I popped over to Morzine from Sussex for a 2 night break to get a couple of days of snowboarding in. It is located at the foot of a hill in the residential area of old town Morzine, just a 5-10 minute walk from shops, bars, restaurants and the Pleney lift.
The EasyBus dropped us off at the train station, and the hostel was literally a 2 minute walk away.
The place was buzzing. The restaurant/bar area was packed with a wide range of customers. This is not just for late teens/20 somethings, so don't be put off coming here because you are in your 30's, 40's, 50's+. It really does cater for everyone.
We checked in to our 6 bed dorm, which was spacious and clean. It had a shower room and loo, plus a second loo.
The only slight bad points were that, despite there being a power socket at head height, there was nowhere on the top bunk to put your things (drink, phone, etc). You had to sleep with them in bed with you. The bunk was also very close to the ceiling, so you couldn't sit up in bed. Also, if the person in the bottom bunk was a fidget arse (and mine was) you sway around like you're on a boat. I did not sleep until the guy on the lower bunk fell asleep, which was a tad annoying.
Anyway, once checked in, we returned to the bar and got some food and a couple of beers. The food was wonderful, mainly veggie/vegan mexican streetfood and all freshly cooked. The beer was a bit on the pricey side at €6 for a pint of Heineken, but soft drinks and coffees were free, so it levelled it out a bit.
Breakfast was served 8am onwards and was lovely. Good choice of cereals, yoghurts, meats and cheeses, freshly purchased pastries and boiled eggs. Could probably do with the breakfast room opening up a little before 8 so that early risers have somewhere to go, instead of having to stay in the dorm until 8am.
There was also a boot/board room, which could also be used as a left luggage room, so you could board all day, then pick your stuff up for your evening flight (complete with shower and loo).
The staff were great. Really friendly and welcoming, especially in what was a particularly unnerving time (due to coronavirus).
I plan to go back again next year, but with my daughter and her friends in tow.
Thank you for a lovely stay. See you next year. :)

This is a restaurant with a difference, it has long tables spread around and offers a basic choice of food which was tacos or side plates, that was it. The menu advised us to order 2 different types of tacos (between 5 and 6.50€ each) and a side dish if we’re hungry. Bottles of red were between 20 and 23€ each. The service was all pretty good, we all had a great time and went down to listen to the live music at Laury’s afterwards

Stayed here whilst on a work ski trip and it was perfect. Whilst the rooms were small it wasn’t a uncomfortable stay. The whole place was very clean and quiet and has a locked boot room for your ski equipment. Great breakfast and in the evening a decent bar to unwind in. About a 20 minute walk to the main ski lift however there is a free local bus service you can use. Would happily stay again.

We ate at Hideout on one of our first nights of our week long holiday and loved it so much we had to come back again before we left!! The food was fresh, flavoursome and varied. Two of my friends were vegetarians and it perfectly catered for our varying requirements. Over the two visits i managed to try all of the tacos.. all amazing but if i had to pick id say go for the Burnt Tomato and the Pork. We shared lots of the sides... the Papas Fritos were to die for loaded with all the cheese and chilli is a must!!! We shared the grilled greens but in future id want a potion to myself for sure... So tasty. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was cosy and chilled. Would definitely recommend booking in advance it was a slight struggle to get back in before we left. Worth the hype!

We loved this place last year when it was doing Asian inspired cuisine. It’s now Mexican street food, but the thing that hasn’t changed is its tasty, spicy (but not hot - it can be heated up on request, but it’s not blow your head-off) and great value. Service is also friendly relaxed and spot on. It has a heavy plant-base orientation, which as a carnivore, I have to say was tasty and really good. There are meat based dishes, but if I’m honest the vegi food was probably tastier. Not a bad thing at all!

We stayed here for a week for some DH-MTB. Overall a very nice place to be. Clean but not the newest. We stayed in a 2 bed room with own bathroom.
Set up as a hostel so don't expect the services you get in a hotel. The restaurant and bar are of a very high standard with good food and great value for money. Also the bar and cocktails are very good! the chef serves a great special every day. Service is good and you can clearly see that the whole staff is committed to make your stay pleasant.
In the hostel basement is an apres-ski bar in wintertime but in summer you can store your bikes there. The light is poor but the bikes enjoyed it :).
Last remark, if you hate sleeping and staying near a creek, this is not the place for you,. To me it's comforting but others might not enjoy it so much..

The hostel is central located in Morzine and it is easy to reach the most attractions of the village.
The rooms are really clean and the staff is friendly and polite; there is a good atmosphere in the hostel and you feel really welcomed.

My brother and I took my Mum here for an early Christmas present and wow what a present it was! The food was sensational (special shoutout to the broccoli which was next-level) and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Everything was delicious, we had bao buns, satay skewers, seaweed, broccoli and more and all of it was incredible. Could not recommend it more highly, thank you for a great evening.

Super friendly helpful staff. Booking all very straightforward and very quick to respond with odd queries before arriving.

Bike storage is substantial and secure with a good selection of tools to repair your bike mid week.

Rooms very clean and comfortable. All in, a very nice stay.

This is actually a comfortable B&B, with some dormitory rooms, rather than what I expect of a hostel. What others have said about the restaurant food is true, what they did not say is that there is no connection between staying in the hostel and eating there. For the whole of my stay the restaurant was fully booked. The first night they took pity and got me a 1 plate meal, one other night I had a takeaway from them. However, generally it was necessary to eat elsewhere, or get some sort of takeaway or supermarket offering. Other nearby establishments were also well booked up.
There is no shared kitchen as many travellers would expect in a 'hostel,' fortunately I took a kettle.
The ensuite room was nice, everything worked, which it doesn't in many a more up market establishement. The breakfast in the restaurant was excellent and included.
It was let down by the inconvenience of not being able to eat in the restaurant.
The wifi didn't work for the 1st 3 days, another significant inconvenience, however that was a fault, and once it was fixed it was good, so that is not really a criticism.
There was no reception, so staff only accessible by phone or at breakfast or dinner when the resturant was open. This wasn't really a problem, staff on duty were friendly and helpful. All in English, a slight pity, as I was trying to practice French, but good for an easy life.
