Lijo restaurant is a good example that quality food can be found anywhere. Perfectly made fried calamari, grilled halloumi with caramelized onions were starters that we needed. Helpful staff made the place to shine even brighter, though mains lacked that special umf.
We had room 11 which was perfect, with a teenager who could have the small room up stairs. ( not sure the steep stairs are good for a young child) There was a nice balcony with two chairs, you could bring out the third chair for your third person. The breakfast was good fresh food with a lovely cup of freshly made coffee. We were disappointed they were fully booked and we couldn’t stay an extra night. We had already eaten before arrival, but the restaurant seemed very popular.
Very nice contemporary hotel. Room was very comfortable and clean. Service was great. Breakfast was even better. There's not too much in Gargzdai but this is the place to stay. The connected restaurant is excellent too.
Absolutely great place in the middle of nowhere. Certainly worth to visit while traveling to the seaside (approximately 5 km away of the motorway). Food is just unbelievably excellent, service is good and prices are fair.
I was wondered! Me and my girlfriend like this place. We are visiting it 2-3 times per month. All dishes are tasty. Beef salad in Lijo restaurant is the best salad in West Lithuania. Good service. Loud young companies is normal visitors of this place on weekends :(
We stayed at this hotel which is positioned in the centre of the quiet village of Gargzdai approximately 10 miles from the coastline of Klapeda and Palanga which is on the Baltic Sea. We stayed over for approximately 5 days during our one week’s sightseeing trip in Lithuania. We couldn’t have chosen a better place for the surrounding areas and attractions in the north of the country before spending our last two days in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Trip Advisors beware; as the first two days we made a mistake at breakfast time. Only the basics which are laid out on a small table are included in the Bed & Breakfast price. When you sit down for breakfast you are given a menu which we ordered from, not realising and not told that items on the menu are at an extra cost! During the day, the breakfast restaurant area becomes a very well frequented meeting place for coffee and snacks with the locals. During the evening they serve food and afterwards it becomes once again a very sociable place as a drinking and nibbles bar. They also have to the rear of the hotel, an outside eating and drinking area. I would perhaps say this is the most popular meeting and socialising place in the village of Gargzdai. The hotel rooms are very basic whilst at the same time very clean and have a typical European or Alpine feel to them. I would have no difficulty in recommending this place to any Trip Advisors.…
Our family popped in for lunch today. Haven't been here before but definitely will make my way back next time! I had tomato soup - omg! Beautiful flavours mixed with green pesto yummy. My main course was Quinoa with grilled veg and feta cheese. Ulala! I like quinoa but this time I fall in love with it 😊. Thanks to Lijo team! Portions desent size, even though I had to take some with me as couldn't finish my main. Service was friendly and attentive. We had a little baby with us so had to take turns to eat. Waitress was helpful and kept eye on us. Thank you Gintare!
One of the best restaurants in western Lithuania.Amazing food and excellent service for surprisingly cheap prices.I would really recommend that restaurant to anybody who is after real real restaurant food which is quite seldom in Lithuania.
One of the best hotel i have ever been, with one of the best hotrl's restaurant I have ever tried (food and drinks at a very high quality), both at a good value for money. I was really sad to say goodbye!
I spent only one night at The hotel Lijo and was almost sorry the stay was so short. It is a modern and very cosy hotel, very clean, service is very pleasant and making you feel at home. I booked a single room, but got a family room (for the same price though), so I can say that if booked a room for a mom dad and a not too small child, it will be a very convenient arrangement with beds for adults downstairs and child’s bed upstairs in the attic. Though it was hot, hotel provides air conditioning and it is very well regulated and not too noisy. Noise is generally not a problem as the hotel is situated at the edge of the park, in quiet corner and still at the town centre. Windows of my room faced park and private residence area towards Minija River. Room is provided with shower, which is very good and spacious, though water takes time to warm. Breakfast is included into the room price. It is not very variable and there is no hot food (warm boiled eggs though), but the quality is superb – it was difficult to believe that such food is served at a hotel in a small provincial town in Lithuania. There is a bar and a restaurant at the hotel so it is possible to dine there too. I only tried their cheese cake, which was very good, though not stunning. Tea was very good, too, served in beautiful cups of modern design and… extremely uncomfortable. I would recommend changing them into something less elegant and more convenient.…
