My wife and I had a great stay. We were made to feel very welcome and Eileen was attentive and charming. I particularly enjoyed feeding the donkeys and spending some time in the beautiful gardens. Breakfast kept us going for most of the day and we are already discussing returning with our two children, who will enjoy meeting the cats...

My grown up family of 5 stayed at this very unusual B & B, totally to our surprise the absolutely massive cats were enormous. We hadnt realised this was a fine cats home. Wonderful serene surroundings. Ideal for total relaxation. I arrived unannounced but was still made very welcome. Bed was fantastic kept snug with an electric blanket. Wonderful. Would recommend to anyone staying in this area of Northumberland.

stopped at thornley house for a night after attending a wedding at slaley hall,the stay was a uniquely charming experience that we will never forget, a really refreshing change from the usual sterile stops at britains b&bs. excellent accomadation and fantastic host all throw in around beatiful tranquillity and surroundings. not to mention the comfyest bed ive ever slept in!...

On our way to Scotland. Stayed 2 nights that were the best 2 B& B nights we've had. Eileen and her cats are the best hostess with a very rare guest lounge. This was our second visit to Thornley House, we stopped over after a day at Hexham Races. The rooms are lovely and clean and comfortable with fantastic views over the gardens. Eileen is a wonderful host and the breakfast was the best! We hope to return again next year.
