in the restaurant were very friendly and efficient. I cannot remember names, but the restaurant manager, Fotis, was always on hand with a cheerful greeting. The front desk were so helpful. Our holiday came to an abrupt end when my wife fractured her ankle 2 days before were were due to return home. The front desk ladies - sorry, I can't recall names - were very caring and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. Fotis very kindly arranged for a selection of food from the buffet to be brought to our room, as it was impossible for us to use the restaurant. I cannot thank the staff here enough. If you plan to walk into Lassi from the hotel, don't go out of the front of the hotel and walk along the road. There are private steps down to Platos Gialos, from where you can walk in safety. One other thing I would say - this hotel may not be for you if you have mobility issues, as getting into and out of the hotel could be a problem without assistance. If you are going to stay within the hotel area for your holiday, then you won't have a problem. I would emphasise that this would only be a problem for very few people. Overall, a lovely hotel, close to Lassi and Argostoli, and with lovely staff.

We have just returned from a lovely holiday at the White Rocks, which really is a great hotel. Unfortunately for us there were niggly things that would stop us from returning. The staff were absolutely brilliant, professional, friendly and efficient. Our room, a sea view bungalow, was fabulous. Loads of room, loads of storage, loads of hangers and a lovely balcony with great views. Ladies - the hairdryer was pretty good, but no box of tissues in room unless you ask. The pool area was lovely but pool not big enough for size of hotel. It definitely needs another pool somewhere. The sunbeds were the best we have ever laid on anywhere in the world, incredibly comfortable and no problem finding free beds. The pool bar was nice, except we do not like drinking cold white wine out of a plastic beaker. There are good plastic wine glasses around nowadays. The food here was just ok. Toasted Club Sandwich - cold - in fact everything served was cold. They don't heat anything. We didn't like the hotel beach, very narrow and rough underfoot. We had beach shoes and even with those on it was a nightmare getting into the sea over the rocks. Very slippery. The gravelly track going down to the beach is an accident waiting to happen. A lot has been mentioned about the steps and slopes throughout the hotel from other reviewers, so we were aware of this before going. However, we were not prepared for the amount of steps and slopes - some slopes very steep. We are relatively fit and found them extremely tedious and hard work in the heat. Finally, the buffet. We were half board, but after 3 nights visiting the buffet, decided to dine out. The food was, in our opinion, very poor. Spag Bol every night. The food on the live cooking station was insignificant - tiny pieces of chicken and fish being overcooked. Puds were however, tasty. It is a mystery why hotels of this calibre cannot create a nicer dining experience in a buffet restaurant. They are always like canteens. Great shame. Perhaps dimmed lighting, lights on the tables, paper tablecloths - who knows, but it's not our cup of tea. You sometimes think that the next hotel you stay in will be better, but they are all the same!!

Great hotel - spotlessly clean, fabulous staff right through from Reception , to maids, to waiting on staff . Picturesque setting with sea views , all out door areas carefully designed around the beautiful large trees so plenty of shady as well as sunny places to sit and relax. We avoided the evening buffets as its not our thing and we were visiting friends so not around the hotel in the evenings - we tried it one time and there was an extensive choice so if all inclusive is your go to, then it's good -but to us it just had that canteen feel in the evening that these style of hotels find hard to get away from. Breakfast was excellent -as was A la carte at lunch. Those with mobility issues should think carefully about staying here -its a large hotel spread across a fair length of the cliff so there are lots of stairs and only a very small lift. ONly book a seaview room - we didn't and 'garden view' equates to roadside. Its a busy road and noisy most of the night, it's reflected in the price but I would stay elsewhere if you can't budget for the sea side of the Hotel. It is a large hotel - feels like its expanded maybe too much for the number of guests staying -the pool is beautiful but simply not big enough for a hotel of this size. There is also no adult only swim area, as there is no children's pool. The Hotel beach is tiny and swim shoes are advised - the larger beach is £10 a day for sunloungers and well worth it but the best beach is CostaCosta, loungers here are £25 but it really is worth it if you stay there for the day We are now in the era of living with Covid , we toured the entire island and this Hotel was the only place where we found all the staff masked, making us feel like it was a managerial decision to keep the staff masked whilst they served guests. Whilst it's only my personal POV , I feel at the tail end of 2022 the predominantly young staff should be permitted to make their own choices. In the same vein, huge sanitizer bottles on every dining table and drinks table across the entire Hotel is overkill and unnecessary . Did we enjoy our trip - overall yes, but with caveats about our choice of room and the pool size in relation to the Hotel size

We have had the most wonderful holiday in beautiful surroundings. The team at White Rocks could not be nicer and we have been a hop, skip and jump from the sparkling Ionian sea. We have eaten like Greek gods and goddesses with food and drink from Kefalonia, as well as meals to suit all palates. We have had a room with a sea view, which has been stunning. Without doubt we shall be back!

A beautiful full service hotel. I sprung for a sea view room with a balcony but spent most of my time at the private beach. Decent snorkeling right there. I ate at the à la cart restaurant which was very good and not terribly expensive. The buffet dinner was surprisingly bland. The buffet breakfast was very good with a nice selection.

Without any doubt, my favourite hotel in the world. And that’s coming from a 26 year old travel agent who has been fortunate to visit 28 countries. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the loveliest reception team. The view from our sea-view room was nothing short of outstanding from the moment you walk through your room door. The location of this hotel is situated on a cliff side that has the most amazing scenic illuminating green pine trees that meet the blue turquoises of the water beneath. It really is a breathtaking site. There is a public beach below that never becomes too crowded and always has sun-beds available. Moving onto the hotel itself, Very rarely can you give a 10/10 for the hotel as well as a 10-10 for the location. If you are looking for the perfect holiday destination for you and your partner this place is for you. And they have larger bungalows for families. The half-board restaurant dining is excellent and the team of waiters/waitresses can’t do enough for you. I.e they will automatically deliver your drinks each night without you having to take your order. Amazing! Food is served to an excellent standard and dishes are constantly being replenished even when the dishes aren’t empty which is great as it means the food is being served fresh and hot. The cuisine is totally different each night which means there is always plenty of choice and the views from the restaurant with the veranda doors wide open is brilliant when dining allowing for a lovely breeze and the perfect sunset. The rooms are always made spotlessly clean each day, beach towels are constantly being replaced and the showers are fantastic! You get shower gel, shampoo, hairdryer, fridge, safe and air conditioning included which is a great touch as you can pay a lot for these extras at different hotels. And to round off the above, I need to mention the sunsets! Just wow. Now then, as I have praised this hotel above, it would only be fair and unbiased if I offered my constructive points where I think slight improvements could be made. I say this only because we 110% plan on returning to this hotel in the near future. Please feel free to address and respond to the following points below, 1.) Sat having lunch at the lunch bar on the grassed hill, I can’t understand why the drinks glasses have changed to plastic. I have to be honest, when I’m on holiday I love a nice cold beer in a frozen glass with a handle, and this is what it used to be here! However this time, our large beer was served in a narrow plastic cup, which made me feel like I was at an all inclusive hotel, and that is not a good feeling! If it’s to avoid glassware around the pool or beach, I understand that however I think the grassed tables should have real glasses with signs up saying not to “take glasses beyond this certain point” so we opted to head to the costa costa beach bar and Argostoli marina for a proper beer! 2.) I really like the fact the hotel has relaxed the no short’s policy in the evenings as I feel it’s nice to have a mix of smart shorts or trousers especially as it is hot. However, I was slightly disappointed when a man rocked up on the table next to us in Adidas swim shorts and flip flops. I really do think that a “no sports clothes and flip flop” policy should be introduced immediately only in the evenings so you don’t end up feeling overdressed. This has slightly put me off staying on half board again I must admit! 3.) Desserts! Even though there was a variety of desserts, most of the cakes that were served were all chocolate based every night. I remember when I had previously visited that there was more fruitier cakes that you could get a slice of. 4.) A coffee machine is needed at breakfast where you can grab Latte’s, mocha’s, cappuccino’s etc! As well as the option to purchase a freshly squeezed orange juice maybe? I would be grateful if the hotel could reply to this review and explain the reasons for the above points. Thank you for an amazing holiday and we look forward to returning next year hopefully!

White Rocks from arrival to our departure was beyond our expectations and we travel lots. Stunning location with great facilities and staff that couldn’t be kinder or more attentive. Our sea facing room was a good size with everything we needed, the daily cleaning staff had our room done each morning before we came back from breakfast - much appreciated. The buffet not usually our thing had a good variety of choices from healthy to decadent. The resort restaurant in its gorgeous sea facing sunset viewing setting made for relaxing and romantic dinners for two. As a gay couple we felt comfortable and welcomed hugely important for us. The private beach and pool area are incredible and made for many relaxing days of sun ☀️ and lunches on the waterside. We originally booked for four nights and stayed for nine, this says loads as we couldn’t imagine leaving such a uniquely situated and well managed resort. Kefalonia is a majestic jewel 💎 of the Greek islands and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. We do recommend renting a car for a few days the beaches and mountains are worth discovering, the island has much to offer! The front reception staff couldn’t have done more to make our stay such a positive experience - helpful, open and friendly. Bravo 🙌 Thank You 🙏 White Rocks we will be back! Richard & Chippy

My partner and I visited White Rocks for 2 weeks this August and honestly is the most beautiful place we have ever visited. We consider ourselves island hoppers and enjoy visiting different Greek islands each year and for the first time we have found a hotel we will absolutely return to next year. You would find it difficult to beat the views of White Rocks as the hotel extends across a cliff edge where the sun sets over the waters edge every evening. The hotel itself is luxurious, the staff are fantastic and extremely attentive and helpful. There are a few hills given the nature of the Hotel setting but plenty of accommodation near to the restaurant if needed. Do not get discouraged by some of the older reviews, you don’t need to wear trousers in the restaurant but still expected to dress smart which is great. You get a discount if you have lunch at the hotel or pool, so if you want to explore the local taverns in the evening you don’t feel like you have wasted a meal. The bookable restaurant has arguably some of the best meals we had on the island. Any of the sea facing rooms you wouldn’t be disappointed with as there are none in my opinion that don’t give you a full view of the sea. In all the White Rocks is a beautiful hotel, has a perfect romantic setting and the low tasteful music durning the day and evening create a great atmosphere. With short walks to fine Sandy beaches and car rentals available to explore the island you would struggle to best this place. (Even the taxi drivers raise their eyebrows when you give them your location) Thanks again Matt & Sian Could not fault this hotel in anyway we will definitely be back. *TIP - do not pre book a hire car online before arriving, the rental companies in the local towns are significantly cheaper than online companies and have lots of availability
