The Old Vicarage is a unique bed and breakfast venue located in the charming hamlet of St Clement on the outskirts of the Cathedral City of Truro. Situated in one of the most picturesque and tranquil locations in Cornwall the property, which dates back to the 1500s, is a literal stone's throw from the banks of the beautiful Tresillian River. Full Cornish breakfast is included.

The Old Vicarage is beautiful with a beautiful garden overlooking the River. Our room was a good size with a very comfortable bed and all facilities that you could need. The large bathroom was beautiful and there was ample towel drying space that included a heated towel rail, wonderful.A pet hate of mine is the ubiquitous notice asking us to think of the environment and not put out towels for washing everyday but then not supplying enough towel rails. You will not eat your breakfast in a more beautiful place. Visit and enjoy.

Where to begin...? We've found our dream spot in this beautiful corner of the world. Nothing less! This place has truly fulfilled our craving for the english countryside in all its glory. If you don't have time to read this full review, then the short version is: Go! You won't regret! Our plan to sample Cornwall in just 3 days could not have been at a better location, in our humble opinion. Even without our own car (we came by train into Truro), it was really sweet and convenient getting to the Old Vicarage. Supereasy to get to in a few minutes by taxi, quiet and peacefully situated right on the most tranquil riverbank. We were taken aback by the utterly idyllic vicarage and its surrounding garden, beauty 360°!! The exquisite garden bathes in sun from early morning, in where we had our most delicious breakfast al fresco. Lilies, roses, magnolia, lavender... The scents, the sight...! Oh, breakfast! Just.really.really.good! Marilyn cooks your order right there, and it is clear that the owners are right foodies, with eye for detail and taking great pride in hospitality! Quality toast, organic eggs from local farm, homemade preserves, oh..... And springhoney direct out of their own garden. Best breakfast ever to be had, getting emotional thinking about it! The rooms.... Just superb, in every way. From the views of either the old church, or the garden and river with its ebb and flow - to the little touches: Such as artisan coffee, huge selection of teas, and cornish bisquits provided daily. It was a delight to start and end each day in our rooms. The bed, the bedding, the mattress, the pillows - simply TOP notch! Other things we loved: - The honesty bar, where one can help oneself to a well stocked fridge/cabinwt of beverages/drink. - The AMAZING surrounding nature, - wonderful birdlife. We saw deers, hawks, herons, woodpeckers, squirrels, and listened to all day melodious birds living their happiest life! - The great connections by train from Truro, and the advice offered from The Old Vicarage. All advice on outings came in handy, even the map provided so that we could reach the most amazing little gem of a pub, through a beautiful footpath from St. Clement to Malpas. - The owners of The Old Vicarage were the sweetest; fun, warm, relaxed and inviting, and clearly very very good at what they do. - The charm of tiny St. Clement. Blink, and you'll miss it passing by, but please don't blink! The church, with a tiny gallery, and few surrounding houses create something out of a storybook or movie and will creep under your skin. We were truly sad to leave!! I can see us coming back soon. Thank you for your effort and dedication in having created such a haven, your place is a rare pearl and we're grateful to have had the experience of staying with you. Kindest regars from Mother and daughter, from Norway We give you 10 out of 10, and take pride in recommending you to

We had the pleasure of staying at the Vicarage this weekend and we were struck by the splendour of the place. It was immaculate and I couldn't find fault with any of it. The building is lovingly preserved without losing any of its former charm. You could film a period drama at Saint Clement it's that unspoilt. It was warm and welcoming with picture perfect views over the estuary. The hosts Jon and Marilyn were wonderful and the breakfast was second to none. Homemade preserves as well. I only live on the other coast but wanted to stay here. Would go back without a doubt.

I can't find anything negative to say about The Old Vicarage. John and Marilyn were excellent hosts. The rooms are stunning, contemporary and spotlessly clean. Coupled with great WiFi and lovely breakfast we can highly recommend this Band B to anyone wishing for luxury accommodation in the Truro area.
