I've always wanted to visit 2 of the main sites along Hadrian's Wall ever since my wife walked it's entirety a few years ago. Caraw B+B is perfectly positioned near Housesteads Roman Fort and the Sycamore Gap. The bonus is the B+B is also a first class stopping place with amazing views and lovely modern spacious rooms.

We spent three nights here. We found it by chance searching the Internet for somewhere close to Hexham, and what a lucky find! It is a farmhouse that has been beautifully refurbished and modernised, whilst keeping its character. We stayed in the Vindolanda room in the main house, which was very pretty with wonderful old beams in the vaulted ceiling.... More

Went for a night with my partner as a birthday celebration. Hands down the best b&b I have ever been to. Kevin and Leah were absolutely lovely. Had a lot of help given due to our bad planning of things but we were given great tips and things to do. It was a lovely stay, beds were so comfortable and... More

Carraw is an excellent B&B. We stayed in the Lodge and the room (Fieldfare) was excellent with a superb south facing view. Lounge and dining room in The Lodge were also excellent. The only slight down side was that the lady serving breakfast in the Lodge seemed rather under pressure, seemed like she could have done with an extra pair... More

Stayed in August (yes I know this is a later review!) and had an absolutely fabulous 2 nights. We stayed in Lapwing - the large room in the annexe - and the room was perfect - very well provided, superb comfortable bed, and views to die for through floor to ceiling Velux windows. There is only a walker's style dinner... More

One of the best b&bs we've stayed in. Very friendly staff, excellent breakfasts and great views. Rooms were spotless and comfortably furnished. Ideally located for walks along the wall. There are no pubs in walking distance but plenty of decent options if one of you is prepared to drive 15mins or so. Would highly recommended.

The interior was brand new with an exterior of stone. The accommodations, food and service were the best we have ever had. The view from our window was spectacular. Leah and Kevin couldn't have been more friendly, accommodating and helpful. Our room had it's own bathroom and faced south to an incredibly scenic view. The B&B is right on Hadrian's... More

Beautiful room, clean and so well appointed. We were in Lapwing in the Lodge. Amazing views. Great location for exploring Hadrian's Wall. We wish we had more time here. And the best breakfast we had across 7 different places. Try the porridge.

Take care to establish the location of this B&B before leaving home. The end of a long bike ride is not the time to find out it's another 6 miles and most of it uphill! My fault not theirs.
