We arrived around 6.00pm on a Saturday and were able to get a table for two. It seemed that we were lucky however as the place soon filled with prebooked tables around us! We had two fantastic sized portions from the specials board, which were both delicious. The staff were appropriately attentive and we didn't have to wait for service... More

Recently stopped here on a trip with my other half on a trip to cornwall. Cannot fault to Lodge or the Inn at all. Very friendly and welcoming place to visit, the room in the lodge was fantastic value, I have stayed in a lot of hotels around the UK and paid much more money for not half as quality... More

Stayed here whilst working in the area. Not impressed. Room very basic with a tiny TV stuck in a corner partially hidden by wardrobe, unusable! Food - breakfast ok, evening meal awful first night, average second night, service not great either. Wifi almost unattainable could only get a decent signal in the bath room. Wouldn't stay again.

Thankyou for your not so kind review. I have checked with my waiting staff and no complaint was made on the evenings of your stay for food or service. Our waiting staff always ask about every meal that is served from the kitchen and no negative comments had been said. As for the room the television is situated in the... More

Having been for Sunday carvery a couple of years ago, I now went with family for a midweek evening meal. Suffice to say everything was delicious, with ample portions, prompt service and a very reasonable price. Situated on the main A48 in Aylburton and walkable from the top end of Lydney in about 20 minutes.

We stayed here for 2 nights to attend a wedding locally. We Had a lovely evening meal and breakfast at a very reasonable price. Our room was lovely, bed comfortable, en-suite and shower great (very hot water!) and basically couldn't fault it. There is nothing much in the village and it pays to book a taxi in advance.

Myself, my wife and our six year old were after a bite to eat after visiting a nearby location. We had passed The George Inn earlier and decided to give it a try. We're very glad that we did. We arrived in the early afternoon on a Thursday, and there were hardly any other people there. We were seated very... More

A small group of us ate here on our way home from a day out. The hosts were friendly, they have a nice choice of beers, wines and ciders. The decor is clean and the food is very nice. I would certainly go back if I was in the area again and would also recommend it to friends and family.

The room we stayed in was excellent, very clean and comfortable. There is a really nice craft centre nearby which is well worth a visit. We only stayed for one night and after reading the reviews decided to have dinner there but was very disappointing. I ordered Beef Bourginon which was pretty tasteless and more like a beef stew. Thankyou for your review. Very pleased that you enjoyed your stay in the lodge. Confused as to why the beef bourginon is bland as it is made fresh from locally sourced beef every week. This has been on the menu for the last 6 months and this is a first for us as this is a very popular tasty dish.... More
