Stayed here with my daughter on a short little getaway. Almonte is so picturesque that I assumed this inn would be as beautiful. So disappointed in the room we were put in as it looked nothing like the pictures on the website. Black curtains that were not even nicely pulled aside and a couch that I moved so it was somewhat centred. A 24” tv was almost laughable because it looked so ridiculous on the wall. Our door had a digital lock but we never could get it lock again so it was unlocked the entire stay. Assumed we would have access to some sort of breakfast and finally found a room at the back that had a coffee machine. I finally texted Rob to ask him about breakfast and he sent me the name of one restaurant and some take out places. On our last night, I was reading in bed using the light overhead. A huge live bug fell out onto me - enough said!! Definitely won’t be returning....

We came to the Almonte Riverside inn for the charm we saw in their spacious and romantic photos that are posted on their website. We saw flowy curtains, fireplace, patio with river view. NOT the case in person. Rooms are very small. The hotel has charm, but it is a huge let down due to lack of care in general. The bed itself is comfortable, clean. The curtains are cheap velvet that don’t even fit the windows and it makes no sense and is disappointing for the ambiance and also takes away from the beautiful view. In the morning when the sun is shining you wake up to the holes in the curtains and it just feels very Trashy. The tv is about 24 inches and way too small. No phone in your room or usb. No coffee maker and no menus or instructions. The vintage fireplace didn’t work so they put an electric one in front of it, but that was broken too. The small restaurant/bar is basically attached to the room and was very loud and open at least till about 11. If you are looking for a romantic couples night go somewhere else!! There is a tiny parking lot in the front but it is filled with employees cars so we parked on the street. We called the owner to find out where to get coffee and he told us it was in the lobby. However, there were only espresso pods and no water in the machine. All in all this hotel was not even close to hotel standard nor did it have any benefits of a bed and breakfast. Very disappointed for the $190 we paid for the night and would never return.

Overnight accommodations..horrible winter weather en route..arrivedsafely and staff were immediately helpful. Comfortable room..wonderful late night supper and then early morning breakfast (part of accommodation service). Morning coffee was delivered to my room..and it was appreciated! Rob - owner was very helpful and supportive of his community!!

I had planned a night away with my husband and thought this would be the perfect place. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations and I was left feeling disappointed. It had all the charm, I was looking for in Almonte but didn’t pass on cleanliness. We had several large ants in our room in February and the couch was covered in hairs. The shower had mold and it felt like no one had stayed there for awhile. The room did have a breathtaking view and the breakfast was good. I left feeling this place had great potential but didn’t deliver.

An amazing experience! From the arrival welcome to breakfast deliciousness, this venue offers a heritage waterfront getaway with fanatastic ambiance and cuisine. Chef Hunter wowed us with his "Kitchen Creation" to start our morning that featured a combination of tastes - in-house smoked ham, havarti cheese and perfect egg texture. Simply suberb!
