My wife and I stayed at Ynyshir Hall and had a great time. Fantastic food form the brilliant Gareth Ward and his team. Very nice gardens, relaxed atmosphere, great staff and plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. If you want a relaxing holiday, fantastic countryside and brilliant food...go there...and try The Chefs Table! Perfect for an any... More

This hotel is in a wonderful location. Stunning views across Dovey valley and adjacent to RSPB reserve. Sadly the room we were allocated was at the rear of the hotel with no view other than a blank wall with a bathroom window to another room. It was clearly in the former servants' quarters built on three levels. On reflection I... More

We booked here as we wanted to try their restaurant ( see restaurant reviews). The drive to the hotel is beautiful, a one track lane to the hotel. The hotel is set in 14 acres of Welsh beauty. We checked in and then we were shown the hotel, the bar area with lots of comfortable settees, a drawing room and... More

We only stayed at the hotel as we wanted to eat Gareth's food in the "Restaurant at Ynyshir Hall" - which was outstanding (see separate review) Located in a beautiful setting just next to the RSPB reserve, the hotel is probably better described as a restaurant with rooms rather than a hotel, and is small and intimate. We opted for... More

We have stayed at Ynyshir many times over the past decade. This was our first visit since the sad death of the owner, Joan Reen, and were sorry to see that many of the little touches that made it so special were now missing. There were no fresh flowers everywhere, no nibbles with drinks, no petit fours with coffee and... More

We had two vouchers for Luxury Afternoon tea for 2 so decided to go one Sunday afternoon. As there were 5 we paid for another cream tea thinking that there would be plenty of cakes, sandwiches etc from previous experiences at Nantes, Lake Vyrnwy and many others and as two members of the group were very small eaters. We arrived... More

Such a restful, beautiful place in a magical setting. The service was excellent from each and every member of staff and nothing was too much trouble (even down to creating a bespoke lemon and mint tisane for me after dinner). The tasting menu was superb and innovative, presented by enthusiastic kitchen staff - finishing with a "surprise" course in the... More

I will go as far as saying the location is stunning overlooking its own mature grounds with a backdrop of rising hills. The hotel is situated up a long drive away from the road in a very rural yet accessible spot. This is a difficult review to write because the hotel is excellent in many ways but it is not... More

Ynyshir Hall is the most amazing Country House Hotel, set in beautiful gardens well away from the main road. Our suite was exceptionally comfortable and exceedingly well appointed. The dinner was an incredible experience, with chefs and waiting staff on hand to explain the intricacies of each dish. Highly recommended!

Ynys Hir Hall has the advantage of being located in one of the most beautiful parts of Wales. The gardens are lovely and it is a 2 minute walk to the wonderful Ynys hir RSPB reserve. We stayed in the room named Mirco which has a lovely private balcony a wonderful fireplace and chimney and a superb bathroom. Could not... More
