Just got back from 2 nights at poppy cottage . Stayed in poppy room very large bed and very homely . Enjoyed the homely touches tea/coffee available in room and lots of it. We chose Poppy Cottage because of its location - a small farm on the edge of a village, not far from Skipton. Steve and Sally have created a fantastic B&B out of their farmhouse. We stayed here for 3 nights. Sally and Steve really welcoming when we arrived. The breakfast was one of the best we have had. Beautifully cooked and lots of it. Well placed for getting around the area.

We stayed at Poppy Cottage November 2015 (apologies for the late review) Beautifully presented, clean and with a lovely welcome basket to top it off. We will definitely be returning and recommend this cottage highly.

Treated my mum to couple of days here and cannot fault it. Excellent hosts and bedroom, lovely garden, little lounge and kitchen for guests to use and fantastic breakfast. Definitely one of the best places ive have stayed. Good location and lovely scenery. You won't regret staying here and won't want to leave!

My husband and I met up with our great friends from Northants. The cottage was a wonderful place to stay, with plenty of history and perfect hosts. Specialising in short breaks, Poppy Cottages No. 1 & 2 are cosy one-bedroomed cottages with wood burning stoves, adjoining our home at Ivy Cottage Farm which is a traditional Dales Longhouse. Set in the picturesque village of Carleton just 2 miles from the bustling market town of Skipton, The Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, Poppy Cottages (following on from our very successful 'Poppy Cottage Guest House) which ran for 7 years and gained an 'Excellent' reputation on Tripadvisor. The cottages are self-contained but are full of little extras to make your stay comfortable and provided in the kitchen will be some basic essentials such as breakfast cereals, milk, eggs, tea, coffee and sugar. Poppy No. 1 has a luxurious hot tub in its private south facing gardens with an open planned living and dining room. Poppy No. 2 will be able to sleep up to 4 with the use of a pull out sofa bed in the lounge. Both cottages will have welcome packs of milk and eggs, a selection of cereals, tea, coffee & sugar in the kitchens. Both cottages have lovely multi-fuel stoves, freeview TV & DVD & free wifi.
