Stayed here for one night and had Chef's Table as a treat. We were seriously wowed, around 20 courses eaten at a table adjoining the kitchen, with the friendly, pretty cool, knowledgable chefs bringing dishes over and explaining them. The sommelier was excellent. You don't expect to find a young Spanish sommelier at a restaurant in rural Wales, but he... More

I booked the Chef's table experience for my Husband's birthday and goodness me, what a treat it turned out to be! The staff were utterly professional and we were left in no doubt of the quality of the establishment. The food we were served was sublime, some of the most interesting flavour combinations we've experienced and I dare say a... More

If you come to Ynys Hir expecting a gut bursting meal and to lounge around the hotel bar over a few pints then you will be disappointed. Ynys Hir is a top quality restaurant with rooms, so if you enjoy a Michelin standard taster menu in superb surroundings then you have to give this place a go. We spent a... More

A destination place where the highlight is the 14 course dinner, which is delivered by chef's who explain each dish, this adds to the theatre of the experience. attentive staff and beautiful place in quiet and idyllic grounds. Highly recommended

This is not a hotel in the normal sense. Its a restaurant with rooms attached. The tasting menu in the restaurant was fantastic (note takes 4 hours to serve) but this was the only dining option at the hotel. There was nothing else, not even basic food at the bar. Given the remoteness of the location other dining options involved... More

A must visit idyllic hotel. Arriving and approaching the hotel up the gravel driveway whilst surveying the immaculate gardens you just knew you were in for a treat. Greeted as we stepped from our car, bags swiftly whisked away and deposited in our room, while be wandered to reception. After checking in we were given a brief tour of the... More

My wife and I stayed and ate at Ynyshir Hall for my wife’s surprise birthday weekend, and from start to finish it was pretty much faultless. The hall itself has recently relaunched itself as a Michelin Restaurant and Luxury Rooms instead of being a hotel, but I suspect little has physically changed. The hall, which sits within 14 acres of... More

Don't go here unless you enjoy paying ridiculous prices for small quantities of weird food. We stayed in the pink bedroom. I mean PINK. My wife who is a very good interior decorator thought the entire property was unusually decorated and was "tired".

I'm utterly amazed to see a 'disappointing' review. I wonder if this was the same place. The building itself is lovely with great staff. But the the food being 'OK' is bewildering, it has a Michelin star. I have been fortunate enough to to travel a lot and have stayed in some lovely places. The food here was the best... More

We stayed for 4 nights and when we booked it was a "hotel" but before we arrived it had changed to be a "restaurant with rooms". But with the one price menu at £95 each we went out to dinner in local gastro pubs. After arriving around 3 pm from a 4 hour journey we asked for afternoon tea, which... More
